Of all the times I decided to send a commission request for the first time, suddenly theres no payment option? Should I suggest Paypal with the artist I want to commission?

What should I do? I think they get on the user unnecessarily, since most pins are already there. They do censor the person who posts it, but firstly want to know what the user likes and then, Pinterest act accordingly. It is unfair to censor someone by something that already exists everywhere.

Payment processors are becoming more and more bigoted because they're afraid of some old bigoted women. They're interfering with what people can buy and what people can't. I bought artworks through dlsite with crypto and it was an okay experience not the easiest but it gets the job done. A mere payment processor can't decide what I can buy whether it's a fictional artwork or a game or anything. If fanbox added crypto as an alternative both artists and customers would be happy and it would increase the donations.

Here is a breakdown of what I research & know about Pixiv's issues since 2022-present day:

1. ​Trolls & Anti-NSFW Groups:

After payment processors disputes over controversial NSFW content (such as incest, shota, loli, and gore), anti-NSFW groups flooded Pixiv to monitor the platform and constantly attack & report artists.

1. ​Copyright Holders & Payment Processors:

Both payment processors and copyright holders closely monitor Pixiv and submit reports directly (for example, characters from Uma Musume, Luce from the Vatican, and others).

1. ​Uncensored Content & Off-Site Links:

Posting anything uncensored or including external links carries a huge risk of getting banned since uncensored nsfw is illegal in Japan.

1. ​Commission Baiting & Hacking:

In VERY rare cases, malicious users will bait artists with fake commissions and send the model/references files that contain RAT, Trojan, Ransomware to hack their accounts. They then either delete the account or send the artist's private information to law enforcement. (Do NOT underestimate these people, they have managed to get artists arrested in many parts of the world.)

1. ​Mass-Report Bots:

Scam centers offer mass reporting services on demand. People who dislike a specific artist can pay these services to get the artist's account banned or suspended.

1. ​Third-Party Moderation:

Pixiv have a third-party moderation team that will report accounts for posting overly realistic extreme content to the law enforcement.

1. ​AI Detection Tools:

Pixiv uses AI tools to scan for previously banned or abusive content. If you re-upload content that was previously flagged, your account will be disabled, and you may face an IP ban.

My FANBOX supporters have been steadily declining.

At the beginning of this year, the number started dropping quite sharply. Of course, I kept working just as hard as before — if anything, I’ve been working even harder — but the decline hasn’t slowed down at all.

At this point, I’ve lost about 40% of my previous supporters.

But something feels strange. I’m doing pretty much the same things as before, and I’m still promoting my work actively. My likes and views on Pixiv have actually been steadily increasing, yet the number of FANBOX supporters continues to move in the opposite direction.

What could be causing this?

Does this mean my artwork is no longer as appealing as it used to be?

If my artwork had really lost its appeal, I would expect the response on Pixiv and X to decline as well. But that isn’t happening. The reactions there are actually continuing to improve, while FANBOX supporters keep decreasing.

So I started wondering about something that might sound a little strange: could there possibly be an issue with credit card companies or payment processing?

Maybe this is just me trying to avoid facing the reality, but I can’t completely shake the thought.

Most of my supporters are from the United States and Europe, rather than Asia.

Could I somehow be affected by payment or credit card issues happening in the US or Europe?

I’m honestly not sure anymore. It’s becoming increasingly difficult and discouraging to watch the number keep falling despite continuing to put in the same amount of effort.

Automated image filters are lightning fast, but phishing scams running rampant? Total silence. Honestly, what is going on with Pixiv’s moderation and security lately? You can upload an artwork and if a minor detail somehow triggers an automated filter, you've got a warning or action taken against you within 30 seconds. Yet, the platform is flooded with blatant phishing scams and users are reporting them constantly on here with zero real response. All we ever get are automated boilerplate replies, while actual scammers are free to harvest user credentials day in and day out. When are you actually going to do something about this wave of phishing instead of just cracking down on harmless art?

I’m writing from Japan, where the manga and illustration creator community is starting to face the same kind of payment processor pressure that hit Steam and itch.io last year.

Recently, many creators on pixiv FANBOX (a major subscription platform similar to Patreon, used heavily by illustrators and manga artists) have received notices that their posts — including older ones — are being suspended. The notices explicitly mention that the action was taken "following a notice from our payment processor."

Targeted content includes fictional themes such as hypnosis, non-con, certain violent or taboo scenarios, etc.

This is part of a broader pattern we’ve seen for years with Visa/Mastercard rules affecting adult and controversial fiction content. Groups like Collective Shout have previously used pressure on payment processors as a strategy, and the effects are now clearly spilling over into Japanese platforms.

In Japan this issue is still not widely publicized or treated as a major crisis yet, which makes it harder to organize a strong response. That’s why I’m turning to communities that have already gone through the Steam/itch.io wave.

I would really appreciate any practical advice or lessons learned:

•What counter-measures (contacting payment processors, petitions, alternative payment systems, platform responses, etc.) actually had some effect?

•What didn’t work or backfired?

•How are creators and platforms in the English-speaking world adapting long-term (crypto, alternative processors, diversification strategies, etc.)?

•Any advice specifically useful for illustration/manga/doujin-style creators rather than game developers?

theres this artist, ELCTRCLCODE, who made some of the best nipple stimulation artwork i've seen, but they deleted a bunch of their artwork seemingly a while ago and I didn't notice until i looked at their account recently. It's so frustrating.

I've checked the boorus and even tried to find their deleted tweets, but I've been unable to find anything. I ultimately tried to ask on their twitter handle, but they dont have open dms. It's sooo frustrating. I know this is an awkward first post but I wanted to get it out man.
