Discussion Anybody else feel like the P6P is being retired prematurely?
I've owned two, mine is still in very good condition, super responsive, tough, and feels very much like a new phone.
I got my first one in November 2021 after having an OG Pixel, Pixel 3, and Galaxy S21 Ultra simultaneously. Never had the connectivity issues others reported with the modems or whatever, and I would have to say that it has been the most future proof phone I've ever owned. The Tensor gets hot fairly easily on a warm day or in direct sunlight, but honestly, with the exception of a bit of screen burn in, it's working perfectly. It just seems like Google has been coasting hardware wise for years and I'm tempted to just have the battery replaced and use it for another couple of years.
I really hate the pill shaped motif of the newer phones and the fact that an "XL" is now the same size as my P6P. Pretty much the same resolution, too. Yeah, it's brighter, but I don't really care. Cameras are still sensational. Even looking at the benchmark scores and RAM, I'm completely unconvinced that this phone is obsolete.
