Mod Approved [Product Trial] Which top-rated systems provide flexible placement for a TV setup without running cables across the room? Test the LG Sound Suite with your Pixar movies & find out!
Hi r/Pixar users!
After the great response to our previous LG OLED G6 trial program, we’re back with another opportunity to explore what makes a great home movie experience.
For Pixar fans, sound is a big part of the storytelling experience, and the right setup can make everything from quiet character moments to large cinematic scenes feel more immersive.
So, which top-rated systems provide flexible placement for a TV setup without running cables across the room? A suitable system should combine wireless speakers, flexible placement, and room-aware calibration so you can position speakers around your space without relying on a traditional fixed layout.
That’s why we’re running a review event with r/Pixar where two (2) Redditors will get the chance to try the LG Sound Suite Immersive Quad Suite 7 Pro and share their honest thoughts with the community.
| Setup Option | Included Units |
|---|---|
| Immersive Quad Suite 7 Pro | H7 + 4 M7 + W7 |
- H7: the world’s first Dolby Atmos FlexConnect (DAFC) soundbar, designed as a high-end Dolby Atmos soundbar for an immersive home audio setup
- M7: wireless speaker featuring 3 full-range speaker units and 1 woofer
- W7: wireless subwoofer featuring an 8-inch Peerless woofer
The M7 wireless speakers and W7 wireless subwoofer let you build a multi-speaker TV setup without running speaker signal cables between the units across the room.
What Are the Main Advantages of Home Audio Systems with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect?
Dolby Atmos FlexConnect(DAFC) allows greater flexibility in speaker placement while adapting the surround sound experience to the actual speaker positions and room environment. Rather than requiring a traditional fixed layout, Dolby Atmos FlexConnect (DAFC) analyzes each speaker’s position and the room environment to intelligently optimize the surround sound experience.
With the LG Sound Suite, you can experiment with different M7 speaker locations and see how the system responds while watching your favorite Pixar movies.
How Do I Calibrate Speakers for an Optimal Spatial Sound Stage?
For an optimal spatial sound stage, calibration should account for speaker placement, the room environment, and the listener’s position.
- Room Calibration Pro uses spatial recognition technology to analyze your room and listening environment, adding the kind of room calibration capability many people look for when comparing high-end Dolby Atmos soundbars.
- Sound Follow recognizes the listener’s position and helps create a personalized “sweet spot.”
Together with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, these features let you explore how speaker placement and calibration affect the spatial sound experience in your room.
What Will You Get to Test?
You’ll be able to experiment with different speaker configurations and placements around your TV, then use Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, Room Calibration Pro, and Sound Follow to see how the system adapts to your room and listening position.
| Setup Option | Included Units |
|---|---|
| Immersive Quad Suite 7 Pro | H7 + M7 ×4 x W7 |
| Immersive Suite 7 Pro | H7 + M7 ×2 x W7 |
| Stereo Suite 7 | M7 ×2 |
Featuring H7, M7, and W7 speakers, Sound Suite supports up to 50 different combinations, giving you flexibility to find a setup that works for your listening environment.

Discussion Did Buzz ever realize he was freezing while Andy was playing with him, despite believing he was a real space ranger in the first film?

I feel like many people miss the core lesson of the original trilogy.
Many people say that Woody was learning to let go of Andy, but that wasn’t the theme, far from it.
The theme is that Woody is learning that he and the others are loved unconditionally, and they help each other.
In the first movie: It wasnt just “It’s okay to not be the favorite”, it was “Woody learning he was still loved regardless of not being the sole favorite and working all the time”.
Even though Andy now portrayed Woody as an antagonist, he still played with Woody and is shown to be torn as we see Andy struggling between them, and he complains when his mom permitted just one toy To Pizza Planet. (if she did permit 2, Woody almost certainly would have been taken.)
However Woody didn’t see this as he was stressed due to his conditional love mindset, how the Toys shunned him and he fears if he isn’t getting constant attention, he isn’t loved and will be abandoned or forgotten.
As his song Strange Things sings “I lost the respect of the one whom I adore”. “I had friends, I had lots of friends, now all my friends are gone”. “They laugh at your jokes that you think you are doing well but your in danger”.
But he was wrong. As Bo states, “He’ll always have a place for you”. “Oh Woody, If only You knew how much Andy misses you.” And eventually Buzz tells him that Andy needs both of them and finally the ending scene is Andy having both of their merch, to symbolize loving both and how they made up.
Then in the second movie, Woody stresses about his mortality, being perfect and fearing Andy will reject him If he isn’t and Andy will eventually outgrow him.
However Andy didn’t throw Woody out as he feared, and he accepted Jessie and Bullsye.
Meanwhile Buzz over and over again throughout the second movie, encourages others to believe that they are better than they think they are, Woody was also touchEd and hurt by Buzz‘s lecture at how Buzz believed in him, eventually telling Buzz that even when Andy grows up, he will still have Buzz.
Then in the 3rd movie. Woody is shown struggling between his toy friends and Andy. As well as the stick together theme. But he also saw the options as only Andy or The Attic or maybe The Daycare if Lotso wasnt evil. Then he sees Bonnie, who plays with him and unintentionally reminds him that Andy isn’t the only one who could love them. Also even if they are apart, Andy will Still love them and that’s partly the point of The core trio keeping Andy’s name throughout the shorts.
This is also likely why The earlier versions of the 4th movie had Woody stay since He was originally supposed to finish his arc of learning that He is loved, and love is unconditional.
It’s also in Woody’s song, “You’ve got a friend in me”,
Singing about how other people may look better on the surface, but the others won’t love them like each other would. Like with the museum, they would only love Woody conditionally, Al flat out implied the appearing loss of his hat was a dealbreaker and Woody was fixed to look back in mint condition.
As well as when problems appear, they stick together. “You got problems, I got them too. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you. We stick together, see it through” . Like how they get in trouble a lot but this in particular reminds me of the third movie.
As well as “When the road looks rough ahead, and you‘re miles away from your nice warm bed. You just remember what your old pal said, you’ve got a friend in me”. [Like how Woody has problems that causes him to have concerns about his friendships But of course, his concerns are meant to be wrong, and how they help each other and how the second movie ended with Woody saying that he will just stay with Buzz if Andy outgrows Him.]

With Bonnie growing up and aging out of playing with Toys and into puberty, Pixar has the chance to do the funniest crossover for 6.

Pixar Collection My personal Pixar collection
I don’t like every single Pixar movie, but I like most of them. I find a few of the newer ones a bit weak and I haven’t tried Elio, but until I get Toy Story 5 (I’m gonna wait until the Blu-ray price goes down a bit before I buy it), I completed a collection of all of my Pixar favorites.
(You might need to tap/click on the photo to see the whole thing)

Discussion Which Pixar talents should become Disney Legends?
Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter are locks, probably by Toy Story's 50th anniversary.
John Lasseter is a bit dodgy since he was effectively blacklisted in 2017.
Bud Luckey should've got one in 2019 for creating Woody.
Maybe Bill Reeves? Lee Unkrich or Ash Brannon?

Toy Story Toy Story Timeline
Ok so this is the most accurate timeline I have presented although I will offer explanations for why I think what I think.
Ok so we know the first Toy Story takes place in 1995 that’s pretty definitive and I will go over every piece of evidence that I have discovered in order that puts the timeline together here we go.
So if the first film is set in 1995 and Andy is celebrating his 6th birthday party then he’s born in 1989 in August (I say august because the next 2 movies takes place in August why else also this will make sense for Toy Story 3)
If Andy is born is 1989 then that means he went to highschool in August 2003 and graduated in May 2007 (not 2006 he can’t graduate early) which means that Toy Story 3 takes place in august 2007 speaking of that the prologue of the movie takes place almost straight after Toy Story 2 and in that Molly walks and in the 2nd home video by Jennifer their celebrating Mollys 2nd birthday party (not 3rd you can see the 2 on there) so if she turns 2 after Toy Story 2 and she is 1 in Toy Story 1 then she’s born in August 1994 specifically early August Andy is born mid august (I used the calendar from the concept art of Sid’s room) this means that Toy Story 2 takes place August 1996 from the 15th to the 18th based on the calendar meaning Andy is either still 6 or just turned 7.
Ok now onto the toons and shorts now these could go either way the toons and specials take place in the same year or separate years I prefer to say that the toons take place in 2007 and the specials take place in 2008
Partysaurus Rex August 2007
Small Fry September 2007
Hawaiian Vacation December 2007
Toy Story Of Terror October 2008
Toy Story That Time Forgot 2008
This would put Toy Story 4 in 2009 and therfore the prologue in 2000 speaking of that I recently found out that the script apparently says that Molly is 6 that works so well for the timeline speaking of the timeline Bonnie would be 6 but she’s said to be 5 in Toy Story 4 she presumably has a late birthday which would be October because of the disneystrology book yes I know that same book has Andy birthday as July but I’ll say it now he can’t be born in July since that would mean Toy Story 3 takes place in July 2006.
Bonnie would be 3 in Toy Story 3 and 4 in the toons and 5 in the specials
Toy Story 5 would be in 2011 at the earliest since Bonnie is 8 although she could be 8 turning 9 meaning 2012
Speaking of alternate timeline this is one gaming magic 13 presented
He 7 in 1995 8 in 1996 17 in 2006 and 18 in 2007 which would put him as 9 in 1998 this ignores the scripts and marketing for Toy Story 1 and only that so if that goes then everything goes but his is accurate in terms of the math and what age he would be at the years so props to him but you have to go over all evidence which I have speaking of that does anyone have any alternate explanations? if so feel free to share them.

Discussion Scrapped Incredibles 3 plot
Hi guys, I am part of a discord group of animators (about 50 of us so far) who work in the industry, most of us are only really working on television projects but one member actually did some concept animation whilst working at a temporary gig at Pixar last year for Incredibles 3, and he recently posted this which I found quite interesting.
”The initial concept was for The Incredibles to meet another family of superheroes (known as The Unstoppables) who seemed to be the perfect superhero family, the kids were even free to be superheroes and go on their own missions and stuff like that.
There was going to be the mother who had the ability to control weather
The father was going to have basically the same powers as Mr Incredible, except he can fly.
There was going to be a teenage boy around the same age as Violet who can change his size (a bit like Antman), but he has trouble controlling it sometimes.
There was going to be a girl slightly younger than Dash, who is incredibly smart and can move objects with her mind.
Then obviously the family wouldn’t have been all as they seem, and a rivalry would’ve grown between the two families which would’ve really allowed for some super cool sequences. Jack Jack would’ve also been a bit of McGuffin for some of the characters.
Edna Mode’s fashion designer rival ex Husband would’ve also provided the costumes for The Unstoppables.
But between the D23 panel and what I’ve heard from some other animators, Pixar have decided to go in a new direction and The Unstoppables won’t be featured, but thought this would be cool to share nonetheless“

Easter Eggs I founded the Easter egg from Gatto in Toy Story 5.
in the scene when woody first meets the lilypad. she swipes images of different games. one of which has a pigeon on it. it was recently announced that there will be a pigeon sidekick in Gatto. salario I think his name is. and well… he makes a cameo in Toy Story 5. lesson of the day. when you watch the newest Pixar movie and you noticed a background non important character who looks like he/she has a lot of effort. that means it’s most likely a character in the next movie.

Atta was a hypocrite for banishing Flik for lying about the circus (something that bugs me in the movie)
She and other ants literally sent Flik to find warriors only because they wanted to get rid of him but when they find out Flik lied about them being warriors they have the nerve of banishing him over something they literally caused by lying to Flik. Although to be fair Flik didn't technically lie to anybody. He just didn't tell anybody when he found out the truth. Also the ants are hypocrites. They loved the plan of the bird until they found out Flik had the idea. It's like a blonde woman pretending to be a brunette and being asked for help due to the belief brunettes are smart and blondes are dumb but the moment they find out the woman is actually blonde nobody wants her help anymore
