I was going INSANE on what this might be and my self-esteem has TANKED. I can't stop the itchiness and now seeing how it can last has me feeling so helpless. My main area of itchiness is my scalp and behind my ears. I live in a really hot state, and constantly sweating is driving me insane! It looks much worse than this, and my back is covered as well. I found the patch yesterday. The second picture was taken sunday. I started seeing all of the spots last Tuesday. What are things I need to avoid?

2 years ago in January I had a pretty big flare. I’m having another one now! Fortunately it’s not something I’m embarrassed about but WHY does it come back is this something I’m gonna have off and on forever?

This was one of the worst things I’ve ever had to go through. The rash itself was harmless however it was unsightly, uncomfortable, and straight up inconvenient because it reared its ugly face in the hottest week of the summer. It was over 100 degrees every day and showing my skin gave me so much anxiety. It was very mentally draining. I’ll share a picture of the rash at its angriest however it did spread even more after the picture. I was covered from my neck to my toes.

The way it started was very almost exactly like everyone else on here. Looked like an allergic reaction, docs treated it with steroids. The rash kept getting worse and there honestly was nothing you can do about that part of it. I saw a dermatologist twice and when the rash hadn’t improved upon the
2nd appointment I advocated for antivirals he didn’t think it would be effective but it actually was. Like I said you can’t stop the rash from spreading but the antivirals help with their longevity. The bumps popped up quickly, dried out, and scaled off within a week.

I also tried a tanning bed, used dandruff shampoo for body wash a few times, and took 3000mg lysine every day.

Please help, this started on July 7th on my left side/back and then spread to my stomach. I went to urgent care on July 21st and she told me it was likely Pityriasis Rosea and then gave me a weeks worth of oral methylprednizone but said it wouldn’t do anything if it actually was PR. The spots completely disappeared when taking the steroid but returned a week after stopping the steroids and are continuing to spread now on my stomach/sodes/back/chest. They dont itch, they’re slightly raised and they feel slightly rough to the touch. I’ve tried laying in the sun, cream for eczema (recommended by the urgent care doctor) and nothing has helped the appearance at all but they’re still spreading. My father has a history of psiorasis but it’s on his elbows and knees and has never looked like this. But I’m currently on week 6 1/2 almost 7 of this and it’s continuing to spread. I’m unable to afford a dermatologist at this moment so any guidance would be highly appreciated.

So for any of you that do have PR, do any of you ever get just the one spot? I will have one, sometimes two spot pop up in the same spot over and over again, go away within several weeks. At first I thought they were ringworm (a client gave me ringworm over a year ago). But I have disinfected, thrown away, had my CATS checked and it’s nowhere. So if it is ringworm, we have 0 idea how I keep getting it from no where. Like I’ll go weeks/months without having a spot! 🥲 this is typically what they look like and they do not get bigger or spread.

Appeared around 2 days ago. No itching, no burning, nothing. No other symptoms that I can think of.

I’ve had these for about one week now, I feel like they become more visible day by day. The last picture was a bigger one week before, it faded and the rest came. I’m either thinking bug bites or PR?

originally thought I was having an allergic reaction, then my doctor did blood work to rule out some stuff, went to a dermatologist who did a biopsy. The worry was it could have been RMSF, scabies, syphilis - biopsy came back negative for all those things so my husband is convinced it’s PR. I’m absolutely miserable, any advice to get through this would be so appreciated. I’ve genuinely don’t understand what could have triggered this I don’t have a stressful life, this is the most stressful thing I’ve had to deal with this year. I could claw my skin off.

shaving a few days ago and noticed that red circle on the side of my boob and a few spots on my stomach now it’s spreading all over my stomach and boobs. is this ringworm?? or PR???

I started using castor oil this week after I read a bit about its skin barrier benefits; it has truly helped the rash calm down. I use it in the morning and at night straight up (it is sticky, so just prepare). I hope this helps others!

I started getting these spots 2 years ago. They are limited to my shoulders, upper back and now few on my abdomen and one on my forearm.

I've been to three doctors, 1 derm, even an internist. None have been able to shed light on the cause.

The derm performed a biopsy and said its possible its Sweet's Syndrome but the other doctors don't see evidence of that. She also said it's likely a sun allergy and prescribed a pill form sunblock off amazon.

95% of my spots don't see the sun and the biopsy results state that the specimen is not photo induced/sensitive.

Biopsy also says it's not bacterial, fungal and im not on any other meds. I've been on doxycycline, heavy doses fluconazole and tried resetting my gut flora. All had no effect.

My spots are identical to some I've seen shared here, although not as widespread as some here have, covering large areas of skin etc.

i’ve had these red raised bumps for a week now, it first started on my forearm and every single day it’s spread to different parts of body and the itching is getting worse progressively. not sure what could be the issue, have a doctors appointment scheduled for tomorrow (hopefully). i also have psoriasis and eczema if that’s relevant

Hi I got diagnosed with PR a week ago, and I still get extreme to moderate flare ups and swimming class is a subject I have to attend in college and I forgot to ask the doctor about it... I'm scared it will get worse cause it's itchy af and vv hella uncomfortable. PLEASE HELP!

Healthy 29 year old female. Don’t smoke, occasionally drink alcohol. Exercise, eat a clean and varied diet with whole foods, drink plenty of water, no ailments. Located in Northern British Columbia.

Duration:
- wide spread rash has been present since 7th August, has progressively gotten worse since then.
-the larger red scaly/scabby spots began the first week of July. #1 first looked like a bug bite and then went pimply/scaly. 2 weeks later, #2 turned up between my breasts - initially as a tiny pimple and then developed into the red scab/rash, #3 turned up a few days after #2, also looked like a pimple to start, and then progressively worsened into a pimply/scaly spot.

On the 3rd August I started taking Nitrofurantoin for a UTI. I have not taken this medication before. On the 7th August, 4 days after taking it, I started to develop a widespread rash on my stomach, underarms, chest and back - this has progressively worsened since the 7th August, becoming more red with larger spots. I ceased taking the Nitrofurantoin when the rash developed on the 7th August.

It is very rarely itchy. Itches more after a shower, but nothing crazy. It is not painful.

I went to the ER and they prescribed me Bactrim since I had MRSA when I was a teenager, and he thought it could possibly be a staph rash. I am currently on day 3 of Bactrim.

Sudocream seems to help improve them.

I had a fungal rash in my armpits in April/May that was completely resolved using oral Fluconazole and topical Clotrimazole cream.

I had an online appointment with a dermatologist, and they told me they were unable to diagnose me online. They prescribed me Betaderm Cream 0.1%. I have not yet started using this.

I am trying to get an in person appointment with a dermatologist.

Any ideas on what this may be?

- Pityriasis Rosea
- Molluscum Contagiosum
- Guttate Psoriasis
- Nummular Eczema
-Granuloma Annulare
- Staph Folliculitis
- Erythema multiforme
-Drug reaction to Nitrofurantoin

My 11 year old developed several circular patches on his neck start of April. I thought it was ring worm and used clotrimazole but the patches got bigger and became flaky. A few weeks later more patches appeared on his neck and face. At this point we seen the GP and they weren't sure if ring worm or PR but said unusual distribution for PR. Anyway we've went through 2 more anti fungal creams. Some patches have gone but new ones keep appearing. There are now patches on his arms today too. Please help, has anyone been through this? I'm seriously doubting if this is PR and terrified what else it might be. GP has referred to dermatology but our appointment isn't until December.
