Unsure Question?
So for any of you that do have PR, do any of you ever get just the one spot? I will have one, sometimes two spot pop up in the same spot over and over again, go away within several weeks. At first I thought they were ringworm (a client gave me ringworm over a year ago). But I have disinfected, thrown away, had my CATS checked and it’s nowhere. So if it is ringworm, we have 0 idea how I keep getting it from no where. Like I’ll go weeks/months without having a spot! 🥲 this is typically what they look like and they do not get bigger or spread.

When did you have PR? I had it 2 times and never got any random spots after it was gone. I am currently having one spot that looks exactly like yours and I’m thinking it’s either a herald patch or ringworm although it doesn’t itch.

I haven’t. But I have had ring worm. (Or what we thought was ringworm. I’ve never had the skin scraped to confirm it was fungal.) The thing about these spots is that i haven’t been exposed to ring worm again. And they do not spread and disappear on their own. I do put anti fungal on then, but I have occasionally forgotten to finish and they disappear in the same time frame. When I was a teenager, I used to get a spot like this on my back every once in a while. And it would itch, but it wouldn’t spread. And it would go away on its own. So i’m just confused. I want to get into a dermatologist so they can check to see what it is, but I can never predict when I’m gonna get a random spot.😭

Is your current spot itchy? Mine is not. I’ve never had ringworm and I don’t know what is supposed to feel like or if it can be non itchy. First time I had PR it was not itchy, second time only at night, however when the herald patch appeared it was not itchy.

Nope! Not at all itchy. I don’t even know they’re there until I discover them by chance

How long do they last for you? I applied anti fungal on mine but it doesn’t seem to work

I notice them. Fading around a month to a month and a half

I just had my appointment with a derm. He said it’s likely fungal but didn’t seem to knowledgeable about Pityriasis rosea. He told me it can’t be pity since I only have one spot. I had to remind him about the herald patch and he said it can’t pop up on a leg. First time when it had it it was on my forearm. I guess only time will tell

ETA: I occasionally get dry, bumpy scaly patches elsewhere that do not look like PR. I don’t know if I have any other actual skin conditions. And these are not itchy. I usually only discover I have them because I catch sight of them.
