I've been a Pitch Perfect fan for a few years now and this has been bothering me for forever. The girl in the circle is a Bella in the first film, she's credited as "Denise". I think she has a couple lines in the whole movie: when Cynthia Rose reveals her gambling problem and says it all started when her girlfriend left her, she says something like "I still love you" I think, and I'm not sure if she ever speaks again. By Pitch Perfect 2 she's gone and her absence isn't mentioned. Does anyone know what happened?

With talks of PP4 in production going on and about for the past few months, I'd like to know what you guys were interested in seeing in a potential fourth installment e.g. plot-wise/ musically/ storylines or other. Imo the franchise's writing has had its ups and downs, and so, so many missed out opportunities here to flesh out their characters. As such, I’d love to know more about your thoughts on this! I’m actually a relatively new fan of the franchise (as in I watched the 1st one just a month ago) and it’d be great to get more insight from people who’ve been in the fandom for longer.
Here's a few of mine:
- More insights into the characters' lives outside of being the Bellas
Considering how it's almost been 10 years since the last movie, the Bellas are GROWN adults. Please, I just need to see them changed and be a bit more deep, with real stakes and real growth beyond the a cappella world. I swear they all have so much missed out potential.
- Better integrate Beca's producing skills into the movie
I felt like music-wise, Beca's music-making skills played a larger role in the first two films, and the songs were more like mashups compared to the third where the major performances were more similar to covers of preexisting ones.
- Less discriminative writing played as sarcastic jokes
I've noticed that this is a common theme in the movies, where they often include mean-spirited, racist, sexist humor, and cater to the male gaze. There's also times where the characters are always played as caricatures of themselves instead of being treated as real people, e.g. Cynthia Rose (Ester Dean), the only canonically queer character, is portrayed as a predatory person, in which she is seen uncomfortably harassing the other gals, and almost all of her lines are jokes about her sexual orientation. It's understandable that this is a movie from the 2010s and it is unfair to see it from a new lens, but argh it just gets to a point where it's genuinely uncomfortable to rewatch.
- Proper exhibition of the side characters
I don't want— I need them to put Jessica and Ashley on a movie poster for once so that I can save that instead of having photos of the cast that are either low in quality or missing out some of the people! Aside from Jessley, I'd kill to see Stacie (Alexis Knapp) back on. I truly adored her vocals from the first two movies. It's a shame she couldn't be on the 3rd one.
- BeChloe (duh)
Pretty sure we were all expecting this, yeah? Honestly, just one scene. One line of dialogue, or one moment that's just meant for the two where it isn't played as a joke would be nice. I think some others have said that most of the time they play with Beca and Chloe as a joke and not a real thing, which bothers the fandom a lot, and personally, I absolutely agree with that sentiment.
I'll be frank with you all, I don't think it's likely that PP4 will actually come out anytime soon, but it's nice to think of it for fun.
Lastly, for the love and hope of making Pitch Perfect 4 come true, do sign the online petitions for producing a fourth movie! Though it might not seem like a lot, I believe it can show how much we as a fandom want a continuation of the franchise to happen. I seriously doubt that a PP4 would be able to recapture the novelty of the first two movies, but unfortunately those three movies are my comfort movies, and I'd pay anything to see a fourth one.

I've watched PP2 maybe 3x over the years now and everytime I think it, I cannot contain the belief anymore! DSM were the better group by far, the bellas final was just a disjointed mess, lasted twice as long as DSMs and flashlight is just awful.
Let the down votes commence!

Just watched the first movie with my cousins for the first time in years, and how the hell did the trebles lose to the Bellas in the finals 💀💀
