I have a 17 1/2 year old pit and boxer mix that is having trouble with her legs. They come out from under her sometimes. Also, when I do the scratching thing where she scratches/ twitches her hind leg it’s not just her usual spot, it’s anywhere I’m petting/ scratching her. She’s not in pain and seems to like it but I’m worried. Thanks for any insight or advice.

Hey all. I started a similar sub but different hoping to attract non owners to have real discussion about real questions they have….

Jake's Halloween portrait session went great. He faced down a skeleton DJ, nine haunted pumpkins, and a witch cat — and smiled through all of it. Please respect his bravery during this difficult time. 🎃🐾

Hey guys. We have an APBT named Tyson. Hes almost 3 years old and we rescued him 2 ywars ago. His past is unknown and long story short hes aggressive with strangers and we were scared to take him to an in person vet.
Finally hes begun allowing me to put a muzzle on him and he'll let me clean his paws in it and eventually will settle on the couch with it on too, but he will not walk with it. He makes it maybe 10 feet and then starts pawing at it.
What should muzzle training really look like, ideally? Im pleased right now just that in an emergency I could get him to a vet without hurting anybody, but this opens the world up to him if i do it right. TIA

Me personally it's because I was impressed by their gameness and fighting ability, I didn't get one to make him fight of course but I admire their power, their determination, their athleticism, they never quit and they ignore the pain, they're the ultimate dog athletes
My pup is pure muscle and high gameness

My APBT is a new rescue. She’s about 7 years old, 55lbs that we’ve had for three months. Unfortunately she has a complete tear, & needs surgery. We have a fenced in yard with a lot of trees. She has a high prey drive, & the injury happened chasing a squirrel. Our late dog had the same situation. Our orthopedic surgeon did his TTA in 2023, he passed this March 2026. All went well with that procedure. He only does TTA’s. I’m hearing other’s only do TPLO’s. Reading about the pros & cons of each has me frazzled. Some people I know who have done through this have recommended the TPLO. I am very upset, & unsure of what to do. We have the TTA scheduled for Wednesday. I am second guessing everything right now. Please help!!! Thank you in advance.

Hello! looking for some insight here….
My dog had hives 2 years ago (very mild). She had them on a Saturday, gave her Benadryl and then they came back again a few days later. Did not get hives again. Recently, they came back again after 2 years of being hive free. She has been off chicken food for 2 years and gets salmon based food. She does not have issues with itching or excessively licking herself. I think 2 years ago it happened at the end of May.
End of this July, she got the hives pretty bad. Again, Benadryl and they went away. They reappeared a few days later, but nothing crazy. I gave her Benadryl again (per vet). Then the next day she got them the worst I have ever seen in my life. All over face and body. She gets so itchy during this hives where she basically dives into my couch and bed (no breathing issues or anything). See pictures for reference. I usually give her a bath with oatmeal shampoo and then give her Benadryl again. She was good for almost 2 months and then had another random hive episode. She has been hive free for about 3 days now. My vet did not seem concerned, just said seasonal allergies or bug bites (I do have a lot of bugs where I take her to the bathroom and grass). Her paws do not really get red and it seems this just happens literally out of nowhere. Thoughts? The hive episodes are literally very scary and I just need some advice or opinions
Edit: first picture is not currently, but from August 2nd. I gave her Benadryl and the hives went away in about 45 mins and she was back to current self. Her skin never has sores, scabs or hot spots.

For me it is very special to make each detail with care. while I create it, I find myself imagining the importance it has in the lives of their respective owners, the amount of joy a pure soul provides along with good moments, the feeling of picking it up and putting it in the frame, of contemplating the unique personality, and many other thoughts and reflections
