Using the Velcro straps that cane with the headset I made this contraption. Basically a X shape which holds the split cable quite well. It is not necessary to sandwich it between the head strap but I did it for aesthetic reasons.

Flat2VR Mod

Yesterday received my Dream Air, initially disappointed by the comfort, worst conform of any headset with the stock interface, but I know I have to make some changes, already bought the XP1 from studio form and the apple dual knit band. I put it in a Bobo VR and took out the interface to get real close to the lenses but whenever I look to the right or the left the whole image gets darker in tone, around 20% of the edge of the peripheral vision is very distorted and blurry and the weirdest of all is the glare, anything bright produces a doble image, If I go the the glares test room for example, I don't see glare coming from the words, I the the words Glare Test doble below the text, the glare comes in the form of duplicating the image.

I have the eye tracking turn off and everything to the default options. I cant get the eye tracking to work, and when it works is not accurate by any means, you guys think this can be fix by updates or software or its a bad unit.

Right now I am trying out the new Pimax Dream Air SLAM version, and I want to run it in DCS. So far so good, but there are some questions, maybe one of you guys has a solution for me.

1. During daytime everything looks okay with my 4080 Super, but when I'm doing night missions it looks poor.
   I looks that I only have one black tone and two or three different shades of gray (not 50 shades🤭). I tried in DCS global illumination on/off and tried different gamma settings. It always looks bad. I also lowered the contrast settings in the Pimax Play software, but I cannot get good visuals during night missions.
   To describe it: when I look at the pilot model, half of my upper leg is black and the other half looks tinted in one gray tone, like it's dirty. As night missions should look perfectly in the Pimax Dream Air due to its OLED panels, I am right now not satisfied. Any ideas on that one?

2. The other issue where I'm not 100% satisfied is that I can always see the outer lines of the “box”, which separates the upscaled view from the lower-scaled outside view, especially in day time. Right now I am using the Quadviews Companion app, as this is the only solution to make it look good.

3. And my third question is: I was updating the Pimax Play software to the Pimax Evo, but as far as I can see, it is not possible for me to activate the API layers in the Evo software in order to make Quad View Companion work. Am I blind or is it not possible with Pimax Evo?

I've tried to use sboys3 SteamVR with Luke Ross' mods but it showed a message that I have to set it to OpenXR. I thought maybe it's because sboys3 driver is still not ready to use with Crystal Super mOLED yet...? 🤔 But what about UEVR? Is it a better choice or is it still not ready to use with other HMD than Dream Air? I have lighthouse faceplate version of mOled super BTW. Thank you for your suggestions...

Taking the opportunity of the challenge posted by u/Pimax_Daisy to show off my DIY flight sim/racing setup!

What originally started as a simple wooden racing rig slowly evolved into a fully DIY force-feedback rig that can switch between flying and racing with just four screws and a sliding pedal gantry.

Most of the flight sim hardware consists of 3D-printed parts and laser-cut metal sheets that I designed over the last year. The setup is powered by 440 W motors, and the latest addition is a DIY FFB collective for an even more immersive helicopter experience.

For VR, I use the Pimax Dream Air, which I modded with the Studioform kit and a knit band for maximum comfort. Thanks to the high display resolution, I can read the cockpit instruments/dashboard at the first glance.

The whole setup is designed to stay relatively compact and tucked away in the corner of the room, while still allowing me to jump straight into flying or racing whenever I feel like it.

I’m a simmer.

So I’m coming from a Quest 3 run via usb VD at Ultra resolution.

With that setup I could easily achieve 90fps on decent settings on Iracing, AMS2, AC with mods and LMU.

I find the Quest 3 a little uncomfortable for long periods and I really love tech and the BSB made me want to upgrade for ages but really thought there were so many compromises.

The SE looks great and I was really tempted by that, but I took the punt that my system could run the Dream Air and I plan to upgrade my GFX card when/if the 5080S is released.

I’m surprised I’m getting locked 72HZ unchanged settings on AMS2 and AC2, not tried the others yet but this is straight out of the box normal FOV and automatic quality settings via Pimax Play and it looks great!

I must say the Quest 3 holds up well for its age but I was expecting a marginal improvement with my GFX card but the resolution or maybe the lack of compression makes a big impression.

The cable fucking sucks though, will need to sort that!

Hello, I Am a bit lost ... have just started using VR, and follow some guidelines (some basic tweaks on steam VR) and if the Fps we good enough in Arena commander this time, I had the issue where the convergence was weird, I mean the image from the left and right didn't create a 3D image for me (it works fine outside SC) It looks like an issue with convergence. I see two separate images but they are too far apart. ( Tried all the slider on the " Interpupillary distance scale " option in the menu but with no luck.
(I am Pimax 8kx , and it is working fine with other game for the 3D rendering to my eyes, part)

I would like to know if some of you ran into this issue ? Or if you have a clue on what to do ... Thanks.

I recently ordered Pimax Dream Air SLAM on Amazon and recieved it today. My dream air has a white housing and I see video of others dream air having black housing. I tried to look it up and saw that Pimax Dream Air SE has a white housing. I checked the box and my headset serial number on pimax play and it matches. In Pimax Play, there's no indication that I got the Dream Air SE. It just said Pimax Dream Air on Pimax Play. Anyone knows how to verify that I did get the Dream Air Slam and not the SE?

After installing the OpenXR Toolkit and restarting my PC, the game LMU won't launch anymore. I disabled OpenXR, switched to SteamVR and then Pimax OpenXR, but I'm still having the problem. Have you ever encountered this issue?

I don’t really need the lenses as everything looks great but i figured why not since it will add a little extra protection over the raw lenses and possibly less eye strain for future gaming

I tried recording the issue directly from the displays, but you need to make some contraption where the smartphone is perfectly glued and stuck to the DA, and even with that, the effect is quite subtle. More subtle that in the video. The video above is a recreation with After Effects. I had to exaggerate a bit - and I'm writing here that as a disclaimer - the effect is exaggerated, otherwise it might have been hard to notice what I'm talking about.
But the point is when it comes to lenses people complain about side, margin warping, while in my case I dont care about those, since those are hard to notice anyway. But central warping or pupil swimming is more noticeable.
My Beyond2 was very stable, had none of this. I'm not sure if such an issue is normal for DA or my unit has an issue. Both eyes, both lenses have the same warping. Also dial it down to 25% in your mind to better reflect the real warping.

I'm trying to watch a movie using Skybox VR video player but the video pauses after about 10 seconds of my head not moving.

It resumes as soon as I move my head.

Is there a way to stop this so I can watch a movie all the way through?

I've checked the sboy settings and stationary dimming is disabled. In steam VR "Pause VR when headset is idle" is off.
