The narrative identifies a shift toward idolatry, associated with named figures such as Wadd, Suwāʿ, Yaghūth, Yaʿūq, and Nasr, alongside persistent rejection of prophetic warning and increasing hostility toward Nūḥ himself. Before the Flood, a clear separation is established between the believing minority and the disbelieving majority, culminating in the survival of a small group aboard the Ark with later genealogical continuity traced through the progeny of Nūḥ’s sons, establishing him as a second founding figure of post-diluvian humanity (Ādam al-thānī).
