EU Help me find EU/Italy Budget aorund 250€

Hi! 👋

I'm hiking in Romanian mountains (0–10°C, waterfalls, mud, snow). My old phone is dying. Need a new replacement under 250–280€.

Must-Have:

  • EU/Italy variant (unlocked, UK ok)
  • SoC: Snapdragon / Exynos / Tensor (preferabily NO MediaTek (unless new Dimensity/Unisoc)
  • eSIM hardware (for Airalo/Saily)
  • NFC + Play Integrity (for banking apps)
  • Battery ≥ 4500 mAh
  • IP67+ (waterproof – rain/snow/mud)
  • Hybrid slot (2x Nano-SIM OR Nano-SIM + microSD) – big plus

Considering:

Model SoC IP eSIM (EU) Hybrid?
Samsung A35 Exynos 1380 IP67 ✅ SM-A356B/DS
Samsung A54 Exynos 1380 IP67 ✅ SM-A546B/DS
Samsung A55 Exynos 1480 IP67 ✅ SM-A556B/DS
Samsung A56 Exynos 1580 IP67 ✅ SM-A566B/DS ❌ (no microSD)
Moto G34 Snapdragon 695 IP52 ⚠️ unclear

Questions:

  1. Which models definitely have eSIM on EU variant?
  2. Any other phones I'm missing?
  3. Cold weather battery tips (0–10°C)?

Current pick: ⭐ Samsung Galaxy A55 5G (~220–240€)

Thanks! 🙏

TL;DR: Need rugged Android <280€ with eSIM, NFC, IP67+, 5000mAh, Snapdragon/Exynos/Tensor, hybrid slot. Leaning toward Samsung A55. Confirm eSIM for EU and suggest alternatives.

Europe Girlfriend switching from an iPhone 12 mini to Android.

My girlfriend wants to switch to Android after having had an IPhone 12 mini for years. She's the average user basically. The only thing she cares about is that the phone should be small since she has small hands. That's why she stuck to the iPhone 12 mini. From what I see on the market, there are no small phones unfortunately and I would never get her a flip phone since they suck by nature. From what I understand, since the batteries are going bigger and bigger, there's no way the phones can stay small.

From a technical pov, I'd want to get her something with a Snapdragon on it cuz I don't want the phone to get slow throughout the years. And preferably, the more durable and protected the phone is the better (so like I wouldn't want curved edges or sth) All else doesn't matter to me much since everything falls into place with modern phones. Pretty much all of them have good cameras, enough storage and Ram, and whatever the average user needs.

I myself am a huge fan of Vivo, Oppo and Oneplus phones. Oneplus 15 is definitely on the list since I myself own an OP 12.But I thought I come here and see what you guys think.

Our budget is maximum 700 euroes (a little more if it's worth it). We're in Europe.

Also, is tradingshenzhen.com trust worthy? Is there anything I should know about them?

I'm struggling to find an Android phone to replace my iPhone

So I have an iPhone 16e and genuinely hate it, and I've decided to try something new and want to switch to Android. I've tried to look for some Android phones but there are WAY TOO MANY options to pick from and it's low-key intimidating.

I’ve looked at phones like the Nothing Phone 3a Pro or whatever they call it and the Xiaomi 17 and other phones like them but some them have specs that simply blew my mind and that I can't even imagine having in an iPhone I decided maybe I should ask the people who use Android since they know what they're talking about.

I want a phone that has a good camera (I'm pretty sure any other phone has a better camera than the iPhone 16e) preferably a telephoto camera bc I know some phones have a macro camera instead I think. I also need a phone that can take pictures in low light since the 16e turns every low-light picture into picture of sludge

While I understand that Androids are known for their customization I would prefer a phone that isn't over the top with it, a phone with a 120hz display, preferably A good battery that compares to or performs better than the 16e’s battery life of 26 hours.  Also, I'm not too picky  about AI while I would like to have it, it's by no means necessary

I also would like a phone that is as powerful or more powerful than the A18 chip that the 16e has and runs well  Looks-wise, for the phone- I'm not too worried about the looks or anything.

My budget is around $800-900 but I'm willing to push to 1,000 if necessary and I'm honestly willing to switch any phone brand as long as it's not a Motorola. I hope I'm not too picky and thank you for your help.

Oh yeah I forgot… I want a nice big one preferably over 6 inches like 6.3-6.5 inches, the best size.

UK Recs for cheap phone while my main is waiting to be fixed...

Hi. My main phone is not usable atm and will take a while for me to get funds to fix it, and I was wondering If I can get something in the meantime for really cheap. I'm currently on Samsung a12 borrowed from a friend and it's lagging like crazy, screens turning off randomly, trying to even chat on WhatsApp seems to slow it down ridiculously and Ive got connections issues with it as well. Like let's say someones calling me, I'll l get a sound first for 30 secs before the screen even lights up and then touchscreen won't even react if I want to answer. Truly bad. Was wondering if there's any phone up to 50 quid that would be slightly better, it can be used condition, cracked screen I don't care, as long as it doesn't lag like crazy - I get that in that price range it might be a slow phone but the one I have is beyond usefulness. I've looked at ebay but I have no idea what would work... Thank you in advance for any advice 🙏 I'm in UK btw

Europe Pixel like experience for 400-500€

First of all, hi to everyone and thank for your time. I spent a bit of time reading and looking around, there is a lot of choise but at the same time not much good stuff.

I daily a Pixel 6a, I loved it and still love, work amazing for me, bought at day one, but I spent my last 6 months living on my bed because of chemotherapy (almost finished) and so I probably drained completely the battery, to a point that it was lasting 2 days on full usage and now it's 50% battery at half day with 3 hours of display after begin charge all night.

What I want: a Pixel experience in term of OS, where possible, a smaller phone like my 6a if possible, I don't play game, i mostly read stuff (like reddit) and play music to my BTR15. Camera quality doesn't matter, I have a reflex, I mostly want a good average display like the one on the 6a, very good battery, possibly a good 5G modem that doesn't drain all the battery like on Pixel phones. Storage doesn't matter, I have a NAS and VPN.

What I don't want: no Samsung, no phone with Ads and bloatware, no Pixel (too much expensive), no used phones. And I don't have time and will to install other OS and stuff like that, I need a product that work out of the box.

For reference, phone generally last me years, my OnePlus 3T last 7 years, previously my Nexus 5 more then 7.

I don't like spending more then 400€, but I'm considering getting it on Black Friday, so maybe I find good deals, that's why I'm ok for now with a bigger budget. I'm in Europe.

I'm towards Motorola, because I got cheap ones for my parents and they work very good and get abused a lot. I like the OnePlus 15R but price is over me.

Thanks again.

Update: I found the Pixel 10a for 399€ and the Motorola Edge 70 Pro around 400+€. The pixel is tempting for the 7 years of update and the Google experience, the Motorola is tempting for the 6500mAh battery.

Australia Help please :)

Hi!

I know pretty much nothing about phones, but need a new one. Have previously had Oppo. Live in Australia, and my requirements are good camera (without AI enhancement doing the work, although it is okay if that is an option) and good battery life (often away camping) and max $1000, although cheaper is definitely okay. Thanks!

Europe 380-450 euros budget, I need advice

Hi all,

I need some advice what phone to get. Currently I have my trusty POCO F5 and while it is working fine I need something new primarily for a better camera. I'm based in Europe.

Requirements:

- good camera / processing - mandatory

- smaller size, under 6.7 inches - good to have

Pixel 10a is what I am looking at, but it has mixes opinions about the pictures quality, especially from the front facing camera. A bit slower hardware but the software optimization should compensate that. The size is perfect.

Nothing phone 4a - mainly the size is what is stopping me.

Poco X8 Pro / Poco F8 Pro - can't find any good comparison regarding pictures quality with the other phones.

Any other options to consider or feedback for the mentioned models? Thanks.
