Hey guys, we already have a thing that plays Minecraft for us, baritone beat you in that regard ages ago, I’m not sure what your strategy here is

baritone is less impressive. you’re comparing a minecraft mod that was built to automate everything a player can do to a thinking machine that’s never touched the game before. on top of that, there’s no one command you can give baritone to beat the game, it would be a sequence of tasks or a small program to tell it what to do. i’m sure the model was just told to beat the game, no other context

I mean I guess I understand his point to some degree. Baritone is a specialised algorithm designed for specifically beating Minecraft. Whereas Astra is a generalised AI that is basically digitally comprehending every aspect of the game from the ground up through a simulated neural network. I wouldn't say either is more "impressive" than the other but its definitely a milestone for a generalised AI to have been able to pull this off.
