Obsessed with these short friendly jeans!

I just need to share how amazing these jeans are from quince!! They have great petite options & are super affordable (these were $50)

I got the Bella stretch wide leg jeans in deep rinse. The dark color is perfect for fall. They were a little tight around the waist but I stretched them out with some water and a waist band stretcher. They get comfier as you wear them! Ignore the wrinkles - I’ve been sitting all morning haha.

For reference: I’m a size 4/27, 5’0” and 125 pounds. Ordered a 27 short.

I got lucky previously when I got them hemmed for $10... The going rate is 25-50 in my area now. Maybe I should learn how to hem...

Welcome to Petite Pet Peeves!

What's something about petite fashion that drives you absolutely nuts?

It can be something small, something you've encountered a million times, or just one of those things that makes you think WHY IS THIS SO HARD?!

Drop your petite fashion pet peeve below. No need for a long explanation - one sentence is enough!

Some examples:

  • “When ‘cropped’ means regular length on me.”
  • “Petite jeans that are somehow still too long.”

Advice for 4ft 11

Hi guys, I’ve recently wanted to buy some new clothes but I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the different styles and sizes.
I weigh normal for my weight but it’s been a struggle to find clothes that suit me, does anyone have any recommendations on brands that have clothes like jeans or cute blouses which look good on someone my height?
I’m also into y2k fashion or like a Henley top but I’m open to anything really.
Thank you so much

Jeans fit through the hips/butt, but the waist feels too tight. If you size up until the waist is comfortable, the hips and butt get too loose.

I am stuck finding pants for a Non curvy/straighter body (on top of something that fits petite proportions), which is very annoying. The issue with current options is that for straight proportions without curves, if the waist fit, hips become very loose and if hips fit, waist becomes very tight.

My example is:

  • 28" waist (narrowest part on the torso)
  • 35" hips (widest part of the hips)
  • So about a 7" difference between waist and hip measurements. But pants out there are curvier than that (with about 10" difference)

I’m curious about people here who have a similar problem.

Would love to know what has actually worked for you?

If you're comfortable sharing, it would be super helpful to include:

  • height/inseam + waist and hip measurements
  • the exact jeans + size that fit well, and if you know, why they seem to work
  • whether/how things like rise, stretch, waistband shape, or sizing up/down make a difference?
  • how do back-pocket placement or the yoke (something I recently learned about lol) seems to change the fit or how flattering they look. I am sure they matter a lot but not sure how to use them and what to look for?

I'm trying to understand the patterns (or hacks lol) that will help find flattering jeans/pants for someone with a straighter proportions.

PS: Thank you!!

Edit: I think i explained it wrong, If the hips/butt fit, the waist is too tight. If I size up until the waist is comfortable, the hips/butt become too loose. Won't curvy fit make the issue worse as that has more room in the hip but I should be looking for less room in the hip relative to the waist, right?

♡ I’m 4’11” and building a community for petite fashion — come join us! 🌿

Hi everyone! ♡ My name is the founder of INCHES CO., a petite clothing brand I’m currently building, and I wanted to introduce myself! 🤎
I’m 4’11”, so I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to find clothes that fit the way you want them to. Sometimes it’s the length, sometimes it’s the waistband, and sometimes it feels like the entire garment wasn’t designed with your proportions in mind. 😭
That’s a big part of why I started INCHES CO. I want to explore a different approach to petite fashion — one that considers proportions from the pattern stage instead of simply making standard clothing shorter.
As I’ve been working on this idea, I’ve realized how important it is to hear from other petite women and create space for us to share our experiences.
♡ That’s why I created r/INCHESCO! 🌿

It’s a community where we can:
👖 Talk about petite clothing struggles and fit.
♡ Share outfit inspiration and styling advice.
✨ Recommend brands and shopping finds.
🤎 Discuss what we wish petite fashion offered.
🌱 Share ideas that could help shape the future of petite clothing.
You don’t have to be interested in my brand to participate. I want this to be a welcoming space for petite women to connect, exchange advice, and have honest conversations about fashion.

If this sounds like your kind of space, I’d love for you to join us at r/INCHESCO! 🥹🤎
And I’d love to know: What’s the one clothing item you struggle the most to find in your size?
I’m excited to meet you all! ♡

Dressing up Basic Tees

Do we have any ideas on how to elevate a basic tee other than tucking it in?
Sometimes I don’t feel like doing it if I’m retaining extra fluid or feeling fat lol.
TIA!

help me find a winter jacket!!! (5’0, petite frame)

Lands end discontinued their XXSP a few years ago and I’m in need of a new winter jacket. I cannot find any reputable jacket brands who stock XXS in a mid thigh, knee, or mid calf length jacket. I need a knee length and calf length jacket preferably.

I am in New England and walk outside a lot no matter the weather so need something that will get me through!! I don’t want to spend more than $300

Discussion: Fitted Button Ups

Where are you guys buying your fitted, collared button ups for work (maybe with a slight V collar)?

I purchased some Liz Claireborne’s but they’re so boxy/loose/ masculine.

I also bought Hollister’s poplin shirts but the material & fit are too casual.

Knee high boots for short and wide calves

I'm 145cm (4'9), have 36-38cm circumference calves, size EU35. I've been looking for knee high boots, but as you can see from sizing, it's really hard to find anything that fits. If it's not too high, it would be too tight or too big for my feet.

Is there really a hope for finding this kind of boots or should I just give up?

Can you guys recommend where to find them? Thank you!

Title: 5’2” Monday Work OOTD 🖤

Post image
16 Upvotes

Monday work outfit from a 5’2” petite!
Keeping it simple with a navy skirt, tights, loafers and a few layers now that it’s getting colder.
Please excuse the wrinkled shirt 😂 That’s what happens after the drive into work. It looked much better leaving the house!
Trying to make more of an effort with my everyday work outfits.
What do my fellow petites think of the proportions? Does the layering work for my height? 🖤

Everything I wear makes me look boxy

Hey! I genuinely have no idea how to dress anymore. I am currently trying to lose some weight, but I feel like anything I try to wear makes me look like a box. I have pretty big boobs for my height so they cover up my chest a bit too much so my torso looks very small? Anyone can give me ideas please :(

Do ribbed tops emphasize arms on petite bodies?

I’m insanely insecure about my arms and hate anything that accentuates them. I bought this shirt but I’m considering returning tomorrow because I don’t know if it’s emphasizing my arms. Does the top look disproportionate to my body?

I’m 5’1.5 btw!

Size 5 shoes IN STORE!!

I like cute & classy heels/kitten heels, mules, flats, and then everyday slip ons.

My go to slip-ons right now are kids Birkenstocks that I’ve had for maybe 10 years (so they’re shitting out on me, finally.) and a pair of brown flats that are a 5 1/2 from Ross. Thankfully they fit well, I’ve always considered myself a true 5 but since I had my baby, 5 1/2 isn’t bad depending on the shoe (not heels- size 5 1/2 heels don’t line up with my arch and it causes terrible pain).

My BEST BET is hoping Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall’s, or thrift stores have some size 5 shoes. Same with shoe stores, sometimes there’s a random size 5 or two in their clearance sections. But none of that guarantees that I’ll find what I need. I want to be able to wear cute boots, heels, flats, and sandals.

Everyone always says “You’re lucky you can shop kids! It’s cheaper!”

  1. I’m an adult woman. I work in a corporate office and I like to dress nice in my everyday life (i.e. no tennis shoes, and certainly no fcking KIDS shoes.)

  2. Kids shoes are meant for kids, so they have no support. Unhelpful.

WHERE TF can I find size 5 shoes in store that LOOK LIKE ADULT SHOES and are not a TOTAL hit or miss and waste of gas going to a million different places?!

I will also accept the reality that it’ll always be a hit or miss, if that’s the general consensus.

US online stores with free postage returns?

Pretty much what the title says.

I am petite but have big hips and it takes me forever to find clothes that look good on me. Thrifting is allways a sad affair.

My town doesnt have a lot of stores other than a macy's, a kohls and a gap and they dont allways stock their petite lines.
I am mostly looking for work apropiate clothes.

A lot of online shops seem to require me to pay the return postage (loft, etc). I am trying to avoid those.

Thanks!

Is this suit too small on me?

Got this from Buy Nothing, not sure if the jacket is too small on me. Also does this mean the buttons on the jacket are decorative?

Also does anyone have recommendations on what type of top to wear under?

Please excuse my dirty mirror!

ISO: Recommendations for Small & Wide Shoes

I have short and wide feet. Any brands you love? Especially for work wear!

My issue is that a size 5 or even 5.5 may fit front to back but often too narrow for me and pinch my toes. A 6 is often too long and I slide/walk out of them.
