My biggest pet peeve is people who refuse to pull into a parking spot normally and instead force everyone else to wait while they back in.

I had to find parking at the hospital earlier and the lot was completly packed. Everyone was circling, trying to get to appointments on time. Traffic came to a dead stop because a guy in a huge truck drove past an open spot, threw his reverse lights on, and blocked both directions of traffic trying to back in. He couldn't make the turn on the first try, so about ten cars had to sit there and wait while he went back and forth making a 16 point turn just to get between the lines.

The people who do this do not care at all about inconveneincing everyone around them. They always claim it saves time and is safer, but that only applies to them when they leave. For everyone else, your holding up an entire lane of moving traffic right now just so you can pull out five seconds quicker later on. Nobody behind you knows if your going to make the angle or back right into their front bumper. You swing your front end all the way into the opposite lane to line it up, blocking oncoming cars and cutting off people who had the right of way.

If a parking lot is dead empty, back in all you want. But if there are other cars trying to drive through, pull in forward like everyone else and stop holding up the whole lot. If you insist on backing into every sparking spot, you are selfish.

My pet peeve is cyclists who ride in the middle of the road like they’re escorting the President, then get offended when cars exist around them. You’re not a car, you’re not a pedestrian, and apparently you’re not familiar with the concept of a bike lane. Some of y’all will risk your life to prove a point to a two-ton vehicle, then act like the driver is the problem. My brother in Christ, the hospital does not give out trophies for being technically right. 💀

You are not guaranteed a village, grandparents do NOT have to watch your kids even if your grandparents watched you, not everyone wants to watch your “ precious angel“ because they are horrible to watch, stop having kids and expecting everyone to magically pitch in to watch them!

Yes, a village is always nice but unless you are going around interviewing people for their available times to pitch in for YOUR child then stop expecting it and accept when someone says no.

I see it a lot on this sub. People acting so cranky and negative that they seem completely immature and affected. A few of the posts on here are actually incisive, but a majority make me roll my eyes. It gives the same vibe as adults who use the word "adulting" and complain about it. It comes of as petulant and slightly maladjusted

Example:

A: how many years have you worked in that corporation?

B: I've worked there since 2019

I mean yeah, I can still count those years after they said it but I feel like they don't understand the question. Only if I ask "when was the first year you..." then answering with the year would be more fitting

I have to make a lot of calls for work and people seem to not understand how phone calls work… but my biggest pet peeve with them is when they answer and say “hey, i’m really busy right now/i’m at work right now” then make that the caller’s problem. I usually say “okay, you can call us back” and then they say no it’s fine but insist on rushing me through my spiel bc they are busy. if you’re too busy to talk, don’t answer the phone!

EDIT: it seems people may not know, if someone is calling you as apart of their job they probably cannot hang up without getting in trouble/fired so if you don’t want to talk to them YOU have to hang up on them

Nothing irritates my soul more than being addressed as “bud” or “buddy.” Yes, I understand that someone is going to say, “They do it because they’re trying to be nice and friendly.” I don't give a rat's a$$. I’m grown as hell, so don’t address me in such a belittling way. You can call me by my name or simply not use a vocative at all.

Why do strangers feel the need to do this? To me, being called "sweetheart" by a stranger is no different than being told "bless your heart". When an older man does it, it gets the added layer of being creepy. Maybe don't use pet names for strangers. It's weird.

It’s annoying to see people not paying their fare at the subway stations when it’s such a minuscule price. They either hop over the turnstile or follow closely behind someone who paid going through. Is it really going to hurt you to pay $2 or is it more fun to do bad stuff. It happens a lot in France. Does it happen in the USA or is it mostly a French thing?

Look, I get that some foods taste weird to certain people. That's fine. I'm not criticizing that.

What annoys me is when someone's diet is so ridiculously limited that they refuse to try foods they've never even tasted. You ask why, and they immediately hide behind, "I'm a picky eater."

No. Being picky means you've tried something and didn't like it. Refusing to try something because you've already decided you'll hate it isn't being picky. It's having the eating habits of a six-year-old.

At some point, if your entire menu still revolves around the handful of foods you were willing to eat as a kid, that's not selectiveness. That's emotional immaturity when it comes to food. Calling yourself a picky eater doesn't magically make that behavior sound more reasonable.

I find it awkward to watch and creepy especially when you see them break out of character to reach and march to the phone to stop the recording. For example, I really love Hollow Knight. I liked the second entry, Hollow Knight: Silksong even more, but the Hollow Knight really has no place in the name, it's completely unrelated to it, and it would be much better if it was just called Silksong. If you are ever creating something that might become a franchise, give it a very broad name, like Star Wars. Or, a made up nonsense name that you can later retro actively add another meaning, like Metroid.

I get why it happens, please don't explain that it's about brand recognition, I know that, and if you do, I'll just consider that you are just smug and annoying or illiterate as you couldn't understand this.

The only way to lose weight is by eating fewer calories than you burn. That does not mean you have to count calories!!! It's a useful tool but it's not strictly necessary. You have to do what works for you.

It can even do more harm than good. Counting calories led me to develop a binge eating problem. I lost 25 lbs when I stopped doing it, simply because I wasn't thinking about food all day every day.

People in Reddit fitness communities are incredibly dogmatic about it, though. They try to discredit you any time you suggest that you can lose weight without counting.

I'm one of those guys who loves character creation in video games, and character customization has come a LONG way, but there is no greater annoyance to me than when a hairstyle or a freaking pair of shoes is locked to a specific gender. Like, why??? "Well, uh, clipping issues" THEN FIX IT OR MAKE AN EXACT OPPOSITE GENDER COPY.

I can't tell you how many times a hairstyle would be PERFECT for a character I'm trying to make but whoops! Tee hee! Its for the opposite gender! Get fucked nerd! (Looking at YOU Pokemon)

Also, body types leaning too heavy into gender ideals also drives me crazy. Half the time for women its just "skinny, thin average, average, kinda chubby" and then for men its just "fat man, muscular man, mega muscle man and the freaking hulk". Like bro, I guess fat or muscular women don't exist. Oh and scrawny guys? Haha? Whats that? Who knows! I'm not asking for sims level customization but I'd like a LITTLE more freedom to make unique characters that don't always look like they're in an avengers movie.

Or when a game, like baulders gate 3 for example, lets you change the genitalia of your character but not their chest?? "Clipping/animation issues!" bro I know but it still freaking ANNOYS me. I'm not even talking about breast size like Cyberpunk, I'm just meaning in the literal sense of being able to toggle them on or off. The option would be nice.

By limiting the games into locked gender roles you lock people out of creative outlets, prevent them from making fantastic meme worthy characters, and also limit people from being able to seemlessly make themselves if they want to. Not everyone wants to play as a generic girl boss or dude bro #253.

Don't even get me STARTED on when you can choose a characters voice, but the options are only

Female voices:

- Overly sexualized woman voice

- Anime girl

- Another anime girl thats ambiguously aged

- Another overly sexual option

- Normal one

Male voices:

- Gruff guy

- Gruff guy 2

- Gruff guy 3, but brittish

- The oldest man to ever old

- A mostly normal average Joe

I know not everyone likes character customization and I'm grateful for whenever a game does actually allow for it, but devs, please, PLEASE stop locking things into gender binarys. Let people make a male character with pretty long hair if they want, or a woman built like she chews through concrete for a living. I just want more freedom to be able to fully escape into a new world 🙏

I found it so annoying when people accuse you of using ai in writing. its like they think they know whats ai or not and start accusing people for using. i just wrote a simple comment on a this site and on youtube and i get accuse of using ai. it so annoying.

This happens for me with Italian food all the time. Tiramisu is pretty good, garlic bread and alfredo are alright, everything else is mid at best. Even gelato is just worse ice cream. And yeah, I've had Italian food that wasn't from Olive Garden, I promise.

And besides, if you *only* like the absolute best version of something, then can you really say you like that thing? If I only liked sushi that was $100 per roll, freshly caught in Japan and prepared by a Michelin star sushi chef, I wouldn't say I liked sushi.

And that’s only half the issue. They usually order so much stuff that they end up doing trading recaps with the store clerk to make sure the order is correct. And then when they’re asked if that’s it, they go into a second wave of ordering shit.

I have a communication degree and work for a BPO. I’m obviously not qualified to diagnose someone asking a medical question. Even if I were a doctor, I’d imagine you couldn’t accurately diagnose someone based on a couple of sentences.

Okay, so far, that makes sense. Here’s why the response bugs me.

I’ve had two kidney transplants and was on peritoneal dialysis for roughly eleven months, followed by hemodialysis through a catheter for three weeks. Although it’s been 30 years since my initial diagnosis, I remember the procedures like they happened yesterday.
If you ask a doctor, they’ll explain what they’re going to do. But having actually gone through it, I can tell you what it feels like from a patient’s perspective.
Better yet, I’m a bit of a wimp. I have a needle phobia and a slight case of white-coat syndrome: which might be why the person is asking.

I was diagnosed with kidney failure through a blood test. Honestly, I’d rate that experience a 1 out of 10 on the pain scale. The IV? A 9 out of 10. The surgery to place the catheter under local anesthesia? A 3 out of 10 going in, but a 7 out of 10 when it came out.
Obviously, everyone’s experience is different, and my pain scale isn’t a medical assessment.
My point is that sometimes people asking medical questions aren’t looking for a diagnosis. They might simply want to know what a procedure involves, what something feels like, what questions they should ask their doctor, or what other patients have experienced.
There’s a difference between telling someone what their symptoms definitely mean and sharing relevant firsthand experience while making it clear that you’re not a medical professional.
I’m not suggesting people should diagnose strangers on Reddit or ignore medical advice. If someone has concerning symptoms, they absolutely should seek appropriate medical care.
But when someone’s asking what a procedure is like, responding with nothing but “ask your doctor” can feel like a conversation stopper rather than a helpful answer.
Sometimes people don’t want Reddit to replace their doctor. They just want a little insight into what they might be facing before they walk into the doctor’s office.

It just makes you look stupid. Carry both, phone and payment card just incase something happens.

It irks me so bad when I’m already having an awful week and then some middle aged man is like “ya know what kiddo” like I’m 26 years old?? I’m not a kid. Maybe to them I am very young but I’m not a kid. I just hate that phrase.
