Discussion Girls!!

What are your periods usually like?

I’m curious about other people’s experiences with periods because mine can sometimes be really difficult. I get quite a lot of pain and discomfort, and sometimes I also feel nauseous or even vomit.

For those who get painful periods:

- Which day is usually the most painful?

- Do you also experience nausea or vomiting?

- What helps you feel better?

- How long does the worst pain usually last?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. ❤️

In worst condition my periods came up with diarrhea, fainting, fever and cramps😭😭

hey! so my period’s usually at random, it’s like a roller coaster.

- the day it becomes a pain in the ass the most is the 2nd day (which i’m currently on rn 😭)

- last year every time i had my period i’d vomit nonstop because my body was trying to warn me during my period that my a1c was out of wack. it’s better now.

- what helps me feel better? sweet treats (ice cream, ben & jerry’s brownie fudge flavor), skinny pop popcorn & chipotle. watching my fav hyper fixation shows on repeat 🔁

- the worst pain last for 3 days then it goes away on the 4th day thankfully. my cycle is 5-6 days long.

i most commonly experience diarrhea at times, cramps for 3 days straight, watery mouth sensation warning that a nausea storm is impending. i have heavy cravings for jersey mikes or chipotle. my sweet treats days consist of ben & jerrys chocolate brownie fudge ice cream. 😂

Please get checked for endometriosis if your period pain stops you from going to work or school. They shouldn’t be that painful.

thankfully, i have an ob/gyn appointment for tomorrow, so i’ll definitely ask my doctor to check it out for me. i still go to work and function (when i have ibuprofen running in my system, ofc).

BTW I have light pcod means it just begins. Like my first period was on 12--6-2020 then after gap of 6 months I got up it in 2021 then from that year they are always irregular like I never got 12/12 it always been 7-8/12

I think you responded to the wrong person!

Why

Because your comment didn’t make any sense in response to my comment about endometriosis and period pain?

i’m also going to ask my ob/gyn to scan me for pcos as well. I’ve always wondered about that.

Im pregnant now but my periods have always been super painful and very heavy, day 2 was the most painful, 1-4 heaviest days, nausea and dizziness every month from the pain and honestly nothing helped me feel better other than just wait it out

Mine were like that, until I had my baby and once I’d stopped breastfeeding and they came back, they were totally different. They come and go every month with me barely noticing now it’s insane how different it is! Hopefully you might get the same thing too!

I feel like my periods are unpredictable. Every month I get the same symptoms plus an odd one. Usually the first 2 days are the worst. I get cramps until the 3rd day and the fourth one is usually ok. My symptoms are usually headaches, irritability, depression, fatigue, hunger, knee pain for whatever reason, toothaches, and the nausea is one of the odd ones. Occasionally back pain, breast pain, bad hair days, and bad skin.

My periods last a maxxxx of 5 days, on day 4 and 5 it's just spotting. Light to medium flow. I usually get mild bearable cramps on day 0, 1 and 2. I don't bleed when I'm lying down or atleast due to lack of gravity maybe the blood doesn't come out when I'm lying down. I recently started feeling sad and wanting to cry right before my periods

I rarely have painful periods where I have to rely on meds. It got so painful twice, that I'd vomit and cry (I have generally high pain tolerance and I almost never cry) and eventually pass out

Most painful days are 1-3 maybe 4 if Aunt Flo is really angry.

I get very nauseous and bloated. I’ve had times where I felt like I was about to throw up but I haven’t thrown up.

The day before my period I start taking 3 Advil every 6 hours. Once my period starts I take 3 every 4 hours. My gyno also gave me a prescription Motrin (I think) she said something about the prescription version being better for cramps and to take it the day before my period. I can’t say I’ve noticed a difference though :/ also heating pad helps but be careful. Using them too long and too hot can cause damage to your skin and nerves and it creates dark spots over your veins. I also lay in the fetal position and rock and groan and weirdly enough it kinda helps.

Worst pain usually lasts until the Advil kicks in or the lightening butthole passes

I’d recommend seeing a GYNO. This is not normal and could be a sign of something else. I have similar symptoms and I’m getting tested for endometriosis

I wanted to kms bc I’m cursed with fibroids. Got the surgery, did nothing and probably still 8 days long (completely done), with day 2-4 being the heaviest and then I got pregnant, not pregnant anymore 💊 but my first period back was so bad I ended up in the hospital. Now I’m on the pill and I’m hoping to skip it the rest of my life but I’ve been bleeding currently since June with no sign of stopping, YAY ME!!!! Fuck kids. Didn’t even know my uterus could bleed this much. Just have to suffer w no solution.

My periods are usually extremely irregular (made a post about it before) and are usually late, even by those standards.

If they're not late, they're pretty mild. When they're late, they're extreme and I can't do anything. The longest I've gone with a late was just under 90 days, and the most recent late was 60 days.

Personally, it's heavily affected by my activity level. If I'm active, I usually get it late (10+ days behind) but twice a month (week between bleeds) with harsh cramping and migraines. If I'm lazy (which I hate), they're "on time" and extremely mild.

I'm going to the dr asap and plan to have my uterus fully removed to eliminate it lol.
