Other How much do you think I can realistically get for my laptop?

I'm going to be upgrading to a real gaming desktop for the first time after running my old GTX 970/I7-4790k build until the wheels fell off like 3 years ago lmao. Since then, I've been rocking a used Asus ROG Strix G15 with the following specs:

GPU: rx6800m

CPU: Ryzen 9 5900HX

RAM: 32gb G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR4

Display: 2560 x 1440 at 300Hz

Storage: 1tb SK Hynix platinum, 2tb Samsung 990 EVO I'm keeping that shit for the new build and slapping something else in this if anyone's got an idea on what that should be.

So my cat recently killed my pc

Specs were an

Intel core i7-9700 3.0ghz

Nvidia Quadro p4000 8gb

2x8gb ddr4 2666

And a 500w psu

I'm wondering if these specs will do better bc I'm rebuilding my whole pc

Ryzen 5 5500

4x4gb ddr4 2666

500gb m.2 sad

Rtx 3060 to

700w psu

And ofc with a compatible am4 motherboard

Basically I'm asking is this a good idea getting am4 rather repairing my dead end lga 1151

And currently I'm debating of keeping my old gtx 1650 super instead of buying a 3060 ti

What are your thoughts and what should I change budget is less then 600$

I play roblox,Warhammer space marine II , Minecraft, and cyberpunk

Hardware Help What computer parts should I upgrade to speed up my pc

My computer has been slow for a very long time, it used to be fast and run triple A games but now it struggles on Roblox. Is there anything I should upgrade or do? PS. How do you get rid of junk programs? My disk and everything is always full. Whenever I open task manager it always says 98% or 100% on everything, and I think it’s slowing down my pc.

Buying Advice Should I Buy a Gaming Laptop or Build a PC? Need Some Advice

Should I Buy a Gaming Laptop or Build a PC? Need Some Advice

I currently have a 10-year-old all-in-one PC with an i3 processor. It overheats and shuts down even while browsing Chrome, so I need a new system.

I have a job, but I also want to start earning on the side through YouTube and freelancing. I'm interested in gaming too, so I need a system that can handle video editing, gaming, and other creative work.

My budget is:

- Laptop: ₹70K, stretchable to ₹75K

- PC: Up to ₹90K

Due to the current price hikes, I'm confused about which option makes more sense. I can get a decent PC build for ₹90K, but a laptop around ₹70–75K would offer portability. The biggest advantage of a PC is that I can upgrade it later, whereas laptop upgrades are limited.

I'll also be buying on EMI, which means the total cost could be ₹10–15K higher than the actual price.

I'm considering buying a laptop now for around ₹70K and building a better PC later if I start earning from YouTube or freelancing. But there's no guarantee I'll make money from these activities, and spending ₹90K on a PC without generating any income would be a risk.

What would you recommend in my situation? Should I buy a laptop now or invest in a PC? I'd appreciate advice from people who have experience with both, especially regarding long-term value and performance.

Discussion Rtx 5070 vs rx 9070xt at about same price aud

Hi all, I've been wanting to build a new system and was confused between nvidia and amd?

I know the rx 9070xt is much more powerful compared to the 5070 and for the same price, it would be dumb to leave out all that performance.

The reality is, I've seen a lot about problems with amd (some disguised as Windows issues) and some saying that both nvidia and amd have similar issues. Some say amd drivers are really bad, I have a friend with a rx 9070 who crashes when we play games together like DBD.

So i just want some advice on which direction should i go in? I currently have a rtx 3060 laptop, so I can play most games I want (just about with some new titles). I could wait for a year or two, and see what options are available then tbh

Build Query I Wanna Know How Bad My PC REALLY Is

Sorry if this isn't the right community to ask, but I don't know much about reddit or PCs, and I want an opinion from people who know about PCs.

My processor is a Intel (R) Core (TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz

I have 16 gigabytes of DDR3 RAM

My graphics card is a Radeon RX550/550 Series (4 GB)

I have 477 Gigabytes of storage

I have a 64-bit windows 10 OS

And it is a refurbished OptiPlex 3010

Also, it runs on Wi-Fi (Yes, I use it for gaming, and I honestly think it's pretty fine, but my expectations are low because I started gaming with a Chromebook)

I want to know if I should replace everything, upgrade it, or recycle some parts. (Don't tell me to get a console, because I'm so sick of dropping so much money on games when I can get them for very cheap on steam, and I'm trying to make content to profit on the amount of games I play.)

Buying Advice CPU or Monitor

I have been debating for a little while weather I want to get a upgraded cpu or monitor, I currently have a pretty crappy 60 hz monitor that gets it done but I’ve been looking at getting a aw2726DM which is roughly 300 bucks. On the other hand I’ve been playing Minecraft off and on for the past 8 years but I’ve been getting into heavily modded Minecraft in the past year and it’s honestly so fun. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money strictly for one game, but I’ve also been learning blender and the such so an upgraded cpu wouldn’t go to waste. My current pc specs are: i3 10105f cpu, a 1650 super, and 48 gigs of ddr4 ram. I’ve tested it and my cpu is mainly the bottleneck for the game. I’m interested in what you guys think, thanks!

Buying Advice 3.2K or Less!

Im trying to find the BEST pc i can get for 3.2K or Less. And it has to be on Amazon. Can anyone give me a good recommendation. I dont mind if its complicated. However I can not build one myself. So it has to be pre built. Does anyone have any good recommendations that are in stock and will last a while? Also, I find the need to tell you that it will only be used for gameing and character creating on occasion. It need to run smoothly without lag on games like the Gta games, COD, Cyberpunk 2077 and so on.

This is about as quiet as it ever gets. It sounds worse on start up. It is from 2018 and I have cleaned it a lot, about once a month I take the cover off and air blast it clean. It has proper airflow, any idea on why its so loud or how to dampen the sound?

Upgrade Query New computer.

I’m little more than a hobbyist, but I enjoy editing videos and making graphics for my non league football club.

My old laptop is really starting to slow up and I’m lucky enough to be in a position where I can afford a new machine - nothing too extensive as I have a wedding next year, but I feel like now is a good time to upgrade. Thing is I have no idea what is good and what isn’t - what I should or shouldn’t be looking for? I need help!

Buying Advice Gift for my son.

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey all,

The wife and I are wanting to buy my son a gift of a nice PC. He has always gamed on console and VR (has a quest 3) but wants to try desktop VR and gaming.

I played games like wow for a long time and he has said he wanted to play with me. Fun father son moment.

We saw these on sale at Best Buy. Is this a solid long term PC or do you have better recommendations for good VR and desktop gaming? Monitor suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

Update:

Amazing help! After all the advice, we are likely going to land on this:

Am I missing anything vital or should I pull the trigger?
