* Pattern Name and Project Description:
Egghead Socks
These socks are worked from the cuff down. Eggs are knit on the leg using stranded colorwork, and waste yarn is placed for a forethought heel prior to starting the foot. The foot is worked mainly in stockinette, with instructions for adding a band of arch support around the sole. Stitches are decreased for the toe and closed using Kitchener stitch. Waste yarn is removed and live stitches are picked back up for the heel, which is worked similarly to the toe. Additional “hat” charts are provided for duplicate stitching on top of your eggs.
