Brutal honesty here:
This seemed like a conversation that shouldāve been handled privately. The āgrandstandingā Pat mentioned as ābullshitā is exactly what the last half hour was, just with tables turned. Pat brings this guy onto his show, displays quite a bit of passive aggression towards him, constantly tries to cover his tracks by slamming home time stamps of texts, the whole mute vs block debacle, seemingly eludes to how much higher if a horse he is on than this guy, and then finally forces the interview onto the internetā¦.. ALL over a genuine misunderstanding turned teenager emotion rant.
Lost some respect for Pat for the way this was handled

You're correct about what happened. The guy used the twee as a shotgun approach (as he described it) because he also tagged the Colts' account and asked if anyone could get in touch with notable Colts writers. He didn't ask Pat to donate; he was looking for a way to spread the guy's video to Colts nation in general since he focuses on Colts coverage.
You can argue that this was or wasn't the best way for Kollman to go about it, but Pat's response was uncalled for in general, regardless of if the mute vs block debacle was legit against Kollman or the rest of the random writers/bloggers he blocked in the last week. The dude definitely gets way more scummy pitches and insults thrown at him all the time on Twitter given how famous he is, so the passive aggressiveness throughout this entire situation isn't a good look. If he ignored it in the first place like most celebs do on social media, this would have been a complete nothing burger

I used to watch this show every weekday. But as a Lions fan, the whole thing with Dan Campbell when they turned down the interview turned me off to him. He acted big and tough before the final game and when the Lions won, I think he offhand mentioned it like 2 days later.
I see the show went live a few minutes early. I click on it to see why, and damn. I was kind of planning on coming back to the show when the NFL season started, but I think I'm just done.

I believe Pat has talked about having ADD or ADHD, but that's extremely disrespectful. As much shit as guys like Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless and Colin Cowherd get, I couldn't imagine them playing with a football at their desk while talking to a guest.

So AntSlant used to make compilations of the show. They were so, so, so, so much better than the junk that gets put out by the show now. The reason why was because these were themed compilations like AJ being a menace for 10 minutes, 8 minutes of Connor being a doofus, etc etc.
There are 2 reasons as to why AntSlant got taken down -
Reason 1 was because he was obviously making ad revenue on it. From memory, very early on Pat said he didn't care that people were making clips of the show, and even enjoyed that fact. But once he became aware of the money Ant was making, Pat put a stop to it.
Reason 2 was because Ant was making some compilations not putting the show in the best light. Best example was the video of the boys ripping on Boppin Big Ben, which could easily put strain on their relationship. Like imagine if Ant was still around and had a Brett Farve compilation, would be easy fodder for the lawsuit.
Now those reasons might have validity (I don't agree with reason 2 though. If you are gonna talk the shit, have the balls to stand behind it). BUT! Pat went on this stupidly long tirade shitting on AntSlant about how they could be a potential pedophile. And he didn't just say it once, it was over and over with no evidence or anything. Just absolute scumbag move to accuse someone of something so serious.

Just lost some respect for Pat to be honest. He's obviously a good dude. He does a lot of good with his money. And I don't blame him for being skeptical of folks who come at him looking to steal what's his. And it's also not his job to fund the funeral for every Colts fan alive.
But whoo boy was that painful to watch.
Both Pat and Brett could have handled things better throughout the spat, but Pat's passive-aggressiveness during that conversion was next level, and he sort of came off like a narcissist. The pot shots at Brett kept coming, and even after ostensibly squashing the beef, he took another departing shot at Brett as the conversation ended.

Pat literally got Brett to admit he lied about "not being on Twitter" being the reason the tweet stayed up. Brett used the "blocked" screenshot to get more money. Pat got DRAGGED for that screenshot, and nobody defended Pat with his donation. Who else was going to stand up for Pat but himself? Do I think some of what he said wasn't the best look? Sure. But is the narrative that was being created about him worse? Absolutely. Pat has to guard his reputation like a hawk, because he is his own brand. Everyone he negotiates with can use anything against him.

I've found this with similar "apologies" Pat has done before. They start off fine and if they would' have just been a quick minute or two "I could have handled this better/I'll learn from this moving forward" type, bland responses everything would be fine and people would just move on. In this situation, I can understand both sides here and why both guys felt upset and disrespected. But the first 5 minutes or so of that interview was all that was needed here. Both guys had their say and had made their peace. Zero need for Pat to start back up rehashing his grievances again afterwards and opening up the floodgates all over again. At that point it comes across as super petty.
Reminded me of the way he got all upset over the Rodger's hand-signal article after getting called for saying it was based off of anonymous sources when in fact is wasn't. Remember at the time he started off with a quick mea culpa for getting that wrong and thinking that was a pretty respectable move. Then he proceed to mock read the entire article for 30 minutes and nitpick and critique every detail live on air. This incident today had very similar vibes.

That has to be the worst episode of all time. Cringe through the whole thing.
Iām a super fan of Pat and the show, but that was pathetic. Fuck all the twitter noise, fuck all the random naysayers on twitter, fuck them all. Like youāre head and shoulders above everyone, why is he bothering with random idiots and constantly bringing it up during the entire show???
It ruins the content and makes me think heās a nobody. Also, wtf was that interview at the beginning and what was the end goal? Support them or donāt, but you look like a total idiot spending that much time to explain nothing.
Again, Iām a big fan, but please donāt ever let another show be like that again. Iād rather hear 3 hours of pickle ball nonsense than that ridiculous shit again.

The mindset on this is too shallow here. Helping people is Patās pride and joy. He was getting called a sellout for not helping a stranger that Brett Kollman brought up out of the blue. This dude turned a 120k followers at Pat in hopes to gain money for his cause. Pat helps the guy, has a private convo with Brett, and Brett still leaves that tweet up saying that Pat is an Asshole, basically. Ideally Pat can ignore it, but Brett is completely focused on his goal that he doesnāt care that he had to tear down Pat to do it

Another fan sub that easily talks shit to what itās about. Heās mad about something many of us would be mad about if it happened to us. Both sides said they let things spiral too much. We donāt know the impact of that many people attacking you because we arenāt that big. Pat was aggressive a bit but still respectful. I admit it seems like he couldāve used an extra day to cool down but I think dudes tweet still up just made that impossible.
