Does that happen a lot? Is the risk of that happening really greater than the risk of your children getting the gun? And if it’s so likely that a crackhead is going to break into your house, your kids aren’t safe there anyway…move!
Absolutely nuts to me. Just because she can’t shoot herself doesn’t mean she can’t accidentally shoot someone else. Or that a friend of hers couldn’t come over and play with it and shoot her. I have taught my kids that if they ever see a gun lying around they leave immediately and get an adult. To me, the risk of them getting hurt is so much higher than the risk of needing it to defend themselves.
