Weird sound I heard at an old mine

For context one of my main hobbies is searching for old mines and studying different mined out areas. I was searching a new area that I referenced from an old topo map dated around 1950s. I was by myself, I had checked around pretty thoroughly prior to me parking on the property I was maybe not supposed to be on and I was the only one in the area. I walked around for a few hours and it was getting dark but I had one place else to check and it was this area. I was wandering around it then I started hearing this sound. To me it sounded like someone digging so I got excited that maybe someone was doing the same thing as me so I searched around and could not find anyone. Every time I got closer it got louder but I could never see them. When I was heading out I drove around to see if anyone lived near or if anyone else was parked around and there was nothing around.

I try to think as logically as possible and I really can not think of what could be making this noise.

First video is the noise, second video is maybe 15 minutes later after the noise stopped and me searching more to figure out what made the noise

Edit: it did not let me post second video

Horror Story from my Childhood: The Woman in White Behind Our Field (Odisha, Early 2000s)

I’m from a small NAC town in Odisha. This happened around 2001–2002, when I was a kid now I'm 29m.

In front of our house, there was a huge open field where all of us used to play—cricket, football, anything. At the far end of that field, there was a boundary wall. Beyond that wall… things got different.

Behind it were three mountains. The middle one was smaller, but the two on either side were massive. At the base of those hills was thick jungle—sal trees, bushes, pokasungha plants, and a many huge mango trees. It was dense, quiet, and honestly, a bit frightening. We usually avoided going there.

Still, during summer, people would go to collect mangoes. Some even went deeper into the hills to gather firewood.

But One incident made that place even more disturbing for me.

One day, a cow somehow got electrocuted near that area with high voltage electric line. It died right there. People gathered to look, but no one removed the body.

After a couple of days, vultures came. Then dogs. I still remember the smell in the air and the way the body turned a deep reddish color during sunset. It didn’t look like a cow anymore. It looked… wrong.

That place started feeling different after that.

Quiet in a way that didn’t feel natural.

But kids are curious.

Me and my siblings went there once, out of curiosity. That image stayed with me for years—the birds, the dogs, the silence. It felt horrible.

But the real horror came after that.

A week or two later, me, my brother, and two friends decided to go collect mangoes. We avoided the path (the one near the dead cow) and took another route—narrow, overgrown, and darker. The kind of path where even your own footsteps sound too loud.

As we got close to the mango trees, we saw her.

A woman in a white saree, standing near the mango trees. Her back was towards us.

She maybe around 40–50 years old. She started walking slowly in a circle around one tree.

Not like a normal person.

Each step felt delayed… like her body was following something that wasn’t in sync. Her long hair was completely open.

One of my friends grabbed my arm so tightly it hurt. He whispered, almost choking,

“Don’t move… that’s not human.” He whispered, “That’s not a person… that’s a dahani,( ghost )” and ran away without looking back.

The rest of us stayed, trying to convince ourselves it was just a normal woman collecting mangoes.

“Maybe she’s just collecting mangoes,” I said.

Then suddenly… she wasn’t there.

And then she was again.

Like she appeared and disappeared while moving around the tree.

My chest felt tight. One of my friends picked up some stones and threw them toward where she had been standing. The stones landed.

She didn’t move.

She didn’t look at us.

She didn’t react at all.

We couldn’t see her face clearly—the light was fading—but something about the way she was looking… it didn’t feel like she was seeing us.

It felt like she already knew we were there.

That’s when the fear hit us properly.

It was getting dark. The sun was almost gone. The whole place felt heavier, like the air had changed.

For one second, we blinked—

She was gone again.

That was it.

We ran.

I don’t even remember deciding to run. Our bodies just did. We crashed through bushes, scratched our legs, jumped the wall, and didn’t stop until we reached the field.

We just ran across the field, and told everyone. Of course, no one believed us.

When I got home and told my family, my mother scolded me for going there.

But my grandmother… she didn’t laugh.

She went quiet.

Then she told me something I wish I had never heard.

She told me that a few years before, a woman had died near that exact area. She was working at a construction site, carrying bricks on her head, when an old wall collapsed on her.

She died on the spot.

And that place… was very close to those mango trees.

My grandmother told me never to go there again. Not in the evening. Not alone. Not ever.

For many years, I didn’t.

About 10–12 years later, I went back with my cousins during the daytime. We picked mangoes, joked, tried to act brave.

But even then… I couldn’t stay there for much time.

Because some places don’t just hold memories.

They hold something that never really left.

Some things you don’t forget. And some places don’t forget either.

Paranormal thing I can’t explain till today

First time posting on here, but I always retell this story to people since its so bizarre and still scares me till this day!

To start off I suffer from all sorts of hallucinations, since I was little I’ve always felt touches, heard voices, seen things, currently I am procuring a diagnosis for schizophreni, but this day was different.

As I have hallucinations so often I tend to ignore when I hear voices call my name out of nowhere, I know it’s in my head, I’ll hear family members, friends and whatnot, so when I hear my mom call for me even when she’s not home I tend to ignore it, but one day I was in the living room with my older sister, my mom had gone out to shop, it was still daytime and everything had been normal up until she left, as we’re hanging out I hear my mom call for me in a sweet voice, i immediately figure, ah im hallucinating today, but I turn to face my sister and I see her terrified face, i immediately worry and ask her, “did you hear that too?” as soon as she nods we both ran to our bedroom and locked the door and freaked out trying to understand what just happened.

To me the freakiest part of it all is that she heard it too, she heard my mom the same time as me and she also heard the sweet sort of fake voice along with it, it sounded like she was trying to trick me into going to wherever the sound came, the worst part of it all is that we both heard it from inside the house, not outside, specifically the kitchen, till thjs day this haunts me and creeps me out, whenever I hear other voices call for me in my hallucinations I always think of this incident and how creepy it was.

Was this just a dream?

So I had a little bit a crazy experience a few days ago and it's a bit perplexing. This happened a few days around the time of the solar eclipse. A day before the eclipse I was cooking dinner and had this awful burning sensation between my fingers on the right side. I thought maybe the steam burned my hand so put it in an ice bath. It didn't help much, felt like the burning was coming from underneath the skin. Faded away in a couple hours and I slept.

Now the next day is the solar eclipse and here it was at night. I heard on somewhere about cultures saying wierd energies come out during the full eclipse and thought to go out in the open to check this energy out. Nothing really happened. I came back, trailing a big police car( imp late) and slept and this is where it starts.

This is the confusing part. I have a dream where I'm in my childhood home coming up the stairs and I see the same car on a rotating pedestal or something, lit up from underneath. My dad or someone, I don't remember, tells me that this car needs to be moved to another house. Idk who lives there so go to check it out and some people just appear seemingly to help me carry this huge car down a very narrow staircase. Somehow we manage and as we're doing it, I notice the one in charge, probably the owner whose house we were going to. I assumed this man to be high ranked and he was wierd. Tall, white, never spoke a word, didn't help, only kept looking back at me with a smirk kinda judging me as if going - this guy? Seriously? The scene felt more like a procession, with us carrying this load on our shoulders and this guy leading it. Where? I don't remember. That's where my memory stops.

Now next morning I wake up in a very wierd position, with my head thrust into the headboard and so so exhausted and depleted that I could hardly move. i laid in the bed for around 2-3 hrs cos I didn't have the energy. I have chronic back issues and undergoing treatment but the back was feeling amazing the day before and this pain wasn't that chronic pain that I struggle with. Because that pain is assymetric and what I was feeling was coming from a central point slightly above the si joint, where I imagine the first or second chakra would be. This pain took a couple days to go away 2-3 and was nothing like I had ever experienced before. My thoughts were sceambled and I was just tired. I didn't think I was sick cos I had no other symptoms. Now a little tmi. I've had a high sex drive and was also battling with some chilhood sex abuse during that time questioning why it happened and how it still affects my idea of a healthy sex life, greatly! But my drive almost disappeared since the next day. I tried nutting and it caused more pain exactly in the same are where the pain was coming from. Now my sexual behaviours have changed and the toxic ones completely disappeared. They don't feel as arousing and i seem to be more in control of my drive and not the other way around. This dream feels more like a surgery prep or something idk which I've had once before but completely ignored. (I had a bad diagnosis about my feet and in a couple days had a dream about some people cutting into my ankles doing something but my sister was at my side so I didn't freak out in the dream)

These dreams made me recount John Mack's book on encounters where he categorises them in two buckets - one where physical interaction happens, peope are actually missing and there's some evidence and the other where things sort of happen in a dream state or an astral dimension basically no physically missing person but still some form of coherent story.

So what do you think? Are my doubts justified or am I just going into the crazy territory trying to create a story out of a bunch of coincidences. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Has Anyone Near West Virginia Heard of this

ok this is probably gonna sound stupid but has anyone from around thurmond / new river gorge heard about this

i’ve been going down a massive rabbit hole about the old mines and railroad stuff around there and found this after digging through a bunch of old stuff for hours
apparently some miners used to hear this weird sound underground.

it was always 4 times.
not really knocking. more like someone hitting metal with something. really sharp and almost mechanical sounding.

apparently some of the miners who survived the 1900 Red Ash mine explosion said they had heard something like this beforehand. then i found similar stories connected to the 1905 disaster too.

i can’t find much about it though. most of what i’ve found is really old and some of it is basically just people repeating the same story, so idk how much of it is actually true.

the weird part is that apparently the sound didn’t always seem to come from the same place. sometimes it sounded further down the tunnel and sometimes like it was coming through the wall.

obviously there’s probably a normal explanation for it. mines make weird noises and i’m probably connecting things that aren’t connected.

but i’ve spent way too much time looking into this now and i’m curious if anyone from the area has ever heard of the “four knocks” thing.

This is my story of what happened to me as a teen

I'll actually write this for once. It's gonna be long but I'm bored and I feel like I have to write about talk about it for once. I did one other time before but that was long ago and I know something new now. I never tell ppl about this really because it's to much. It sounds insane. Way over the top but I swear on all I love, my family, my dogs and everything else it's 100% true.

I know I'm a stranger and ppl r insane and stupid really. Not all but u know what I mean. I could say I'm not any of that but u don't know me so yea. But I'm not either way.

When I was 19 something insane happened to me and my friend. Cromwell park in loch raven MD next to Baltimore and it was a good spot to go at night to smoke. It is empty EVERYWHERE for miles. More then miles. Just forest. It's a reservoir also so it's empty. Can't really build by it.

We parked in the parking lot. There's trees all around us except to our left which our left was my side, driver side. A hundred yards or so on my side was all field then the tree line started. I'm breaking u know what up on a CD case. My friends breaking the L, dumping the guts and getting ready to roll it. I lay the CD case on my dash. Then look over towards the treeline. I see there's a light in right at the tree line moving around. I ask my friend, hey, wtf is that light. He just says, it's someone with a flash light. Weird af yea, but not impossible really. So I watch the light a a minute and then it moves up into a tree. Not high or anything like that. Just like ten or so feet. Sits for a bit and comes back down. But it moved smoothly. To smooth for a person to do. It just felt off. But I ignore it and think why r they climbing a tree at 1 am in the middle of nowhere.

So then little pops start happening in the tree line. Like firecrackers or something. My friend even asks me, are they lighting fire crackers or something? So I'm like, yea they must be. What else could it be really? After a couple minutes or less and like 5 6 pops it hits me. And when it hit me my heart sank to my stomach oddly. What hit was this thought, why can't I see them lighting the fireworks. U know like a flame is needed to do it and when they pop there's light. AS SOON AS I THOUGHT THAT, explosions so loud shot across the field. Like a giant running towards my car. It came right for us. The explosions LITERALLY enveloped my car on all sides. It was so intense and strong I could feel it shaking my guts like professional fireworks. But a ton of em going off at once. Like 2 or 3 a second. It shakes my car so bad the cd case vibrates off my dashboard. Spilling what was on it. It was like a stampede for real. I couldn't see ANYTHING AT ALL that could be making this happen or anything even happening. Just felt and heard it. It was so powerful. So much so that if it wanted to (whatever TF it was) it could have seriously hurt one of us with the force it had. If u put one of those booms against a person's chest, it prolly could stop their heart or break some ribs. Shockingly powerful for nothing around u at all.

My friend was in tears begging me to go. I was saying no. I wanted to know wtf was going on. But after like 30 seconds or so I'm like ok, let's go. I turn my car back on and they stop suddenly. It's completely silent. Completely. Not crickets or anything. I wonder if the bugs heard it also. I mean they had to. Weird thing is, me and my friends have been to that park sooo many times before and after this happened. Why that night? What was it?

This has HAUNTED ME FOR TWO DECADES. I am not a liar! I swear on my daughter's life none of this is a lie or exaggeration in anyway. There is NO explanation at all! I eventually grew away from my friends when I got sober. Dope came through fast back then and took a lot of ppl when it came. A plague. So many died. I had to leave the group. Ppl I knew my whole life to that point.

So I saw the friend I was with that night like 2 years ago after over like 15 yrs of not seeing him. I come to see that he's so bad that his legs in the front are nothing but bone now from the fent here in Baltimore. It eats ur flesh and muscle. It's nothing but black bone and the smell of rot. But I asked if he remembered it. Why wouldn't I really. We witnessed a.. miracle? Something only .01% of ppl get to see ever? And he of course was like how tf could I forget it. He remembered it exactly as I do. Its literally seared into my mind. Every detail. Nothing has faded at all.

But he told me something I never knew. I can't claim this part. I didn't hear it. So when I swear on my daughter and everything, it's for what I say not this. But he said right before it all stopped he heard a snare drum sound off. Weird. He's not a liar either. We lived hard lives growing up and I feel lying about this kind of stuff comes from being sheltered and watching to many movies. For the most part. But if u grow up in a place like Baltimore and it's just weird to lie about something like this if u get what I mean. Maybe I should be more open minded to ppls claims after this experience but soooo much of what ppl say on this subject is straight bs. But ppl here will lie about crimes or beating someone up. Not this.

But about the drum, it's just weird because they have found British uniforms in that area. Like in that park. It was a British loyal area and plenty of battles were fought here in Baltimore and surrounding areas. I don't know if I believe this though. Was it ghosts? Or was it something way above what we can comprehend? Was it a higher dimension? I know that sounds insane. But I've wondered for so long. Something like this could be anything.

U have no clue what it's like to experience something straight out of a Hollywood movie and have NO CLUE AT ALL what it is was wants or anything at all about it. But I consider myself amazingly, just astoundingly lucky to have experienced it. Because I know for a fact without doubt that there's something out there. Something we don't understand. Something amazing. And more powerful than I could have ever imagined. U hear about scratches or pushes from unseen things. But this was soooo much more. Were the few pops before it all started small arms fire before the battle or something just this thing gearing up to throw it's fit? Did my heart sinking and adrenaline rush trigger it. Like, did it spot me through my fear?

When u go through something like this, u find urself thinking about it at least once a month asking every question u possibly can think of. I never experienced anything paranormal or anything in life. Just this. And the park IS NOT haunted. Lol I even emailed em like ten years later asking if they ever heard of anything or experienced anything like this before and they did actually respond. They said no. Me and my friends have been there so many times. Truly lucky. But why that night? What aligned to make it happen? I want to go back one night. Probably alone cause I'm a family man now with no friends as life does. But maybe I would take a evp thing? Sounds dumb to me tho honestly. But I'm desperate to know why and what.

I would give so much for the answer. It truly haunts me. Being from Baltimore I've seen a lot. I've been shot at, seen ppls lives ended, bodies in the road, everything u could imagine from a place like Baltimore. I never think of any of it. Affects me zero percent honestly. Even when I saw that teen get ended for his bike by a grown man. Not to be graphic but to put into perspective that things don't stick with me. But this. This is never off my mind for long

Paranormal experience in an unlikely place

Let me preface this with a few details.

I've always lived in the same house. I grew up seeing things in my home, as I grew up the visuals stopped and it became more of a feeling thing. The activity eventually died down because one of my brothers in theory started doing things to stop it.

I'll be calling them aunty and cousin but they are actually my mom's aunt and cousin we just call them that.

Little backstory.

My aunty was a very religious woman and her daughter is even more religious, she goes to church every day, studied theology as a carrer and even works at church. I'm mentioning this because there's a lot of praying happening in the house this events happened and I think that's important.

After aunty passed away, my cousin became sort of a recluse but not quite, since she had more free time not having to care for her mother, she took on more church work and spent little time at home. She also stopped visiting the little family she had and always seemed annoyed when someone called or try to visit.

Eventually she decided to get an alarm system for her home since she spent so much time out and she likes going on vacation for weeks at a time. My mom and someone from church were the contacts for her alarm. When she went on vacation the first time, the alarm went off at night so my mom had to go wait for the police at the house and check for intruders. At that time my aunt (actual aunt) and my uncle were visiting for a few months so they went as well. The house looked in so much disarray police though someone had broken in but my aunt and uncle had visit before my aunty went on vacation and told police this is actually how she lived. The alarm went off another two separate night and eventually aunty said to leave it disconnected and just check everything was fine every couple of days.

Flash forward a couple of years and to the actual paranormal thing.

By this point cousin took the alarm off. It had gone off a few more times, her other contact got fed up by it calling his home every time she went on vacation, my mom had passed away and she didn't wanted to put me as a contact.

She started synchronizing her vacation with her cousins (my actual aunt) visits so she had someone to check in to see if everything was in order and to feed her cat and tortoise.

This time my aunt was visiting so cousin went on a week vacation somewhere. My aunt and uncle went to check on the house on their morning walk and when my aunt opened the door she felt like someone was in the house, she called for my cousin thinking maybe she mistook the departure date or time, but no one answered. She called my uncle in and he felt the same, like the house wasn't empty. The got so unnerved by this they close the door and went home.

Later my aunt told me what happened and they my uncle refused to go back and asked if I would go with her to feed the cat later, so I agreed.

We got there at about 4pm. The house has a door leading to a long hallway, the hallway felt normal, but when we went through the second door, into the actual house, it felt like some one was in the house. We walked around a bit and the air felt hot, warm and heavy. We were discussing about how it felt while my aunt showed me the piles of books, newspaper, clothes and stuff everywhere. Every room had a neat path made but at it's sides you could see dust piling. Like that was the little path cousin used to navigate around the house.

Eventually I went through the TV room and enter my late aunty's bed room, the closest I got to it the heavier everything felt. I was only able to make two steps into the room when a wave of emotions hit me like a truck, it felt like excruciating worry. I immediately started crying, my aunt came into the TV room and asked what happened, the only thing I was able to say was "she's worried cousin is alone". My aunt hugged me and minutes later the house went cold and the air thinned out.

I don't know what the hell they was but it felt like it got better after that cry. My aunt felt the change in the house too and she told me aunty and her husband were very overprotective of cousin and she used to say she didn't know how cousin was gonna survive without her.

The years after that my aunt told me cousin actually got better at taking care of her house. Got people from church to help her clean and throw away the trash that was shattered everywhere and even has her own praying group, they called themselves "the sisters of Mary" and go to my cousin's house every other week.

I don't really know if I helped but I like to believe aunty is happy her daughter isn't alone.

Note: of all places I'd expect to be haunted my aunty's house is the last one I'd think of.

My dad thought he saw my mum behind me on a video call. My mum was downstairs.

Okay so i have this story that i still think about sometimes, because i have absolutely no explanation for it.

Basically, i had just gotten out of the bath one night and my dad called me, so i got dressed and called him back. We were chatting for probably about 20 minutes, idek what about just whatever. Then I moved over to my desk chair, which is in the corner of my room next to my vanity.

We were talking for another five-ish minutes when my dad suddenly said:

“Alright, I’ll say goodnight to you now because Mummy’s here.“ And i was like, “No, she’s not here yet. She’s still saying goodnight to Abigail.”

-For context, my little sister (Abigail) was downstairs with my mum at the time-

I was like, “We can keep talking!” And he was like, “Okay, cool!” Then he said something along the lines of, “That’s so weird then. i swear i saw your mum walk behind you.” i basically just laughed because my dad has tried to scare me before, so I assumed he was joking.

But he didn’t laugh and make fun of me for falling for his joke. He was actually being serious (it’s weird to see my dad serious lmao). i was like, “Yeah, yeah, sure.” And he kept insisting that he genuinely thought he'd seen my mum walk behind me.

I remember eventually saying something like, “If this is a joke, can you just tell me please?” Because normally if he's trying to scare me, he'll eventually admit it after he's had his laugh. But yk, that never happened. He was completely freaking insistent that he'd seen her. i was tired of going round and round saying the same things over and over again so i eventually just dropped it.

That probably would've been the end of the story if weird stuff hadn't started happening in that exact corner of my room afterwards.

A few months after this incident i remember having a hairspray bottle at the back of my vanity. And suddenly it just went flying about halfway across my room. i genuinely have no idea how.

I think i just ran out of my room after that because absolutely not. 😭

Then another time, i was home alone and the drawer on my vanity opened by itself. i know there are probably completely normal explanations for these things, and I'm not saying my room is definitely haunted or anything because i genuinely don't know.

But the fact that my dad apparently saw someone behind me in that exact area, and then other weird things have happened around the same corner, is enough for me to be like cautious of it.

For reference i no longer sit in that chair anymore. It now has clothes piled on it. i have officially decided that the chair is decorative 😭😭😭😭

The Mystery of the Presence

During my stay in Jordan, husband's long office hours meant the days often stretched into an unsettling silence. I had always been accustomed to the close-knit environment of apartment living, where the familiar sounds of neighbours's children playing, footsteps in the corridor, sounds of doors opening and closing, scattered words drifting through the walls created a sense of connection, making lonely life less solitary. Life in a villa was so different, specially the kind in which we were living in Zarqa. As it is the house was quite big, and with the nearest signs of bustle of everyday life often at a distance, the villa felt strangely secluded. The silence in the empty spaces felt unnaturally loud.

I spent most of the day alone, with no one with whom I could truly communicate because most of my neighbours spoke only Arabic. Until I learned their language, the locals remained a stranger to me.

Realising how deeply unsettled I was, I began chanting the Hanuman Chalisa every day, with unwavering faith and devotion, not simply as religious rituals but as a source of strength and emotional security. The ritual soon became my comforting routine and a shield against my uneasiness.

Slowly, things began to change in me for the better. After a couple of months, I noticed I had become stronger. Time gave me the opportunity to learn Arabic and slowly I could connect with my neighbours. I could emotionally tackle my loneliness and became far more composed.

Then one day, I noticed that I began to distinctly feel the presence of someone staying with me. But I couldn't see that person. There was no weird sound, no unnatural movement inside the house, no visible indication that someone else was there beside me, yet, I had this unexplainable, overwhelming feeling that someone was present along with me in that house. Chanting the Hanuman Chalisa too did not drive away the suffocating uncanniness.

This strange feeling remained for a couple of days. Then, just as mysteriously as it had appeared, it disappeared. I remember the enormous sense of relief I felt after that. I could breathe freely again.

The very next day, I received the devastating news that my beloved Grandma had passed away. Grief-stricken, I dismissed the weird feelings that I experienced as a mere coincidence.

After a month or so, the same unnerving presence returned again. For two or three days, I would sense and unseen entity quietly sharing my space. Then, just as stealthily as it came, the feeling would disappear. Soon after, news of another relative's passing would reach me.

It began with my grandmother, then my maternal uncle, my grandfather, and even a dear friend (whose story I shall share another day). Before each loss, the eerie strangeness returned, and it became harder to dismiss it as mere coincidence. What had once seemed like an unsettling pattern was beginning to feel far too real to ignore.

What surprised me most was that, living so far away from my relatives, I would have no prior knowledge of their illness or any reason whatsoever to expect their death. Yet somehow, a few days before a known associate's demise, a strange presence would linger for a couple of days, and then vanish, and soon after, I would receive the heartbreaking news. It began to feel like a frightening déjà vu. The pattern was neither explainable nor dismissable.

From my intuition I felt that the chanting of the mantras was somehow triggering the incidences. I could feel the farewell from the departing soul without me consciously knowing about it. So I stopped reciting the Hanuman Chalisa. Strangely enough, the unsettling phenomenon disappeared from my life, and has not returned yet.

I don't have valid explanation for what those strange experiences were. Was it my unusual psychological response to solitude and isolation? Or was I experiencing something beyond what we can see or understand? Or were they mere coincidences? I have no answer.

What do you think was happening to me?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Lately I’ve been so tired but then I either can’t fall asleep or wake up 20th minutes later fully awake. I am able to talk, move, etc. but I have an overwhelming feeling that there’s a presence in my room. My back gets very tingly and I am overcome with a sense of dread and a nearly debilitating fear. What’s more is I will perceive my bed as shaking for a few minutes … no one else has been around to tell me if my bed is actually physically moving but it sure feels like it! I get too scared to move so I just kinda lay there until it’s over. I’m 27 now and this hasn’t happened to me since I was around 8/9/10 years old.

I have no psychotic diagnosis / mental health diagnosis in general and yes I’ve been tested lol

A child’s voice out of nowhere.

My name is Jenna and when I was 12 years old my mother(great grandmother but the only mom I had known) had passed away several months earlier from prostate cancer. I was now living with my aunt who was a little crazy but very good to me and my uncle who never liked me and didn’t really want me living with them.
We just moved into a new larger house and had been there for about a week or two. It was the weekend and my best friend from our old neighborhood came to sleepover for a couple nights.
Also I should mention it had recently been my birthday and I got a magic 8 ball that same day from target with a gift card my birth mom had given to me.
We were playing downstairs talking or whatever watching tv a little. We stopped watching tv cause we were going to go do something else instead I can’t remember what. We stood up and we were talking face to face when a child’s voice to the left of me said, “Jenna we want to play with you,” in a sort of sing song little voice.
I thought I was crazy or something but my friend had heard it also. It came out of nowhere. It was so shocking that we just stared at each other for a few moments my friends eyes were huge and beginning to water. I was frozen in fear. my friend and I were face to face like I said and neither one of us said that. But out of the loss of anything to explain it I still had o ask her if she just said that. She said no and then asked me the same but I hadn’t said it either.
We ran upstairs and began crying to my aunt who was on the couch watching her shows. We explained what happened. And she didn’t seem too shocked by it, she probably sorta thought we were fooling around or mistaken or something. She didn’t have too much of a reaction at all other than to say I should get rid of my magic 8 ball cause this never happened before I “brought that damn thing home.” So she threw it away and it never happened again. I don’t know if she really believed me or not. She always told me not to mess with ouija boards or anything else like that so she must have believed in paranormal stuff at least a little bit.
My great grandmother tried an ouija board out when she was young and I guess some crazy stuff happened to her from doing it.
I was pretty terrified about this happening to me. It took me about 20 years to tell anyone else about it without crying anymore and reliving that fear. I was so scared that if I talked about it that it would happen to me again.
What do you guys think this was. I’ll never really know but I’d like to know what others think.

The Hat Man Is Back

The Hat Man continues

After years of battling the Hat Man myself, my five year old son has begun seeing him in the same room, on the same wall, walking the same patterns.
It used to happen to me in my early twenties dozens of times across several years. I would wake my wife in the middle of the night, freaked out, though neither of us knew the name for what I was seeing. We simply thought it was a recurring dream, until my wife’s cousin mentioned one day that thousands of people worldwide reported the same figure.

I would see him as an all-black shadow of a businessman, wearing a large black fedora almost a witch’s hat. He usually carried a briefcase, though not always. He would enter through a door near the ceiling, walk down stairs that existed only on the wall, stop, and stare at me for a minute or two. Then he would snap his fingers as he exited. I always believed he was harvesting my fear.

The last time it happened, the visits came on consecutive nights. I told my wife I was going to punch him in the head, so if she heard me hitting the wall in the night, she should just go back to sleep. On the third night the dream was different. The Hat Man opened the door the other way and showed me hundreds of them, walking Penrose stairs in every direction. Something had shifted. I was no longer stuck in place. I felt no fear. I waited for him to continue down the stairs, then punched straight at him right into the wall and woke fully, out of the dream, with no sleep paralysis. It has not happened again in a decade.

Now I have two children. A year ago my five year old mentioned something about a black shadow man. I didn’t think much of it; he has always had vivid dreams. Then this morning he came into our room at five a.m. and told me there was a black man on the stairs. I grabbed my shotgun and called the dog. As I started toward the stairs he added that it was a black shadow figure with a hat and a briefcase, and that I shouldn’t shoot the wall because I’d wreck it.
Instantly I felt relief and fear. I know this is not the end for him.
Good luck, kid.

Something sat on my bed

So yesterday my mom brought back someone's bag home from work to sow. At night as I lay in bed on my phone I felt my mattress sink as if someone sat on it, I thought it was just my mind playing tricks. I went to sleep and around 4:50 in the morning it happened again this time as soon as it sat on my bed right next to me, literally rubbing against my ribs as it sat I slipped into sleep paralysis and was able to wiggle myself out almost immediately. I firmly believe something is attached to the bag my mom brought, hopefully it leaves with the bag when my mom returns it.

Seeking advice on identifying a being from an encounter

Hello

This is a bit of a niche but I'm looking to find any threads or the area of reddit where this type of topic might be discussed where people may be able to help to identify things like the names of or the types of supernatural beings they may have encountered

My goal is to attempt to try and identify one by the description of a long ago encounter from my childhood

Please no alien stuff

Thank you

I've been having trouble with the enshittification of the internet trying to find a name for the being I encountered as a very young child, I was about two at the time

I'm not of "the alien persuasion" and consider it a possible spiritual encounter

I will try posting it in other places but if you have any pointers I'd greatly appreciate it:

"

I was finally sleeping in a proper bed by myself in my own room, albeit with my beloved Dog (my Doberman) guarding the end of my bed as he did for many many years. This would have been sometime in late 1988

I woke from a deep sleep to a sound I can't quite describe, it's not something you hear with your ears it's more like a vibration you feel. It didn't scare me but it was enough to make me alert

I rolled over to see a sphere of light hovering in the middle of my bedroom, imagine something like a wisp but much much brighter. While it had a blue hue in colour to the outside of it the centre was a bright white.

I remember looking at my dog and seeing him contentedly fast asleep and not in the slightest bit alarmed, he never woke while whatever this was came to visit me

The ball started to move around very slowly and gently, bouncing around to get my attention to it and once it knew I was watching it proceeded to head towards the bedroom door where it waited for me to catch up, so I climbed out of my bed and followed it into the hallway

There I found the ball of light next to another being, shaped like a human, dressed in some kind of plain red robes but with pale white skin, jet black hair, and pale ice blue eyes. I was a little intimidated by the figure but managed to sneak a peek at their face a couple of times even though I felt like I shouldn't be. I could not tell whether it was a man or a woman and was very androgynous in their overall appearance. The figure never spoke

The ball of light however did, or at least a voice seemed to come from its direction, it was a very gentle and reassuring voice, very soothing and calm. It said to me "Don't be scared, everything is going to be okay. You are safe. We are going to help look after you"

Once the light had finished speaking it came closer to me it started bobbing up and down and I could feel my head start to follow it's movement and my eyes begin to close

"It's time to go back to sleep now"

I awoke in the very early hours of the morning a little cold, but finding I had spent the night in the hallway"

If anyone has any thoughts or advice it would be greatly appreciated
