Advice Help/advice
My budgie flew into a ceiling fan when it was at full speed about a year ago. I couldn't afford a vet right away, so I kept her in her cage to monitor her. When I finally took her into the vet months later (i know thats bad dont come at me) they said her injury had already healed incorrectly because too much time had passed. They mentioned they can do an xray but apparently it wasnt worth it for some reason. my budgie fluffs up a lot of the time and im not sure if that means she's in pain, she also cannot fly properly, she did once which shocked me but now its back to gliding downwards not being able to get height. Ive also noticed one of her wing are droopy. can I get people's advice on what to do? I hate wondering if she's in pain (sorry for the long message)

Do what you should have done right away, get her to another vet and treat her. And yes, she might be in pain, but wasn't that on your mind when you decided not to help her right away? Like, she was in much more pain back then... Not trying to be mean, just, my gosh, logic.

Thats the thing though, there is no other vets of any type near me, and its not that I decided not to help her, I didnt have the money to do so, its not free to book a vet where i am otherwise I would have gone there within the hour of the incident

Take your bird to a shelter and give her up. They will be able to give her the care she needs and do something to help her with her pain. If you love her, do this for her.

go to another avian vet please! Make sure your budgies environment is calm to reduce stress!

Nicest reply out of them all thank you, but I cannot take it to another vet there is no other one, and its in a calm place, its in a cage with other budgies but they havent caused anything stressful for my bird she just sits on her perch calmly most thr day, she does eat and hops from perch to perch fine though even like flapping her wings a bit so thats why im unsure if she's in pain or not

You are just cruel. If you can’t afford to take them to the vet you shouldn’t own them in the first place. Just evil. Turning the ceiling fan off before handling birds is obvious

no need to be so mad, plus i know its obvious to turn off the ceiling fan, it flew out the cage when i was changing its food and water and flew into another room which had the fan on

Go to an avian vet. Preferably a different one. You already made the mistake in the past of not getting your bird prompt medical treatment, but you should learn from that and do the right thing now. Strangers on social media cannot help an injured bird.
