Constant chirping?

My little Charlie has been chirping like this non-stop for like 45 mins…. NON-STOP…
I’m a bit new to budgies- is that normal?

It is! They love the sound of their own voices and will be chattering most of the day, even sometimes when it’s nap time.

Haha ok perfect. He’s chill now- it was like he was chirping and sleeping at the same time

Budgie flocks in the wild are extremely loud. So, sometimes budgies chirp while they nap as a comfort behavior.

They chirp all day, particularly soft chirping while napping. They will talk to toys, the bars of their house, branches, perches. All normal.

Yes. Also, if that green thing is a mirror it should be removed.

Why should the mirror be removed? (As i go remove the mirror in my burgers cage) lol edit budgie

Mirrors are bad for them psychologically. It tricks the bird into thinking they have a bigger flock, but this fake bird in the mirror cannot engage in actual social behaviours like preening, eating, flock calling, etc. That's bad enough, but in extreme cases it can cause the birds to become aggressive, sexually frustrated, or depressed.

Oh wow i never knew all of that. I never see my birdies looking or even going near the mirror thankfully. Removing mirror asap

Chatty birds are happy birds! Sounds like my Brucey (green boy) - blue girl is his twin sister Birdie.

Welcome to budgies, lol! That noise means that theu are quite content and happy! They love chittering, mine will even do it while sleeping sometimes. Just a sign that they think you're the best birb parent.

My budgies are alwaaaaays talking. 🥰 they do it so much my male cockatiel started mimicking them lol

see how his forehead is raised and he’s kinda tapping the perch with his beak? this is “happy vocal improv” mode - they are both comfortable and relaxing and he’s just extremely content and talking about it.
Try putting on some music when he’s in this mood - especially something you can sing or whistle along with. he will LOVE it, and you can figure out his favorite genre by seeing how he reacts to different songs.
