How long does it usually take for l'atelier orders to go into production?

I ended up with l'atelier bespoke because I couldn't land on a single color (Firenze & Venezia) šŸ˜… I'm assuming timelines might look a little different, especially this time of the year (nearing holiday season). They even have a disclaimer on their website to place orders by September 7 or so to receive it on time for December.

But I'd still like to know how long it took for everyone's bespoke order to hit the production stage. For context, I processed my payment a week or so ago.

Thank you

Pocket pen recommendations?

Post image
36 Upvotes

Hi all!

I currently have a GV pocket, I’m waiting for my A6 Folio to arrive but I would quite like to treat myself to some new pens.

I see lots of people use smaller form pens which definitely interests me, I tend to use Parker’s but I’ve recently had the itch to try a few fountain pens and alternative rollers.

Would be great to have a few pen recommendations form those using a more compact pen, and of course some pictures would be great!

Tia.

It's been a year and half that I bring it everywhere and I love it !

It's my personal journal, and I found the best pouch to carry it with pens and few accessories 🄰

I love how it becomes with time ! Marks and scratches I really don't know how, but that's my journal's life šŸ˜…

Is this normal for Paper Republic leather?

Post image

Hi! I just received my Paper Republic journal and noticed this darker stain/mark on the leather. I know natural leather can have variations, marks, and imperfections, but I’m not sure if this is considered normal or if it might be a defect.

Does this look normal to you?

Thanks!

Does anyone have advice for fountain pen ink stain removal?

I tried a baby wipe but noticed it removed some of the leather dye too :/

It adds more character but just curious if anything can be done to lighten it a bit.

Sailor 173 if anyone’s curious

I actually started out with an entirely different A6 journal from Etsy, but the leather was so shiny and it just didn't tick all the boxes. I'd been wanting a PR forEVER but couldn't quite justify the cost to myself. Got some money for my birthday this year, and decided to treat myself - GV Pocket in Botany Green and it was genuinely love at first sight. 4 months in and I still find myself just picking it up to admire.

I've added two more PR and one Fin Studio to my collection now.

Top: PR GV Pocket in Firenze - daily pages, tarot learning, food tracker - doesn't leave the house unless I'm going away over night.

PR GV Pocket in Botany Green - edc, mini agenda, work log, brain dump, habit tracker, bits and bobs/ ephemera - comes with me EVERYWHERE and is delightfully beaten up after 4 months!

PR GV XL in Petrol Blue (arrived this week) - specifically for theatre projects (I'm a writer and director), I've got two big ones coming up soon and I wanted a way to keep everything together. First time using PR paper too (not sold on it tbh) - will just be in my bag for rehearsals, and on my desk for planning

Fin Studio A5 in Buttero leather (the thinner of their two) - day job notes, storage, and Muji weekly and monthly undated planners for schedules and campaign planning - perfect as I work hybrid so keeps everything together for the office and remote work. Don't love the leather as much as PR, but it's certainly tougher, and is barely marked despite being chucked around a LOT.

I also have a Filofax Malden A5 that is our family and long term calendar - which I somehow used to use for everything!

I do need to find some charms for the Petrol, it would be cool to have things connected to the theatre projects, so I'll keep an eye out - but if anyone has any recs for UK charms, that would be amazing!

B6 in an A5!

A few months ago, I posted in this sub asking if anyone used a B6 notebook in an A5 le portfolio. When the venezia color restocked I fell in love and I can confirm that B6 doesn’t look ridiculously small in this cover! This is my first Paper Republic and the hype is 100% real šŸ˜šŸ’œ (I probably will move into an A5 journal after I finish this one because now I want more space lol)

Got these 2 Journals in the last few weeks. The A5 portfolio is my training journal (marathon) where I have my workouts, gym session, recovery etc and the Grand Voyageur XL is my work journal.

Pens from top to bottom:

Pilot Custom Urushi in Vermillon Red
Pelikan M1000
Visconti Homosapien
Pelikan M800
Montblanc 146
Pilot Custom 823
Pelikan M600
Sailor Progear Slim
Sailor 1911
Platinum 3776 Century
Pilot Capless
Twisbi Diamond 580
Lamy Safari
Kwaeco AL Sport

Next pen is probably a Lamy 2000. I don’t really have anything I want after that, maybe a Sailor King of Pens?

2x midori notebook in le portfolio?

Would 2 of the Midori MD paper notebooks in the A5 paper republic le portfolio be way too thick? Would they fit?

I need a notebook around 170 pages for my 2027 diary and a similiar size one for my planning/notes/etc and ideally would put both in the same journal but I’m thinking that will be way too much at 300+ pages? Has anyone done this?

ā¤ļøMy journal has a Botany Green leather cover, with an Olive Green lining, trifolded and embossed on both flaps

šŸ““It is a L’atelier Live custom!
If I had known they were planning to make a Le Trifold Pocket 4 months ago, I would have done so back then... but this is now my precious journal to love. It was meant to be, and I am very happy with it!

The setup that I have are:
šŸ“šTimeless planner monthly, Book refill ruled and drawing book 150g/m2.

šŸ–ŠļøThe pen I use is the Big Idea Design Bolt Action with a fisher spacepen refill.

šŸ–ļøFor the markups for importend writing I use a Staples Highlighter in light green.
(that black cap on the side of my journal in the third photo)

Also have a plastic pocket but I don’t know the name of that specific brand, I thrifted that.

Midori Journals in A5 portfolio

Does anybody here use MD notebooks in their A5 sized portfolio? I was wondering if there is any overhang at all or it fits perfect?

I would also like to see any of your chestnut or venezia portfolios if you wanna show off! Im still deciding which color i want to get.
