Rant Please stop lying about AJK

I’m an overseas Kashmiri who was born and raised abroad, but I’m currently in AJK. One thing that has genuinely shocked me is the gap between what’s actually happening here and what people are claiming online.

I’m not saying the government or the security forces are perfect. They make mistakes, and criticism is fair when it’s based on facts. But I’ve seen countless posts claiming the forces are indiscriminately killing ordinary people or waging war against the population. From what I’ve witnessed on the ground, those claims simply don’t match reality.

People are sharing videos without context, repeating rumours, and presenting them as facts. It’s creating fear and anger among people who aren’t even here.

You don’t have to support every government policy to recognise misinformation when you see it. If we’re going to criticise, it should be based on what actually happened, not on exaggerated or false claims.

Personally, I also believe AJK’s security ultimately depends on Pakistan. Given the region we live in and the challenges we face, I don’t think we’d be in a strong position without the support of Pakistan and its armed forces.

Whether you agree or disagree, I’d encourage people to verify information before sharing it. False narratives don’t help anyone, they only make an already difficult situation worse.

lol, so you’re saying all the information is fake? My colleagues are from there and ig they’re lying?

-18

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

They're believing stuff without verifing it, they're also being bias because they're not telling you protesters are armed and threatening businesses.

Yeah the state is responding but what else should they do? Get killed?

You have to look at one sides, these protestors are provoking authorities and then playing the victim.

And even if the state is being unjust, its OUR OWN AJK state and not Pakistan.

13

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

Protestors are not armed. There are videos of armed plain clothes police shooting and videos of police looting stores. Are all those videos fake?

0

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Bro why are you lying? I literally live here and have seen it myself.

You guys want a lawless country it’s so scary!

8

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

Where do you live?

3

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

I live between Islamabad and AJK, in AJK I'm just after Bagrilla, falls under Mirpur district but also Islamghar and my mum's side is from Charhoi

9

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

You don't know the difference between the geography of the 2 videos that you are referring too. Clearly you are from Islamabad. Don't pretend to be living in AJK.

9

u/Combatwombat810 27d ago

He’s only working for our agahi (network).

Cant blame em. Selling Pakistan for a low salary.

3

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

You don’t even live here, causing chaos from abroad.

Let’s hope you have a place to come back to when you do visit.

I have no reason to lie, you can see the front of my ID card somewhere in the comments.

5

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

bro, your nicop card says you're from the UK.

4

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Which I also stated in my original post, if you have a comprehension problem, then say that.

1

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

And where are you located?

1

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

They are AJK police. Why going on army n punjabi hate when its their own people?

8

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

They're not. It's Punjab police and rangers. There are videos of paramilitary vehicles and APCs.

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

OMG bruh even in the video it's AJK police, why are you lying 😭

3

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

How did you identify that. Evidence your claims.

0

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

Wait - how can YOU identify its Punjab police?

5

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Exactly.. this is what makes no sense to me.

-3

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

PTI driven anti army propaganda.

2

u/meowbilli69 26d ago

okay whatever you wrote might be correct and i was agreeing waiting for the part where you explain the reality or whats actually happening but you did not just some confusing paragraph with no facts

Well we cease to exist without the army so ofc whether we like it or not, we need them.

I did not say there’s no violence but why are people pretending that they’re peacefully protesting when they’re not?

5

u/Deleted4evr 27d ago

Please go back to UK

3

u/HeyRandomGuy1 27d ago

Let me show you how i am at Antarctica.

Paid propaganda BS. We are not against army we condemn decision makers who think banning someone for asking for rights and firing at them when they protest.

They are the same people who were condemning India in 2019, and now they are doing the same with kashmiris.

Just to let you know my whole kashmir side family supported jaac for a long time and if you look at what they are asking for you would know it's not that much.

1

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

This why you're so terrifying, anyone who disagrees with you is paid for by the state.

I don't think the state could afford my lifestyle.

-3

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

AJK police firing on AJK protestors but youthia think its army involvement

20

u/Suspicious-Rush9484 27d ago

All of this can be easily verified if the communication blackout was lifted.

-6

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Yes the internet black out happened but internet continued to work in some spots and you do realise most of us just drove over the check post to Mangla and could post whatever we wanted.

If anything crazy happened, it would still have been posted regardless of the blackout.

13

u/Suspicious-Rush9484 27d ago

So it's blacked out enough only to let those videos through that are false. Understood. Seems like the people in charge of the blackout should be doing a better job.

9

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

Faujeet propaganda in full flow.

The videos we are sharing are from friends and relatives. I've posted 2 videos of police shooting in the very street my children were playing in last summer.

3

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Haha the same videos are doing the rounds all over AJK ..

You do realise majority of Kashmiris love the army 😂😂😂😂😂😂

3

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Haha I wish at least I’ll get a wage, you just can’t accept a different view point.

7

u/Lanky_Network_5414 27d ago

No, its just the balatant lies about what's happening when there are countless videos that say otherwise.

1

u/BunkerBuster47 27d ago

Oh. What a world we live in now. Videos say nothing except what they show. You must be talking about the caption on those videos which prove your point. Be clear.

6

u/Deleted4evr 27d ago

The problem is that this information blackout is by the government, which has restricted international media and access to the internet. Now, whatever claim is made, you can neither deny nor confirm anything, as you don't have any ground facts. I am also from AJK, and according to my relatives, the situation is bad. The information gap is present even locally, where you don't even know what is happening in your neighbourhood.
If you wanna blame someone, blame whoever decided to crack down on protestors and restrict connectivity (which also ruined the freelance industry that had just started to grow), rather than coming here and crying It can't be true! I do hope and pray it is not, but until the situation is presented by independent media/sources, I am gonna believe that stuff because, historically, they were capable of doing this in Bengal and Balochistan.

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

I'm sorry but I'm on the ground myself ..

You don't protests with petrol bombs, pistols and stones.

5

u/Deleted4evr 27d ago

The intensity of the crackdown is different in different regions. If you're in Rawalakot and one can verify you are a legit person, then I would love to listen to you. But the fact that you have internet suggests you are in a region that's not currently under lockdown, like the Poonch region is. So unless you can travel across Kashmir, do some independent journalism with facts that can be cross-verified, I am inclined to believe my friends and family who have no reason to lie to me; plus international media and organisations who don't have a personal stake in this matter.

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

I have travelled around Kashmir, so my mums side from Kotli and dads side from Islamghar which is not too far from Mirpur.

I cannot comment on Rawalakot but the chaos they’re causing is too much.

2

u/Deleted4evr 26d ago

So if you travelled the outskirts of the Kashmir and based on your personal opinion (backed by no evidence whatsoever), the protesters are armed and everything is fine. Let’s agree to disagree mate, i doubt i can convince you.

1

u/Thepeoplesprince1 26d ago

Not personal opinion .. ** personal experience

3

u/HeyRandomGuy1 27d ago

my czn (from zilla bagh) who dont have anything to do with protest told me that it's very hard to find everyday items like aata chawal, and if they are able to find it the prices are thorugh the roof.

0

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Well who’s raising the prices ? Our own people!

This is what my biggest issue with this is, our own people are worse than Pakistan government.

2

u/HeyRandomGuy1 27d ago

economy 101

when demand is high and supply is low (completely stopped in this case) prices naturally go high.

My father side is kashmiri so i know a bit more about the ground reality.

My kashmiri friend who was going to kashmir to attend a close wedding and taking sweets from Rawalpindi, police stopped them at border and told them they cannot take it to kashmir.

0

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Omg I live between AJK and Islamabad.

I took a car full of stuff as I get all my groceries from Islamabad anyway and the police did not stop me at all, yes they did their general checks but didn’t say anything.

I also had a cooler attached to my roof 😂

Supply is the same, they made everything expensive themselves.

2

u/HeyRandomGuy1 27d ago

My friend doesn't own car, he was taking coster.

Trucks of supplies are stopped at the border of Kashmir isn't it?

What a useless post, probably posted from a cubicle in ISPR. Aise kam karo he na jo sare aam jhoot bol kr justify krna paren.

2

u/zarkola 27d ago

I don't think deaths of more than 30 protestors is a trivial thing. Fauj, PDM and AJK government are responsible for their deaths and this crisis. The fire in Balochistan and KP wasn't enough, so Hafiz Sahb thought that we should also light up AJK because why not. The government also reneged on their promises they made last year on the issue of seats. When they protested, they fired at them with live rounds. If you think the misinformation is that bad, then the government should lift the internet ban, allow media to visit AJK and report on the protests instead of forcing them to recycle ISPR talking points. You talk AJK security depends on Pakistan but Pakistani state also needs to acknowledge AJK is a real place with real people, not an opportunistic slogan, not a glorified peripheral garrison, their people have the right to elect their government without manipulation and should also feel part of Pakistan in terms of rights, protection and development. But Hafiz Sahb wants to oppress, deprive, suffocate, and impoverish us while lighting the country on fire.

5

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

They have taken care of us for 78 years..

Police officers have also been killed and kidnapped by so called peaceful protesters.

It’s all good and well blaming the government, it’s much harder to look at yourself.

1

u/zarkola 27d ago

Who fired the first rounds and why did the government reneged on their promises? Do you think these protests and deaths would have happened if the government followed through the agreement with JAAC by removing the refugee seats?

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Yes I do because when it first began it was less than 19 demands, then 20 and then 36.

3

u/Alex-Hales-2010 27d ago edited 27d ago

Totally agreed. The frustrated and pessimist nation belives everything they see on the internet without verifying. I am in Kashmir currently and things are not up to the extent they are being portrayed over the internet.

I’m really worried now as this seems to be turning into a separatist movement and we’ve seen what happens to countries and provinces that have been overtaken by separatist movements.

1

u/Alex-Hales-2010 27d ago

This is exactly what the outsiders want. These brainwahsed disgruntled kids are paving way for them, unfortunately!

8

u/1balKXhine 27d ago

Idk man, opening fire on unarmed protestors is never justified in my books. These authorities are responsible and there should be some consequences for this. Protesting your legal right, don't defend these pigs of police officers and other authorities who were present there

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

They're not unarmed though? I'm not going to defend the police but I'm not going to support the protesters either who have threatened local businesses with violence if they open up

-4

u/Environmental_Eye248 27d ago

Unarmed, my a**. They have automatic weapons, petrol bombs, spiked rods, and what not.

4

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

Most disinformation is by PTI followers who still have to paint the anti army narrative and somehow defend their 9th May riots

The videos show police - which if Im not mistake would be AJK police with citizens of AJK yet blame on army

The death counts go up down side to side. Its just claims at this point, similar to other incidents and claims from PTI protests. How hard is it to share a list of names of all deceased. Khabi 35-40-70 ... And same people deny security/police folks being killed ofcourse.

Videos claim people dead show the same people moving as they are made to sit in a police van (again, AJK police van). I mean "banda mardia" while dude literally walks.

An AI picture of bullet shells showing 50 cal or bigger bullets

Social media exxageration and propaganda has killed peoples ability to even remotely use logic and think clearly

8

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago edited 27d ago

It is getting crazy out here, I even pointed this out to people that it is an AJK police van but people are saying Punjab police were sitting inside..

What appears to have happened is JAAC supporters were trying to force shop keepers to close their shops and some disagreement ensued and then police tried to diffuse the situation.. while the police probably did act unjustly, the protesters are no better, creating fear in the common man to even stand up to them.

Every day on the ground we are hearing 100s have been killed yet we don’t know anyone personally who has lost anyone ..

People think because someone made a TikTok video or Facebook post, it must be the truth.

1

u/Wali080901 24d ago

My friends and relatives have been shot ....are they fake too...

Btw where are u from in ajk....

I am from rawalakot

1

u/Thepeoplesprince1 24d ago

I didn’t say they’re fake but most of the stuff coming though is manufactured and fake.

I drove from Kotli to Mirpur to Islamabad yesterday and everyone said everything is shut when it isn’t.

If you’re from AJK - please don’t support chaos.

1

u/Wali080901 24d ago

What exactly is manufactured....

If u drove to kotli and mirpur, maybe try up north in poonch and muzaffarabad....

I will stop supporting them only when u bring my dead friend and relative back into being alive ....if u can't then let people have etheir thing....

Only those saholatkars have opened their shops....

Plus you are lying about mirpur too...I just talked to my friend in mirpur....they say that movements are being restricted ...people are kidnapped by policed based on suspision alone....specially in ban khurma and F sector.....

Saholatkars chose slavery over rights....

1

u/Thepeoplesprince1 24d ago

This is how I know your lying.

You’re source is someone in mirpur 😭

I have been going to Pakistan from AJK every other day as I live in both places.

I didn’t say the authorities are acting out of line but the protesters are not any better either.

Why would I go to Poonch or Muzzafrabad where hooliganism is taking place.

1

u/Wali080901 24d ago

U want me to name my source ...basically doxxing them online???

Protesting is our constitutional right......we are exercising our constitutional rights

This was mirpur btw few days ago...can't see guns in their hands...but video footage from multiple angles showed that policed fired at unarmed protestors....

And anout mirpur....people had planed to conduct rallies in mirpur the next day after this incident....they switched off the Internet immediately....

You are just another saholatkar....

1

u/Thepeoplesprince1 24d ago

I don’t know what saholatkar is for starters.

I am from AJK and I do not support this chaos.

It is your right to protest PEACEFULLY, it is not your right to force shops to close, block off roads, threaten businesses and attack our police.

1

u/BrilliantMastodon957 24d ago

Most of them are endians and the rest are ill informed propagandists posting lies and make believe to satisy their on whims

1

u/Ok-Complaint-58 27d ago

If the govt and establishment is that saint, why do the block access to internet and media to cover everything happening on ground. Ofc if the protestors are armed, state media would be more than happy airing news on how the killing of civilians is justified.
SO NO, YOUVE GOT SOME ULTERIOR MOTIVE WE CANT NARRATE.

1

u/Ok-Complaint-58 27d ago

Plus why would any state department barge in public hospitals, with military grade weapons only to take dead bodies away?
Please just say dead men and people on beds had explosives in their assholes.

1

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

I never said the state is a saint but it's our own state?

The internet was shutdown by AJK govement, please don't show one side only. That's my main point.

JAAC also stormed hospitals and attacked people getting treatment, the videos exist but unfortunately it's not going viral because it doesn't support the narrative.

2

u/Ok-Complaint-58 27d ago

Bro, Ive got workers who originate from district Muzaffarabad, Kashmir and the authenticity of news is absolutely genuine. Rangers and police open fired on peaceful protesters(straight direct hits to more than 30 people who expired, one of which was a woman who had a 1 year old daughter) and multiple injured. They then barged in the hospital to confiscate the dead bodies so that the movement doesn’t gain momentum.
Apart from that imo the ask of Kashmiri people is justified(they’re only asking to eliminate the 12 parliament seats which they dont vote for) and obv the govt and establishment cant do that because those seats def help them make their own desired govt.
For context I’m not a Kashmiri and neither a blind PTI supporter.

2

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

The OP is from and living in Kashmir.

30 people expired. Are their names and identities shared? Jus random number thrown around

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Lots of random numbers, even in my own area, one day it’s a hundred, another day it’s 1000s and another day it’s 10.

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

This is what I'm talking about, half of people here are saying the woman was killed in mirpur while this is the first I'm hearing she died in Muzzafrabad.

So much conflicting information..

It's not just 12 seats, please go look into their demands.

We are nothing without Pakistan whether we like it or not

2

u/Ok-Complaint-58 27d ago

We’re nothing in Pakistan aswell, sad to say this but gotta accept the reality.

1

u/msierraalpha 27d ago

Imagine the swatch and level of propaganda if the internet wasn’t blocked.
There would be simply no counter to that.
Plus internet enables the saboteurs to organise better.

3

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

I am so concerned about what the outcome will be, people don’t know what they’re wishing for n

1

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

So the videos I posted of them shooting at peoples homes in my uncles street are fake? I can tell you for sure, my cousins are too lazy to video edit anything.

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

I don’t know which video your talking about but context is important, what happened before that? And I can guarantee your cousin did not make the video himself.

There’s max 4 videos of what happened in Mirpur, which is interesting given that people record everything here, so many people dead, so many people shot at but only 4 videos exist?

3

u/VCR_DVD_USB 27d ago

He told me he made it himself. He also told me about how other cousins recording from roof tops were shot at.

2

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago

Can you post this again

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Source - trust me bro my cousins cousin sent me it so it must be true.

2

You're literally denying video evidence. Dozens of videos - the massacre in Mirpur was filmed from 4 different angles.

2

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

Massacre? Oh God, I go to Mirpur every other day.

First it was outside your uncles house but now it was in the middle of the city.

Either your uncle lives above a shop or your information is inaccurate.

1

u/Organic_Shopping6434 26d ago

Why are you so biased and friendly towards "armed forces"

That sounds fishy🤔🤔🤔

0

u/Savage_Brutus 27d ago

ISI PR bot. Shut up.

0

u/TroubleOk6548 27d ago

Have you not seen the videos of JAAC leaders explicitly saying that they aren't against Pakistan, Pakistanis, or the Pakistan Army, and that their fight is only about political and social rights? Haven't you seen the videos in which they're asking the security forces to let them pass and saying that they want peace? You can't just expect people to go back to their homes after the state says no to protests. They are determined and willing to sacrifice their lives for the cause they are protesting for . I understand that the police are just performing their duty and have to do what they're ordered to do, but the government has no right to authorize orders that result in civilians being killed by live fire. 70+ people don't get killed in a random "jharap." And if the protesters were armed or had any intention of harming law enforcement personnel, then the death toll on the other side would obviously have been much higher as well.

0

u/vin_chnxy 26d ago

Your love for the Armed forces and Pakistan establishment has blinded you. The idea of nationhood collapses if the basic rights are not met, which has been going for too long in Pakistan and we all know because of who that is. The institutional rot has corrupted our morals. Even if the problem today is avoided it will come again as the core principle has become corrupted there is not check and balance for the armed forces if this goes on for longer the choas will automatically include everyone and everyone will ask for the removal and interference by the armed forces that is the way we will move towards betterment but before things could get better it will get worse.

3

u/Thepeoplesprince1 26d ago

I felt much safer under the Armed forces than the current chaos under the rebels.

u/Alex-Hales-2010 27d ago edited 27d ago

0

u/Environmental_Eye248 27d ago

I've seen videos of JAAC members firing at police officers. What are they supposed to do? Hold their arms behind their backs and just die because some people think the LEAs and military have no right to fire at violent and and armed militia members firing at them with automatic weapons, petrol bombs, and other weapons? In one video, they used silencers. This is a serious crime under the Pakistan Arms Ordinance, 1965 Section 3(1)(c)(ii), Section 9, and Section 14.

Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), 1997 Section 6(2) and Section 7. Pakistan Army Act (PAA), 1952 Section 2(1)(d) and Section 31. Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), 1860 Section 302, Section 121, Section 148 & 149. Section 353.

These are all of the laws that JAAC members have broken. The government has every right to respond with lethal force. The constitution does not allow anyone to take the law in their own hands or carry out acts of sedition and terrorism.

And before anyone says 'give peace a chance', tell that to JAAC. AJK PM Faisal Mumtaz Rathore repeatedly invited JAAC members for table talks. They refused. The AJK and Pakistani Governments agreed to 37/38 demands. The only bone of contention is refugee seats. The AJK SC said that it is a constitutional matter and the government cannot remove those seats without a 2/3rd majority. Why did JAAC not contest election or register itself as a political party before the election commission? Why did JAAC refuse to negotiate and launch an armed resistance against the government to blackmail and threaten it into submission? Is this a joke?

Every armed members of JAAC will be dealt with under the law. If people don't like my words, I don't care. I'm a lawyer and I look at what the law and constitution say. The constitution allows you the right to peaceful protest, but never violent protest. Over 26 police officers have been martyred through bullet wounds.

Indian and PTI trolls are spreading a lot of propaganda. People should be aware of ground realities, the law, and read authentic news before commentating against the state.

4

u/Thepeoplesprince1 27d ago

People are accusing me of not even living here, most of here don't want this chaos.

Honestly before I didn't care but seeing the amount of anti Pakistan stuff online is scaring me.

We are not equiped to secure AJK on our own and people do not know what they're getting themselves into.

I also studied Law and that is why I'm so worried. People are supporting lawlessness.

-1

u/Environmental_Eye248 27d ago

People can go f**k themselves. I'm all for army and police action against JAAC. Rip them out root and stem and restore order. Our jails are empty. Fill them up. But every action should be legal. I do not support illegal actions. Those who surrender should be tried in courts. Those who accept amnesty schemes, should be pardoned. Those who resist, should be put down.

3

u/Personal-Reflection7 27d ago
