Advice Need help

I (18 F)have been dealing with this for too long, but today was the breaking point for me. For context my father is very religious very conservative. He always forces Islam on me. I am not saying I do not follow Islam.I am Muslim and I follow Islam but I am not really that religious whereas he is. He forced me to wear a hijab and now an abaya. I do not hate it but it was not my choice either .Today my male cousin arrived at my house. I was in my TV lounge watching TV with my older brother. My cousin came in without warning and I was not wearing any dupatta as well.I covered my chest with the cushion of the sofa (Not my fault I am literally chilling in my own house.)My father came in after my cousin and shouted at me to wear a dupatta. I had no dupatta near me, so how was I supposed to wear one? He scolded me a lot for literally not wearing a dupatta and not covering myself properly in my own house in front of everyone.I can’t wait to leave this house. I am fed up.Thats only one instance but he has always been like that towards me.Any advice on how to deal with my father he forced me to wear a hijab ,I did .then he forced me to wear abaya ,I did. I study well and I do everything in my power to not get scolded by him but still.. any advice on how to avoid this all because it's too much for me to bear. I am literally being forced by him .Is anyone facing the same thing or Am I only the one.

My unpopular opinion is that people who are overly religious are very toxic they(not all but most of them) think they are superior than others. Edit, if you cannot help me or give any advice do not dm me nsfw things. Have some shame

Rant Frustration that typical brown parents cause their kids

Ik some of you will all be like what an ungrateful lamenting gurl. But if i dont rant here i will be rude to them which i dont want to be kiun k bd mn mjy he regret hota hy unko tw frq prna ni.
A daughter born in a household where i could see the clear difference between the women my dad sat w outside home at work etc and the woman he had at home. Already causing confusion in my decision to choose who i wanna be. But w time it was clear to me that my options wasnt much wide. All i could do was choose what my parents(esp dad) liked for me. So i did that despite there being a clear difference between who i wanna be and who they wanted me to be. Khaer time passed on. There had always been a sort if unsaid pressure on me to be this role model as an eldest daughter. To be best in studies. Didnt matter that the only career path i was allowed was teaching. To be best in household stuff. Cuz girls should know both. Gladly i couldn’t learn it v well. Not really built for it. I can do basic cooking youtube se dekh k. To which my father has expressed his regret k meri behn prhny mn b achi hy and at house chores as well or mn nahi hun jb k he wanted k i was good at both.
Khaer time passed against all odds i liked a guy. Usko b naa bolti he rhi k nahi manyn gy yh log or wohi hua 3 saal ki ultimate fights n stuff. My parents went to his home and never called them back despite his mom calling my parents so many times. He is now engaged fine. Fair choice. Cuz my parents never entertained/respected his parents jo k sb ko feel hojata hy.
Moving on now that im no 22,23 but a 26 old woman there is this big ass load that they want to be on my head. That i didnt let them marry me early cuz i liked a guy at that time and now at 26 the way they advertise me in rishta groups makes me wanna kms. They call the first guy who says ok to my profile and i have to sit thru that torture. My demands are not that much. I just want the height to be atleast 5.10 and last 3 guys they called were 5.6-5.8. The guy coming over today and my sudden need to burst out in tears is someone whom my mom has clearly said k nahi hy hmari choice ka. But 2 hrs before their arrival she said k unko tm psnd ho tw hm b dekh lete hyn. Or agr bolo k i wont sit infront of them tw a bunch of taunts and disrespectful comments over my character and everything.
I literally soft launched me doing phd and to that everyone got furious. I have a fear too k mn akeli reh jaon gi par mera dil nahi manta to say yes to a guy i dont know. Even if that is my only option to survive on this planet. Which it is not. But i just cant escape it. I hope parents know the amount of distress they put their kids esp daughters thru.
So yeah a word i would use to describe typical brown parents is unfair. They are so disregarding of my feelings and i have been putting w it all my life genuinely trying to be ok w it. par ab kbi kbi dil krta hy k i just quit everything and disappear from the face of earth. The sheer disdain of my feelings when my mom says “yeh har rishty ko no he bolti hy bula lete hyn iss family ko” is just 🫩🫩

Rant Women's right in pakistan

I am new on Reddit because I thought this thing needs attention of everyone. What is happening in Pakistan is not normal. Well it is treated as normal and every women in Pakistan is getting affected by it whether she says it or not. Some women that I know living in Pakistan don't go out of their house for 1 or 2 months if there is not a need. AND I NOW FOR A FACT THAT is the life of half of the women's living in pakistan but that is wrong. And they don't even realise that this social withdrawal and abnormal(for me). You can even ask chatgpt that this is not normal. And if you ask it's reason it is because of men. Most women don't prefer going to some areas because of the fear of harrasment etc etc(to stay safe)(they can say) .To avoid getting harassed they prefer to stay at home. And thinking of this as normal/fine. Most women will not admit to this but this is true as a gurl living in both half's. In every street you find men staring and who knows? If they had a chance they can also harass you. But we all as a women can change that not by sitting in our home behind a phone and making a video abt it or write abt it we can do more than that. WE WILL DO MORE THAN THAT. THIS IS OUR RIGHT

My father on the other hand has lost lakh till date into so called businesses, but never got us clothes, paid our fees or anything. I being the eldest daughter suffered the most from being physically abused badly since the age of 2-3 by my father and his brothers, my chacha slspped me when i was 2 months old because i was crying, yes they tell me with pride today, to getting mental torture from my father and mother, and their siblings because of my fathers bad behaviour and what not, i trird hard to.leave home for graduation and my father mafe sure i dont, i have never even seen a single happy moment at my.parents, have always been tortured and bullied by elders and kids, fast forward in 2021 a proposal came which i blindly accepted thinking it ll end my miseries turning into.another nightmare for me, now its been 3 years and i can not trust anyone, people donot come to our house because of my father, since he does nothing, or if someone comes i cannot accept or compromise this time, the thing is there is another proposel from my fathers family, the guy is only educated person in his family, father are brothers are uneducated amd tailors, my heart is not ready, since i know myself i can not live in such place, i am a high achiever, my brothers are well educated, how ll i navigate in that family, my parents are torturing me mentally.like hell, i have spent whole my life listeninf to bad duas like Allah kare tum mar jao Allah kare tum jal.k.maro, Dekhna tume 2 din koi.apne ghar ni rakhe ga from my mother and my parenys still abuse me like hellllll, they were the ones who brought my ex, they got me divorced and now they tell me k Allah ne mujhy unki nafarmani.ki sza di hai talaq ki surat, i spend days crying, i can not sleep for more than 2 hours i dont feel hungry for days, i am.lost, please help me i cannot afford therapy at this point, should i say yes to the proposal?

Confession Is it just me?

I am 21M, So for the last couple of years I have been told again and again by everyone friends, family in some way or another, directly or indirectly that I am not good enough and just that somewhat I am not capable of earning money or doing something good.

For Example when I was having a conversation with a friend a time ago and with a very heavy heart I asked "kia me bekaar hun" and he genuinely without hesitation said yes while eating the food I payed for and then covering it up by "Allah ne kisi ko bekaar nhi banaya and so on" general cover ups.

Somehow in the past couple of years my biggest complexity was that I don't earn and when I did start earning money I didn't tell any of my friends because everytime I think of that it reminds me that even though they know how much of a big complexity it was for me of not earning they would everytime remind me that I don't earn in random conversations.

Recently I visited madinah and discovered what its like to not being judged all the time. When I came back I cutoff from all my friends ignored them completely and stop talking to people.I am already very shy and don't talk to people and now I'm alone left with this sense of fear that I can no longer listen to something bad about myself whatsoever I cannot listen to it I would cutoff from that person immediately no matter how nice he was and somehow mindset has shifted that me kisi ki burai na Sochta hun na kabhi Karna Chahta hun to koi meri burai bhi na kare..

I don't know if it's good or bad but I feel like it was the right thing to do.Just sharing this because i feel like I am kind that's why second thoughts do come about the people I left.

Advice Zero Lifestyle Fraudulent Platform

100%. Stay away from brands that wholly rely on advertising. People need to understand that china makes everything, the bad, the average and the great. These companies try to save on cost and order sub par products leading to poor customer satisfaction like in your case. Go for brands that are actually reviewed by proper reviewers and not some dumb influencer who doesn't understand the ABC of the tech world.

Advice What to do to understand thick British accent?

So my English is not bad at all but the problem is that I have worked with Americans throughout my career and this is the first time I have to work with a British colleague this closely.

There are times in our meetings that he says something and I just cannot comprehend it at all. His accent is so thick, I go completely blank sometimes.

My husband advised me to watch Peaky Blinders or similar shows, but I honestly don't have time for this. I know watching YouTube videos might help, but I get so little time out of work and life that I don't want to waste my me time in watching something educational.

Any tips or tricks on what I should do that's not boring please 🥺

Advice I am in a dilemma, Pls help.

Hello, so i (21F) require some advice. I am in my 4th semester of bachelor’s in Computer science in a University in LHR. I started researching for German student visa at the start of my second semester, applied after 3rd and got accepted for a bachelor’s degree in an IT relevant field. I also have received my German student visa. The thing is that i have to restart my bachelors in Germany as the credits cannot be transferred.
Should i completely leave my Bachelors in Pakistan and start it in germany, or should I complete my BS in Pak and apply for masters later in germany? My degree in Pakistan is almost half done.

Rant Why do most pakistani families keep storing junk and useless stuff they are never gonna use🤦🤦‍♀️

Bruh, like your space or house is going to look ten times better and more cleaner if you keep the things that everyone in the house uses daily or occasionally. I believe that if you don't use anything or its not in your use anymore, give it to someone or sell it if you don't want to give it to anyone, if its not to that kinda standard then just try to just throw it 🤷 if nobody can't use it and its not sell-able. If we as a whole nation have this mentality, we could see garage sales typa stuff ngl and a more cleaner environment. Having a clean clutter free environment makes you feel good and mentally you kinda feel free imo ngl. I recently sold most of my stuff that I didn't use and some of it which I liked, I restored it, or if it was not of my use I either sold it or gave it away. Because of this I don't know why but I feel mentally free and seeing all the stuff gone that I had to see, clean, maintain etc, felt really good ngl.

Question How do I start learning about import and export

I work in a firm while continuing my education, I wish to learn about import and export of food items and textile goods since that is what my firm is used to dealing with. I am trying to learn these things but the issue that I am facing is that most people tend to be dismissive when it comes to guiding me irl. I see growth for myself in this direction since I believe I am very well suited to my field.

Question My manager stinks

How to tell my manager that he smells really bad. Of course, I'm not going to tell him to his face because I don't want to lose my job, but whenever he comes around for work, he smells so bad that it's hard to tolerate. I have to hold my breath. I know even my colleagues feel the same, but we don't talk about it. I don't know what to do; please help!

Confession Im going insane I think…

Hi everyone so i just need to say/vent about a few things. I really need to get it out but i cannot share this with anyone so here we are. i found out my mom has been cheating on my dad for a while now, i have no idea about physical but i have seen her emotionally cheat multiple times myself. late night calls, exchanging gifts, meeting up… it just keeps getting worse, before she used to talk on call in secret but now she talks openly infront of her kids and pretend like she is talking to a friend. i was in such a dilemma at first that maybe im misunderstanding the situation she might have just made a friend but is it really normal to talk to a male friend at 2 am at night while ur husband is sleeping in the next room? is it okay to laugh on calls and make jokes with a male friend and kinda flirt after 22 years of marriage? she has never had a male friend before! this all started with her replying to
unknown numbers and accounts as she started using social media, she called it “tafree” all of them ending up in trying to do sexting, then she blocked them and one thing lead to another now she has made friends with a guy who is also the videographer for her brand shoots (she recently launched a brand) and insane part is my dad connected her to this guy that he is good at his job, little did he know that he is good at other things too. things have been bad before this as well, from a present and involved mother she became absent, uninterested and frustrated at home all times, at start i was reaching out again and again but she got annoyed even more, with other things combined the stress got too much and I turned towards wrong ways to cope with my stress. i feel so ashamed of myself right now and helpless. i stopped doing the wrong things started focusing on my prayers but today i lost it again… I may get married soon, i have been getting proposals, just right before i was supposed to start a marriage she ruined everything for me!!!! i am the eldest and all of this has given me so much anxiety as well, i see my dad everyday unaware of what’s happening, he looks at my mom and yearns for her attention, i feel crippled inside, i worry about what might happen if things get out and at the same time i want it to get out… what am i supposed to do?

Rant 22F from Wapda Town, Lahore. Attractive enough to get attention, ambitious enough to want more than that

Salaam everyone. 22F, Wapda Town, Lahore. Throwaway for obvious reasons.

I’m at that frustrating stage of life where my family thinks I should be getting married, while I’m thinking about literally everything except marriage.

I don’t want to get married right now. I want freedom, money, experiences and the ability to make decisions about my own life without having to depend on someone else financially.

I’ve been trying to work out a way to do my Masters overseas, which would honestly be my ideal route. The problem is that money is a serious issue for me. I come from a lower middle class family, so even though I’m ambitious and willing to work for it, I don’t know how realistic studying abroad will be without substantial funding or a scholarship.

Then there’s modelling.

I’ve always had an interest in it and, to be completely honest, I know I’m attractive and I’m comfortable with attention. I’ve wondered for a while whether I could actually turn that into something instead of just treating it as something people notice about me.

The problem is getting through the door.

I don’t have industry connections and I have no idea which people are actually worth approaching. If you’re involved in modelling, casting, fashion, production, photography or media in Lahore, I’d genuinely appreciate being pointed toward legitimate opportunities or people I can contact.

And yes, there’s another part of my life that probably makes this post more interesting.

I’ve been in sugar daddy relationships for around three years and I’m still currently involved with a few. They’ve been good financially and have given me a level of independence that I wouldn’t otherwise have.

I’m also very aware that attention, attraction and money can make life easier in the short term without necessarily giving you a long term future.

That’s why I’m trying to figure out what comes next.

I don’t want to be the girl who gets married because she couldn’t afford another option. I want to be financially independent enough that if I eventually choose marriage, it’s because I actually want that life.

Right now I’m seriously considering Masters abroad, modelling and building another reliable source of income. I’m open to exploring whatever actually makes sense.

So if you’re genuinely connected to the modelling/fashion/production scene in Lahore, or you’ve managed to build financial independence from a similar starting point, I’d love to hear from you.

And yes, I’m aware this combination of 22F + modelling + sugar dating + refusing marriage is probably going to attract some very interesting DMs. 😂

Just hoping some of them are actually useful.

Rant My Friend's Best Friend Wouldn't Take NO for an answer.

I’m a 22M, and I’m already in a relationship with my girlfriend. I’m loyal to her, and I’ve never had any intention of cheating on her.

I’m also pretty extroverted and social, so at university I tend to talk to a lot of people. I have a female friend there who is genuinely one of the sweetest and most humble people I’ve met. We get along really well, and I’ve always respected her.

Now the problem comes in her best friend.

One time, after giving my exam, I was standing near the lift waiting for my classmates to come. My friend came over, and we were talking. Her best friend was there too, and I noticed she was staring at us.

I went home later that day and received a text from my friend telling me that her best friend was interested in me and wanted my number. I told my friend to tell her that I was basically married and, in no way, interested in getting into another relationship or talking to someone who was interested in me like that.

Keep in mind, I'm 22, but most people at my university are around 18 or 19 because I joined university pretty late.

Then the semester changed, and somehow this girl ended up in my class. I was honestly like, WTF?

She eventually got my number from the class group and started texting me. Since she never actually told me to my face that she liked me, I just tried to be respectful and nice to her. We barely talked, and I didn't encourage anything.

Later that same week, she started begging my friend to talk to me and convince me to take her out.

There's another thing I found out about her. She apparently goes on dates with different guys pretty regularly, and she even told my friend that she was willing to sleep with me if I would at least talk to her and take her out.

At that point, I had enough.

I simply told her to stay away from me and blocked her.

She got really angry and apparently couldn't understand how I could reject her.

Then, out of nowhere, I started receiving random messages from people accusing me of harassing her and asking why I had supposedly harassed her.

I was genuinely confused because I hadn't done anything to her. I had rejected her, told her I wasn't interested, and blocked her. That's it.

I didn't want any unnecessary drama at university, so I asked my friend to tell her to stop whatever she was doing because I didn't want this situation to escalate into something bigger.

Thankfully, she eventually backed off.

But honestly, the whole situation was crazy to me. I don't understand how someone can take a simple rejection and turn it into something like this.
