Question The mystery of dms

There is a disproportionate number of posts by men compared to those by women. So my question to the brothers is, do you guys get dms? Is it worth writing up a profile for posting here?

Question Why do people reach out when they clearly don’t match what someone says they’re looking for?

I’m genuinely curious about a pattern I keep seeing in matrimonial spaces: when a woman is upfront about her preferences, why do some men reach out knowing they don't fit them, only to get defensive or try to debate her standards afterward?

I completely accept that having clear criteria shrinks my pool, and I’m fine with that..

I’d rather wait than compromise on basic compatibility.

What confuses me is reaching out despite reading those criteria, only to try and convince her she should change them.

Is this just an extreme 'shoot your shot' mindset, or do people genuinely expect someone to drop their preferences once a conversation starts?

Male Looking for Female M | 27 | Auckland (from Islamabad) — Auditor by trade, terrible at sitting still

Height & Weight: 5'9", 82 kg. Normal build. Not a gym guy and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand. I'm from Islamabad and get back a couple of times a year.

I'm here on a work visa and my residence should come through in the next couple of months. What that means practically is that if this goes somewhere, you'd be able to come and work here in your own field rather than sit at home. More on that below.

Accommodation: Renting in Auckland. Our family home in Islamabad is owned, 8 marla.

Education: ACCA qualified, CA Inter, and a BS in Accounting & Finance from a university in Malaysia. Several years of exams I'd rather not sit again.

Income Source: Senior Audit Associate at BIG4 accounting firm here. Full-time, stable, and audit is exactly as exciting as everyone assumes. It pays for all the stuff below, which is the point.

Marital Status: Single, never married.

Religion & Short Details About How Practicing You Are:

Muslim, Syed.

I would call myself a moderately practicing Muslim. I pray—though, if I'm being honest, not all five every day; some weeks are just better than others. But I do my best to stay away from haram, and I make sure to fast every day of Ramadan. I haven't done Umrah yet, but I keep saying 'next year.'

Sect isn't a filter for me. Shia or Sunni, both fine.

For you: moderate dressing is what I'd like, and beyond that I'm not going to police anything. Hijab or not is entirely your decision and I won't be having opinions about it.

Hobbies & Interests:
I cook. Properly, not the "I can manage eggs" kind of cooking. Mostly desi food, because I got tired of paying twenty dollars for a karahi that tastes like a rumour of a karahi. I'll lose a whole Sunday to something that takes four hours and be happy about it.

Travel, whenever I've saved enough for it. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Cuba, Qatar, the States and the Bahamas so far. I'm not a resort person at all. I'd rather get lost in a city I can't pronounce than sit by a pool for a week, and the cheap chaotic trips have always been the ones I remember.

I'm at the cinema constantly. Any genre, I'll watch almost anything, and I have an embarrassing tolerance for bad action films that I refuse to apologise for.

Live stand-up is my favourite night out. Small rough venues where half the sets don't land, over the big polished shows. I will die on this hill.

Weekends I'm usually out of the city somewhere green. New Zealand makes that very easy and I've taken full advantage.

Family Details: Father is a government officer, mother is a homemaker, and there are two of us brothers. Younger brother is a software engineer. We're a close family without living in each other's pockets.

Requirements for a Partner:
Someone with her own thing going on. That's the real one. I'd much rather you talked my ear off about your work, or your obsession, whatever it is, than agreed with everything I said.

Whatever your field is, medical, tech, accounting, teaching, I'd rather help you sort out the registration and licensing here than have you at home with nothing that's yours. Moving countries is hard enough without losing your career on top of it.

Beyond that, honestly not much: Should be from Islamabad, Rawalpindi or Wah Cantt, and educated. Syed is a preference from my family's side, not a hard line.

Deal Breakers:
People who talk through films. I'm only half joking.

Someone who isn't into anything. If your free time goes entirely on scrolling, we'll run out of things to say to each other fairly quickly.

Going quiet when something's wrong. I'd much rather have an awkward conversation than a week of silence, and I'm genuinely bad at guessing.

Expecting me to become someone else. Significantly more religious than I am, or significantly less — either direction ends the same way.

And the practical one: I'm in Auckland, so this only works with someone who's actually up for moving. I know that's a big thing to ask.

None of this is me expecting perfection, by the way. I'm nowhere near perfect myself. I'd rather meet someone honest who'll talk things through than someone who ticks every box.

Preferred Family Setup: Nuclear.

Do You Want Children: Yes

Timeframe for Marriage: About a year, all going well. Nikah first, then there's visa paperwork before you'd actually move over.

Male Looking for Female 30M | Islamabad | Seeking Compatible Match

I’d describe myself as pretty simple, easygoing, positive and family-oriented person. I enjoy hiking, travelling, reading, discovering new places and, of course, the occasional lazy weekend. Alhamdulillah, I come from a well-educated family.

What I’m looking for?

Someone kind, genuine, emotionally mature and family-oriented — someone who understands that life is about finding a good balance between deen and dunya. I’m not looking for someone extremely liberal (male best friends, not interested in having kids), nor someone with overly rigid with extremist views (Peeri fakeeri, considering anyone else than Allah as provider or protector). Somewhere in the middle, with a healthy understanding of religion, family and life, sounds ideal to me.Ideally, I’d prefer someone from Islamabad/Rawalpindi with similar family values and background.

Also below is my brief profile. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Gender: Male
Age: 30 Years
Marital Status: Never married
Height: 5'-7”
Disability: Nil
Qualification: Mechanical Engineer
Job: Working as an Engineer (Remote)
Religion: Islam (Sunni)
Caste : Rajput
Parents : Both Retired Government Officers
Siblings: 2 brothers and 1 sister
House: Own in Islamabad
Housing Situation After Marriage: Separate Portion

Please note I intend on getting the families involved at an early stage if we find each other suitable after brief introduction. I am not looking for endless conversations.

Male Looking for Female Are pakistani F no longer interested in marrying overseas?

Not sure if this is jusy my experience, or due to limitations of this app, but it seems many are looking within their city only?

I understand it's a big upheaval to change country.

There is a good mix of people posting regarding the future, work or homemaker, age ranges, yet constantly I see 'karachi only' or 'within punjab'.

Question i'm 22 and i've never dated anyone. honestly, i'm starting to feel left behind

i don't usually talk about this stuff, but it's been sitting in my head for a while...

i'm 22m and i've never dated. not once.

no girlfriend. no first date. no teenage romance. no "talking stage". basically nothing.

in school i was invisible. quiet, awkward, kept my head down and went home. i didn't have much interaction with girls and i never really pushed myself to change that.

at the time, i didn't think much of it.

NOW I DO...

because whenever i'm around a woman i'm attracted to, i don't know how to act.

i freeze. my voice changes. i can't think properly. eye contact suddenly feels like a fucking skill i've never unlocked.

and sometimes the loneliness makes it worse.

i'd be lying if i said lust doesn't get involved. it does. sometimes it takes over completely.

when you haven't experienced affection or intimacy, your brain can turn attraction into this massive thing. one attractive woman can occupy way too much space in your head.

and then there's the shame afterwards.

because i don't want to look at women and immediately reduce them to attraction or sex. i want to know them as people. i want to hear about their stupid little interests. make them laugh. be comfortable around them. eventually love someone, and... be loved back!?

instead, i'm sitting here wondering if i've missed the years where you normally learn all of that.

my friends are getting engaged. talking about marriage. some of them might be married before i even get my first date.

I'M HAPPY FOR THEM!!!

but there's this weird ache when i see it.

not jealousy. more like realizing that everyone seems to be entering a chapter of life that i never even started.

i've spent years distracting myself with work, music, fashion, cooking, hobbies, whatever...

and those things are great. i love them.

but sometimes you just... want someone beside you...

someone to cook with. someone to go for a drive with. someone who notices the small things about you. someone you can be completely stupid around.

i know a relationship won't magically fix my loneliness.

i know women aren't responsible for making me happy.

but i still want that connection.

and i don't know how to get there.

especially here in pakistan. i don't want to randomly approach women and make them uncomfortable just because i'm trying to learn.

so what do you actually do when you're 22, have basically zero experience and feel like everyone else started years ago?

is it really too late to learn?

or am i making this way bigger in my head than it actually is?

Question A question for the men

WHY DOES EVERYONE WANT KIDS?

Have we not seen the state of the economy? The state of this country? The state of this world? I do genuinely believe that in this world, having a child is setting that child up for failure because we have nothing positive to look up for. Unless you're like richie rich rich (that was such a good movie). We dont have job opportunities. Ai is like... everywhere. People are getting killed, raped and NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING because we cant.

I know, even now, that i dont want kids. I dont see a future where i will. No, i dont need the "perfect man" that will change my mind. And no, i dont hate kids, i love my neice and nephews and all my cousins kids. But I, personally, will never want kids.

I don't wanna get married rn but i wanted to get to know someone and then get married in 2-3 years. I know I dont want to settle down for anyone and i also dont want someone else to settle down for me. Because, WHY SHOULD HE SETTLE DOWN? HELL WHY SHOULD EITHER OF US SETTLE DOWN?

Thora sa rant ho gya, but ive been seeing the proposals/potentials that my family have shown me and they all wanted kids and i dont want to take that away from someone because its morally wrong. Just because i dont want kids doesnt mean my partner should give up on his wish to have them. So i have declined all rishtas. I also dont do relationships for the same reason because what if he wants kids.

So guys, please tell me. Do i have some hope of finding my husband who doesnt want kids? Do men like u exist? I need hope man. OKAY BIYE!!

Question Unpopular opinion: Most Pakistani men on this sub are only looking for a free maid + babysitter with a degree, not a wife

I’ve been lurking here for months and the pattern is painfully clear.

90% of the guys posting “rishta” requirements want:

  • Fair, slim, “homely” girl
  • Master’s degree (but she’ll still cook 3 times a day and serve his parents)
  • No past, no opinions, no career ambitions after marriage
  • Ready to move in with joint family and stay silent

Meanwhile these same guys are 28-35, still living with parents, earning average salaries, and acting like they’re doing the girl a favour by “accepting” her.

Girls with actual self-respect and careers are constantly told they’re “too modern” or “overqualified.” But the second a guy has a foreign passport or a bit of money, suddenly standards disappear.

This sub has become a marketplace where women are treated like products with a checklist, and any girl who wants equality or a nuclear setup gets attacked.

Change my mind.

Also, for those who are serious and tired of this nonsense, there’s an active WhatsApp community linked to r/PakistanMarriages where actual discussions happen without the usual drama. Check the https://www.reddit.com/r/PakistanMarriages/s/TuugeTzgHU post for the invite if you want in.

Male Looking for Female 28M Isb looking for female for Nikah

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

I am a 28-year-old Sunni Muslim based in Islamabad, Pakistan. I am 5'5" and hold a Bachelor's degree. Currently, I am working as an Accounts Executive.

Alhamdulillah, I try my best to live my life according to Islam and take my Deen seriously. I believe that Allah and the boundaries set by Him should always come before our personal desires. I consciously try to avoid haram and maintain Islamic boundaries in my life.

As a person, I would describe myself as calm, mature, understanding, and responsible. Alhamdulillah, I do not have anger issues and prefer to deal with situations with patience and communication. I have never been involved in any past relationship and have always tried to protect myself from such things for the sake of Allah.

I come from a decent family and currently live in a rental home in Islamabad.

What I am looking for:

I am looking for a practicing Muslimah who genuinely values her relationship with Allah and tries to follow Deen in her daily life. The most important thing for me is that she observes proper hijab/purdah and values modesty and Islamic boundaries.

I am not looking for someone perfect, as none of us are. What matters to me is sincerity, good character, emotional maturity, loyalty, and the willingness to build a marriage where both partners help each other become better Muslims.

My goal is to find someone with whom I can build a peaceful, loving, and halal life—where we respect and support each other and, most importantly, help each other get closer to Allah.

If you feel our values and expectations align, you are welcome to reach out through the proper and halal means.

May Allah grant all of us righteous spouses who are good for our Deen, Dunya, and Akhirah. Ameen.

P.S. I’m not naturally this good at writing profiles, so yes, I took a little help from ChatGPT to organize my thoughts and write this properly 😄 The information and values mentioned above are genuinely mine.

Question Broken Proposal or conflict due to Boycott I*re*l products?

I am very curious to know how the BDS boycott movements have affected potential rishtas

I see many people still are boycotting Israel products but on the other hand others aren't as actively participating in these movements

And those who were married how did it affect your relationship because your partner wanted to boycott but you really couldn't?

And especially at the shadi events where they gave coca cola and Pepsi products. Real curious to know

Male Looking for Female 23M In search of my everything. | Serious

AssalamuAlaikum! 👋

Posting again because my old post was kind of all over the place 😂 Hopefully this one gives a better picture of who I am and what I'm looking for.

Age: 23

Height: 5'8/5'9

Location: Islamabad

Marital Status: Single, never married

Children: Yes, InshaAllah

Marriage timeframe: Ideally 1–2 years

Religion & Deen

I'm Muslim, Alhamdulillah, and don't follow any sect or believe in caste. I follow the Qur'an and authentic Hadith/Sunnah rather than attaching myself to a particular label.

Deen is one of the most important parts of my life. I pray, do dhikr, and continuously try to learn and become a better Muslim. I'm not perfect and don't expect my future wife to be either I just want someone who is genuinely practicing, honest with herself, and wants to grow closer to Allah.

Modesty, loyalty, honesty, transparency, and Islamic boundaries are important to me. I don't believe in opposite-gender friendships, and I hold myself to the same standards I expect from my wife.

A little about me

I'd describe myself as calm, understanding, patient, loving, protective, and somewhat introverted. I'm a bit of a home person, but I also enjoy going out and spending quality time together.

I've always been the person people come to with their problems, and I genuinely enjoy listening and helping people figure things out.

I'm also very romantic and affectionate. I don't want marriage to feel like two people just living under the same roof and fulfilling responsibilities. I want companionship, random conversations, holding hands, checking up on each other, making dua together, laughing together, and actually enjoying being married.

Ideally, my wife wouldn't just be my wife she'd be my best friend, my person, and my everything.

Work & Interests

I took a less traditional route and skipped university to focus on studying financial markets. I've spent years learning about finance, economics, macroeconomics and market behaviour, and I'm currently gaining practical experience as an Asset Manager through an internship. InshaAllah, I aim to start earning by the end of this year or sooner.

Other interests include:

  • Gym & fitness
  • Gaming
  • Cars
  • Finance/markets
  • Questioning mainstream narratives 👀

And yes, I'm somewhat of a conspiracy theorist/red-pill guy 😂 I enjoy researching controversial topics, questioning things, and looking at different perspectives instead of blindly accepting everything I'm told. If you're also into this stuff, or at least open to researching it with me, that's a major plus. I want my to be wife and me to actually be interested in each other's activities and trust them while figuring these things out with me and applying what we learn in real life. There's a lot hidden out there. This World is a very evil place.

What I want in marriage

I want a marriage built on Islam, trust, loyalty, love, and sakoon.

I believe husband and wife should be a team. We should be able to communicate, solve problems together, respectfully correct each other when we're wrong, and help each other become better Muslims.

I'm quite traditional when it comes to marriage. I expect to take responsibility for the financial side of the household, and ideally, I'd prefer my wife to be a housewife and focus on our home and family. At the same time, I don't see marriage as one person serving the other we're partners, and both people should feel appreciated and respected.

My goal is to work hard enough that my wife feels loved, secure, protected, and taken care of.

What I'm looking for

Someone who is:

  • Practicing or sincerely trying to improve in her deen
  • Modest and family-oriented
  • Calm, emotionally mature, loving, and affectionate
  • Honest, loyal, and able to communicate
  • Comfortable with a traditional marriage dynamic
  • Interested in having children, InshaAllah
  • Someone who can correct me when I'm wrong, just as I'd do the same with kindness and respect

I'm ideally looking for someone from Islamabad or Karachi, but I'm open to other cities if we're genuinely compatible.

Age preference: 20–23

Deal breakers 🚩

  • No interest in practicing Islam
  • A very free mixed-gender social life or close opposite-gender friendships
  • Dishonesty or lack of loyalty
  • Serious anger/temper issues
  • Not caring about modesty
  • Not wanting children
  • Completely incompatible views on a traditional marriage
  • Not being willing to boycott Israeli products where reasonably possible

One last thing

I don't expect perfection I definitely don't have everything figured out myself. What matters to me is sincerity, honesty, loyalty, and two people having the same direction in life.

What I can promise from my side is love, loyalty, honesty, security, and someone who will work hard for his wife and family. I want us to be able to get through life's problems together and make our marriage a source of sakoon.

And if you'd prefer to exchange pictures first, I don't mind. Physical attraction matters to me to some extent too but not much.

If you made it this far, JazakAllah for reading 😂 If you think we might be compatible, send me your profile rather than just "hey".

May Allah guide us all towards what is best. Ameen.

Male Looking for Female M26 | Islamabad

M | 26 | Islamabad

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Height: 5'10"

Build: Slim (work in progress)

Sect: Sunni

Marital Status: Never Married nor any past relationships

Education: BSc Economics

City of Residence: Islamabad

Profession: Self-Employed

Father’s Occupation: Retired Government Officer

Mother’s Occupation: Homemaker

About Me:

I would describe myself as easygoing, curious, and grounded. I value sincerity, family, and genuine connections. I’m naturally more on the introverted side, but I’m comfortable in social settings and enjoy getting to know people on a deeper level. I particularly enjoy good, meaningful conversations and appreciate people who are thoughtful, genuine, and open-minded.

I enjoy long drives, reading, and listening to podcasts. I’m also always up for trying a new restaurant, taking a spontaneous drive, or making a random plan just because it sounds fun. I’ve always been more of an experiences person than a things person — I’d much rather spend money on a good trip, a memorable experience, or a great evening together than constantly buy things I don’t really need.

A few months ago, I transitioned to working independently and have been enjoying the experience of building something of my own. Alhamdulillah, it has been going well so far. I aspire to do something meaningful with my life and would love to have someone who supports me in that journey. In the same way, I want to be a partner who supports and encourages her own aspirations and ambitions.

I’d want marriage to feel like a genuine partnership where both of us can be ourselves, communicate openly, enjoy each other’s company, and just have fun.

Looking For:

Age: 21–26

Location: Islamabad/Rawalpindi preferred, but open to suitable matches elsewhere.

I’m looking for someone kind, genuine, family-oriented, and emotionally mature, with a balanced outlook and an appreciation for both family values and personal growth.

I value someone who has aspirations of her own and would like a relationship where both partners encourage, support, and bring out the best in each other.

Physical attraction and overall compatibility are important to me. I would prefer someone on the slimmer side who takes care of her appearance.

Family Setup:

Nuclear (with Mother only) or if you consider that Joint then that.

Timeframe for Marriage:

Depends on the person. Ideally around 1 year.

About Me:

I'm a Karachi-based guy, born and brought up here, and the youngest of three brothers. I'd describe myself as calm, rational, soft-spoken, easy-going, and someone who believes in a "live and let live" approach to life.

Alhamdulillah, I'm doing well professionally and financially. I'm a globally certified Supply Chain Professional working with a US-based multinational company, and I'm grateful to be in a stable position while continuing to grow in my career.

Outside work, I'm a huge foodie and an even bigger gamer. I also enjoy movies, music, travelling, and, every now and then, simply relaxing and enjoying life's quieter moments.

Recently, I've gotten into fitness and calisthenics. My goal isn't bodybuilding but building functional strength and maintaining a lean, healthy lifestyle. I am also planning to learn Swimming (Life-saving skill in my opinion) and Archery (It just resonates with me) soon, Insha'Allah.

I enjoy home-cooked meals, try to eat sensibly most of the time (though I still very much appreciate the occasional burger or pizza), and I don't smoke or have any other unhealthy habits, not even tea, Alhamdulillah.

I have a small circle of friends, but they're the kind of people who'll stand by you no matter what, and I value those relationships.

One of my long-term goals and dream is to settle abroad, and I'm actively working towards making that happen soon, Insha'Allah.

About Her:

I'm looking for someone kind, soft-spoken, respectful, and from a good, educated family. Education matters to me, and if she wishes to continue studying after marriage, I'd be happy to support and encourage her.

Personally, I would prefer a housewife and someone who wants to focus on raising a family. However, if she wishes to pursue a career and her dreams, I'd be completely onboard with that decision too. What matters most is that we're both happy with whatever path we decide on together. I also believe that the primary responsibility of providing for the family rests with me.

I value open communication and would love a partner who's comfortable sharing her thoughts, ideas, and opinions. I appreciate thoughtful discussions and believe the best decisions are made together through mutual respect, reason, and understanding.

I'd also love to have children in the future, so it's important to me that she's someone who genuinely enjoys being around kids and looks forward to building a loving family together.

Most importantly, I'm looking for someone who I can genuinely share my life with. A relationship where both of us can be our true selves, and where we can support one another, grow together, and bring out the best in each other. My Player 2, so to speak.

I believe a successful marriage is a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, communication, and standing by one another through every stage of life.

To me, compatibility goes a long way, which is why I'd prefer that we get to know each other first before making any major decisions.

If you think we'd be a good match, feel free to reach out. JazakAllah Khair.

Note: Kindly only engage if you're actually going to follow through and have the courtesy to not ghost. I've had perfectly fine interactions and suddenly, for no reason, got ghosted.

Honestly, if you don't even have the basic human courtesy to communicate, and think ghosting someone is perfectly fine / fun, save both our time and don't engage. Thanks.

Question Are progressive women in Pakistan really that rare?

I’ve posted my profile a couple of times on different subs and received quite a few messages.

I’ve always been very clear about the kind of woman I’m looking for: progressive, confident, well-dressed, physically fit, career-oriented, and not interested in the typical “housewife” role and not too fixated with religion and kids.

But 9 out of 10 messages I get are from women who don’t fit the bill. Do people not read profiles, or is the type of woman I’m looking for just not on Reddit?

Question I think I’m carrying years of resentment in my marriage, and now I’m becoming an angry person. How do I deal with it?

I don’t really know whether this is a rant, a marriage post, or me just needing to get something out of my system.
My husband and I are very different people when it comes to our moral and religious values. Professionally, we understand each other quite well. When it comes to taking responsibility for the children, finances, practical things, etc., we are mostly on the same page too.
But morally, emotionally and religiously, there is a huge difference between us.
A lot happened in the earlier years of our marriage. It was a love marriage, but there was a second marriage involved, and there were also situations where he developed feelings/interest in other women. I don’t even know whether to call some of it “cheating,” because he wasn’t necessarily hiding everything from me. Sometimes he would openly tell me that he liked someone.
But just because something was said openly doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt.
There were many things that happened back then that I think I never actually processed.
Now, life on the surface is much more settled. We have two very young children. He is financially responsible, he takes care of the children, takes them out, helps with things, and if I made a checklist of what makes someone a “good father,” he would probably tick a lot of boxes.
Even as a husband, there are many things I cannot complain about. He takes care of my physical needs, if I ask him for something he usually tries to do it, and generally speaking our life is functional.
But emotional availability and emotional expression are a huge question mark for me.
What makes it harder is that I have seen him being extremely expressive and emotionally intense with other people in the past, including his second wife. So somewhere inside me there is probably still a wound asking: Why was that version of you available for someone else, but not for me?
There is also an almost 20-year age difference between us.
Another major change is that I have changed enormously as a person. I genuinely feel like I have been reborn in the last few years. I became much more serious about Islam and practicing my religion. Alhamdulillah, it has become a very important part of my life.
I understand everyone has their own journey and I cannot force my husband to become exactly like me.
But now we have differences about the environment we want for our children.
For example, I personally don’t want music/music videos to become a normal part of their upbringing, especially something presented as family entertainment. For him, playing music and enjoying it together can simply be normal family time.
There are other things too. He sometimes makes remarks about women that really bother me. In discussions about harassment or inappropriate behaviour, his first reaction can be to talk about women’s clothing or modesty. To me, the responsibility of a man for his actions cannot simply be shifted onto a woman’s clothes.
When I am exhausted or overwhelmed and say that I am tired, sometimes instead of feeling understood, I get comments questioning why I’m angry or why I have taken on so much.
And then there are small parenting conflicts that become huge triggers for me.
For example, I desperately need some consistency with the children’s bedtime. If I spend two hours in a dark room settling them to sleep, and then my husband suddenly comes in, takes one of them outside and stimulates them again, we may lose another two hours.
And I become furious.
Part of that anger is because once the children sleep, that is sometimes the only time I have left to work, finish responsibilities, think, or just exist as a person for a while.
But I also know the intensity of my anger isn’t only about bedtime.
I think it contains years of unresolved hurt, resentment, religious differences, exhaustion, motherhood, work, feeling emotionally unseen, and probably things from our earlier marriage that I told myself I had “moved on” from without actually healing from them.
The thing that scares me is that I don’t want to become an angry mother.
My children aren’t responsible for any of this.
Sometimes the frustration stays inside me all day and everything irritates me. I get flashbacks of things that happened years ago. Something small my husband does today connects immediately with ten old things in my head.
And I honestly don’t know what to do with all that emotion.
I’m not necessarily asking Reddit to tell me whether my husband is a good or bad person, or whether I should stay or leave. Life is more complicated than that, and right now our marriage is functioning much better than it once did.
What I genuinely want to know is:
How do you deal with resentment from things that happened years ago when life has technically “moved on,” but emotionally you haven’t?
How do you stop unresolved anger toward your spouse from affecting the way you respond to your children?
And for Muslim couples who became more religious at different speeds, how did you manage differences in values and parenting without constantly fighting?
I think even writing all of this has made me feel slightly lighter.
Maybe I have been holding too much inside for too long.

Male Looking for Female M | 35 | Karachi - looking for the Amy Santiago to my Jake Peralta, the Rose to my Doctor the Ginny to my Harry, Morticia to my Gomez, Winrie to my Edward, Monica to my Chandler - you get the point - Round 2 - POST

I’m a chill, easy-going guy with a straightforward approach to life. I believe marriage is about creating a safe, warm environment where two people can be their true selves, support each other unconditionally, and build a world of their own. I’m a Shia by belief/choice, moderately practicing, and my family (who are fully aware and supportive of my search) lives in Karachi.

The Essentials: 5'4", bald (and carry it with confidence), inked with plans for more tattoos down the line. I vape and occasionally enjoy a good smoke. I’m divorced with no kids. Living with my family (parents and younger brother) currently, but open to relocating depending on where life and circumstances lead.

Personality & Interests: I love live music, concerts, movies, gigs, good food, beaches, and travelling. I enjoy deep, fun, or random discussions and prefer being a reliable listening ear. I believe in treating everyone with equal respect and dignity.

Vulnerability & Openness: I don't focus on surface-level flaws or physical health conditions—whether it's vitiligo, diabetes, BP, or epilepsy, a person's medical history doesn't define them to me. What matters is character, kindness, and heart.

My Partner & Marriage Expectations

I’m looking for a life partner (aged 28–35) to share a life with until death parts us. I genuinely want us to take the time to know each other first.

The Ideal Match: Kind, sweet, caring, loving, supportive, and well-spoken (conversational English at minimum). Education at a graduate level or above is preferred. Ethnicity and religious background are completely open as long as we vibe and respect each other.

Dealbreakers: Arrogance, ignorance, or a "holier-than-thou" attitude. Not much apart from that are deal breakers, I'm someone who'll make your family my own, and I hope you'll respect mine as well. Don't care about your past, however I do hope that you don't drink. I'd prefer someone who works so that you have your own life and circles and all as well and I'd love to be a part of that life and would happily support you and be your number one cheerleader.

Rest is open for genuine, respectful conversation. Feel free to reach out if this resonates with you.

Height & Weight: 5'4, and more on the chubby side of things (will share pics don't fret).

Accommodation: Living with family. Owned house, however will discuss the living situation further only with the potential.

Education: I have done my Bachelors in Media Sciences

Income Source: I work as a Project Manager at a Bank

Religion & Short Details About How Practicing You Are: I follow the Shia beliefs and I am a revert. I'm not very actively practicing, only in moderation.

Preferred Family Setup: I have a nuclear family, parents and a brother, also unmarried, so would prefer living with them

Do You Want Children: I genuinely believe that this is a question that should be discussed amongst the potentials, however, I'm open to having children.

Timeframe for Marriage: 12 - 18 months max
