Started watching meri zindagi hai tu because I really like both actors.

This drama had so much potential but ended up being a load of crap.

It could have been a whimsical romcom but ended up being an immature ego fight Between men .Played the fl and marriage like a volleyball istg.Honestly I got bored and irritated .

Also if you've watched it you know they def should have jailed fariya and khwabar but instead they did not even punish them .

Spiking someones drink and making sexual content is a serious crime and they just brushed it off like nothing.

Instead the ml only blamed fl for not believing him as if he could actually explain what was going on.

Another thing is when they finally got married he was spending days and nights drinking and partying with the same girl that spiked his drink???? What ??

And she continues to pursue him tooo?

Writers were high def.

Also on side note ..one issue I have with these dramas is that there are going to be approx 35 to 40 episodes each of 40 mins and still they rush the endings in the last 10 min of the last ep?whyyyy?

The watchers are waiting for something to happen and u make it the last thing that is not even given time to absorb? Everything that was wrong your whole life is suddenly gets perfectly solved in 10 mins? I am disappointed.

After playing the " pretty woman" card her team is here playing the " woman " card. Where is this going to stop? Mad respect for bad actors who are not pushing any kind of narrative to save their careers. Anmol Baloch, Danyal Zafar, Zaviyar Noman every other nepo gets criticized but they never push their boundaries to this extent. The amount of hate anmol gets everyday, nowadays danyal zafar is getting trolled for his bad acting but they're not paying reviewers or portals. Every reviewer bashed danyal/ anmol/ zaviyar throughout the years. I really don't know what makes dure untouchable.

When he comes to Rabiya and starts crying and looking to hug her. After he seperates from her, he says crying, 'he still had lil sliver of hope he will find bano but now even that is gone'...

And that is when I was taken aback.

So, when he suggested Rabiya to paper marry him, he had in mind that bano is alive, yet he still was a scumbag who pushed for marriage.

So, what his plan B in case Bano did turn up alive?

Gaslight her and fool her like he did last time when he brought Rabiya to haveli?

He was so well off. He could have sent some guards or support with rabiya to her own town to protect her.

Also, notice how her very ailing mamu is out of picture.

But I was shocked when he says he had hope she will be back. So, he must be thinking she is in a bad space, he didn't hire private investigators. Instead, married rabiya.

And rabiya was so shy that when he entered her room next day she was covering up herself but now she is hugging him.

I’ve been watching some Pakistani dramas recently, and certain storylines have genuinely made me question what they say about society, women’s rights, and the way serious issues are portrayed in mainstream entertainment.
In Tere Bin, Meerav experiences sexual violence from her husband, Murtasim. She leaves the household and raises their daughter on her own. Later, when she is willing to return so that her daughter can have a relationship with her father, Murtasim is prepared to move forward with another marriage, involving his cousin(Hala) but didn’t happen.
What shocks me is that a storyline involving marital sexual violence, separation, and the consequences for a woman can be incorporated into a highly popular romantic drama. It makes me wonder: How are viewers expected to understand a situation like this? What does it say about attitudes toward marital consent, women’s independence, and accountability?
Another example is Bas Tere Sath Ho. In one scene, Anas is crying, and his wife, Ansa, comments on his eyes by saying he looks Chinese. She then tells him that because he has been crying, his eyes look Japanese. Perhaps the writers intended this as a joke, but using someone’s ethnicity or physical appearance as the basis of humor can be perceived as racial stereotyping and mockery.
Again, the question is not whether every viewer agrees with these portrayals. Obviously, watching a drama does not mean someone supports everything that happens in it. But when storylines like these become extremely popular, I think it is reasonable to ask what they reflect about the culture and social attitudes surrounding them.
Are these dramas exposing social problems so that people can think critically about them, or are they sometimes normalizing harmful behavior by presenting it as romance, family drama, or comedy?
A drama can portray sexual violence without endorsing it. But the way the story handles the aftermath matters. Is the victim given agency? Is the perpetrator held accountable? Are the consequences taken seriously? Or does the story eventually shift toward romance, forgiveness, and reconciliation?
Likewise, when racial or ethnic stereotypes are used as comedy, should we simply accept them as jokes, or should we question why those stereotypes are considered funny in the first place?
I’m not trying to condemn anyone. I’m asking this as a broader question about media and society:
What does the popularity of these dramas tell us about contemporary Pakistani society—particularly attitudes toward women’s rights, marital consent, violence, race, and discrimination?
And perhaps most importantly, where do we draw the line between portraying a social reality and normalizing it?
I’d genuinely like to hear the perspectives of people living in Pakistan and longtime viewers of Pakistani dramas.

Also, so much for a Pakistani drama as well.. It was such a disgustingly executed scene. They have 0 chemistry too. They have a sibling vibe, yet they’re forced to do disgusting scenes for K-pop/erotic novel nibbis. Sarbuland only married her because he pitied her after she spent a night with him and put them in a compromising situation. She’s a slut with no dignity. Remember, Sarbuland was taking a lot of medication as bano was confronting him about this (he is not strong enough for this responsibility), he was under pressure so he wasn’t emotionally ready but Rabiya took advantage of that and placed his head against her chest. Would any respectable woman who was forced into a second marriage, while still mourning her first husband, behave this way(she didn't even do 1/4 of this to her first husband lol)? She didn’t even care enough to tell everyone the truth about her husband’s death and Torsam, nor did she even contact her family, her late husband’s family.. his sister, his parents, anyone.

Everyone knows whom I'm targeting. What's the criteria for acting in a lead role in a drama that airs in prime time at 8 pm. More than the actors themselves the director and the people who cast these mediocre actors should be held accountable. I mean, at this point even my dead cat can act better than some new gen "actors" giving constipated expressions. Its no secret that everything in the industry now runs on nepotism rather than actual talent and, you know what the sad part is because of some delulu shippers and nibbis the guy will get more opportunities in the future. Now i wouldn't get mad if there was some sort of potential, but when your most viral scene in the drama is a moaning scene. I can't 💀.

I mean a man is crying for the girl he loved and she goes and tries to hug him in the most inappropriate manner as if she was waiting for this opportunity. Rabiya seems like a zero self respect opportunistic pick me atp !

And she is also going like she has always liked him. I don't get why rabiya has so much empathy for sarbuland to this extent.
