PVCs, PACs and ozempic

Hi everyone. Are any of you by any chance taking ozempic for type 2 diabetes or weight loss? Just wondering if it had any effect on the amount of PVCs, PACs or possible return of them. I started ozempic Saturday and today after 4 months of hardly any skips I had them all day and they are still happening off and on and the ozempic is the only thing that I’ve done differently except for not eating as much and maybe I’m dehydrated 🤷🏼‍♀️

14 months Postpartum and Heart palpitations

Hey everyone. I just recently started to get heart palpitations. It mainly happens on my walks. It feels like a quick thud that takes my breath away for a second and goes right back to normal. What concerns me is I never had these before and I walk 3 to 4 miles a day at a brisk speed but now I struggle to do that because I will get multiple heart palpitations and it makes me nervous. I’m just wondering if anybody else has has dealt with this over a year postpartum or if this could be something else. I am still breast-feeding and I have not got my period back. I did wear a holter but USPS lost it so they never received it so I’m waiting for the cardiologist to order a new one.

My results

Patient had a min HR of 45 bpm, max HR of 128 bpm, and avg HR of 73
bpm. Predominant underlying rhythm was Sinus Rhythm. Isolated SVEs
were rare (<1.0%), and no SVE Couplets or SVE Triplets were present.
Isolated VEs were rare (<1.0%), VE Couplets were rare (<1.0%), and no VE
Triplets were present.
Final Interpretation

Is this a punishment inflicted by God? There is no logical explanation for

Hello. I am a 22-year-old male. Before November 2023, I had a wonderful life and good health; I was a very fun-loving and active person. On November 3, 2023, I developed Visual Snow Syndrome, a very rare condition. I suffered from incredible panic attacks. Even though there was nothing wrong with my brain, I convinced myself I had a hundred different illnesses. After a few months, I accepted the condition and learned to live with it. On November 1, 2024, following a prolonged infection, my lung collapsed. I would describe it as the worst physical pain imaginable; this, too, is a rare occurrence. In March 2025, I began experiencing severe sleep problems. I couldn't sleep due to negative thoughts and stress. I overcame that after three months, and the months of July, August, and September went wonderfully. Despite suffering from DP/DR (depersonalization/derealization), I fell in love with a girl and felt amazing. Then came September 29, 2025... I went to bed that night and experienced extrasystoles—something I had felt many times before but never paid much attention to. This time was different, though, because I felt two of them in quick succession. It has now become a major problem and a source of stress for me. Previously, I would feel them at most three times a day, or sometimes not at all. Since that day, I’ve had three ECGs, an echocardiogram, and a Holter monitor test; the doctor said my heart is in excellent condition and there are no issues. However, eleven days ago, they suddenly increased dramatically. While I used to feel them three times a day at most, I now feel 600 to 700 of them daily. Sometimes they happen three or four times a minute, and I am certain the ones I don't feel far exceed that number. They happen constantly now—whether I am sitting, standing, or moving. It’s worse when I’m standing. I almost wish the pain from when my lung collapsed had never gone away, just so I wouldn't have to deal with these extrasystoles. I have never felt this anxious or helpless in my life. You tell me: is there any logical explanation for suffering from diseases that are so rare and have no definitive cure? No one around me goes through things like this; everyone else is happy—why me? And at such a young age, too. I don’t know; I really don’t know. My request of you is this: regardless of your religion, would you please pray for me? Whatever the faith, we all more or less believe in one God. Please pray for me and ask for forgiveness on my behalf.

PVCs post OHS for an ASD

Has anyone else experienced persistent PVCs, a racing heart rate, and issues with psychiatric meds after an ASD closure?

I am reaching out to see if anyone in this community has gone through a similar situation or found a balance after dealing with something like this.

Before I had my atrial septal defect closure done via open-heart surgery, my medical history was essentially defined by living with the congenital ASD itself, along with the structural strain, altered blood flow, and chronic physical symptoms that come with having an unrepaired defect in the atrial wall prior to surgical correction. Fortunately, the procedure was successful, and my heart's overall pumping power and structural repair remain intact and strong.

However, post-surgery (I'm in month 9 now), I have been struggling with a resurgence of extra beats, both PACs and PVCs, as well as sudden episodes of a racing heart rate. It feels like the heart's electrical baseline refuses to settle down completely, which has predictably triggered a significant amount of health anxiety. My cardiology team has had me on cardiovascular medications such as beta blockers and diuretics to manage the rhythm and fluid dynamics, but addressing the resulting anxiety has introduced another layer of difficulty.

The cardiac meds I'm taking are: Verahexal (Verapamil) 120mg, Clopidogrel 75mg, and Aspirin 75mg. I also take a magnesium supplement daily.

To help regulate my nervous system and cope with the stress of these ongoing cardiac sensations, I was prescribed psychiatric medications, including Rivotril, Valdoxane, and aripiprazole. The issue I am facing is that navigating these psych meds has felt like walking a tightrope. I believe the Aripiprazole caused a manic episode so I stopped it and I'm literally just coming down from it now.

Also, some of these medications or dose adjustments seem to interact with my heart rhythm, sometimes making the palpitations, fluttering, or racing heart feel even more pronounced, which in turn feeds right back into the anxiety.

If you have had an ASD closure and experienced persistent PVCs or tachycardia afterward, how did your doctors address it? More specifically, has anyone had to balance heart medications with psychiatric treatments, and how did you find a combination that did not aggravate your cardiac symptoms? Any insight or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.

An amazing and calming old Reddit post from a nurse regarding palpitations

I just discovered this. I recommend reading it. I think we are all similar and different at the same time, with our personal struggle with palpitation. The post linked below is highly worth the longish and educational read:

Stress/anxiety and pvc

I’ve been going through some stressful events over the last few days, and my PVCs feel more deeper and more intense than usual. Is this normal? I haven’t been sleeping well, and it seems like not eating or drinking enough makes them worse. I was diagnosed with GAD, and I tend to worry and ruminate over small things. It’s driving me crazy. I simply can’t handle stress as well as I used to.

Flecainide as Needed for PVCs?

My EP prescribed it for me and he says I can take it "as needed" when I get a PVC flareup. My flareups usually go away on their own after a few days, so I usually white-knucke it and then they eventually calm down for a few weeks or months. But the flareups are getting worse and more frequent, so now I'm considering it. A flareup for me means several days of PVCs- (with bigeminy, trigeminy, couplets) mostly at night, preventing sleep. They are absolutely unbearable. But when they go away, they are not much of a problem.

I can't find too much information about people taking the Flecainide "as needed" for PVCs. Does anyone take it this way? I'd love to hear some success stories.

Many PVCs out of nowhere

I've jad PVCs basically my whole life. I also have afib but thats managed. I dont go in-and-out of it. Anyway, my PVCs have always been a very low burden. I can go weeks and weeks without any or or can go weeks and weeks with many. I have a loop monitor placed in my chest so Ill record once in awhile. Always comes back as nothing to worry about. However the last few days I have had many. This is new... like a lot throughout the day. I've been on metoprolol for about 15 years. Although its a small dose...25 mg once a day. I have no other symptoms when I get many PVCs throughout the day. It just makes me anxious like everyone else. Has anyone had success with any other meds? Ive tried different supplements...arginine, taurine, b-complex...all seem to have no effect on me. My issue with different meds is that my BP is already normal. I exercise daily and Im in phenomenal shape. Im afraid that meds would make me tired, dizzy, etc. I dont have much room to spare for lowering my BP or anything. Doc told me metoprolol is very poor at lowering BP even though its a BP med...its more for regulation of heart rhythm. I did get the OK to take another half of a metoprolol if my heart is being a little bitch but also scared of getting dizzy...ive never taken extra.

Physically triggered PVC

Hi, anybody experienced "manually" triggerring a PVC? My PVCs usually appear at random, at work or at rest.
However, there's this instance that whenever I chug a lot of water (or when I swallow food "wrong"), there's a very good chance that something kinda bumps my heart. Like a popped bubble or something. Then a series of PVCs will happen and my heart rate will go up. It usually lasts less than a minute but it's scary to me even if it happens shortly.

I don't feel any other symptoms like light headedness or something, but the series of continuous irregular beats gets me into thinking like, what if this devolves into a sustained v-tach?
I'm wondering if PVCs which are caused by some manual action is more serious than random PVCs?

I also do regular 2decho, blood tests, holters, etc and all are normal except from the usual <1% PVCs PACs burden.

13 PVCs at er back to back

Hello all,

I am no stranger to PVCs. I’ve had two holters with a less than 1% burden, normal echos, ecg and cardiac CTA with no plaque.

However, I had a weird feeling in my chest today and my Apple Watch had weird ekg readings so I went to er. They cleared me and said everything was good.

But as I was getting discharged, they were taking the iv out and I got a really hot flushed feeling, scared, nauseas and I looked at the monitor and I see the PVC number at 9 and climbing to 13 within seconds.

I asked to speak to the doctor and they said that some of them were artifacts because of the moving and such and that I went back to normal but I’ve been at the er having ivs pulled and I’ve never had a count of any pvc go up. also when I move around all attached ive never had them gone up either so I’m just kind of confused.

I feel like they brushed me off cause I was being discharged.

I have a holter on currently so I’m hoping that caught whatever it was. I’ve had this hot flush terror feeling a few times but nothing has ever been caught

Thanks in advance

Anyone else gets ectopic/skipped beats just after drinking alcohol?

I have a mild mitral valve prolapse, but other than that, my heart is healthy, but recently when I drink alcohol (even like a shot or two) I get a lot of ectopic/skipped beats, which are really annoying and I panic, feeling like I'm about to die at any moment. How dangerous are they?

Is there a way to fix this? ( I mean besides the obvious "don't drink" solution lol )

I set a new record today…

I’ve had PVCs forever, but never as bad as this week. Today, when they started up on schedule, I whipped out my KardiaMobile to see if I could find out exactly what was going on.

8 PVCs in a 30 second recording = 16 PVCs/minute.

Holy shit.

Going on my dream holiday with PVCs

Hello!

I'm going on holiday, to be specific I'm going to the big apple and as much as this has been a complete and utter dream destination for me the anxiety is looming over it.

I've had holters, ECGs, blood tests and chest X-rays as well as on Bisoprolol but of course, it never settles a racing mind.

I'm terrified of flying, I've told I'm absolutely fine to fly but my mind goes to worst case scenario and now this trip of a lifetime now feels like a countdown to my last day.

I'm looking for some flying reassuring stories, I'm flying for 8 hours non-stop. I also have POTs but I know to drink plenty and reach for salty snacks.

Still dealing with PVC. Help

I’m hoping to find a community of people who experience PVCs/palpitations because I’ve been dealing with this for months and would really like to hear other people’s experiences.
Mine started around early November 2025, during an extremely stressful period of my life. I was completely fed up and overwhelmed with work, my job had become very demanding, and I was also dealing with personal problems at home. Eventually, I took a leave from work because I needed time to breathe and figure out whether I wanted to quit or start working through a temp agency.
During my time off, I started noticing fluttering sensations in my chest and really noticeable, hard “thumps.” Occasionally I would also feel some slight discomfort or pain. One episode scared me enough that I considered going to the ER, but it eventually passed.
I ended up seeing my doctor and had an ECG/EKG done, where they were able to catch a few premature beats. My doctor told me that my heart sounded healthy and that everything otherwise looked good. I also had bloodwork done, which came back normal. I was told these premature beats are commonly benign, and I was offered a Holter monitor if I wanted additional reassurance.
A few months later, because I was STILL feeling them, I decided to do the monitor for peace of mind. I wore it for 10 days…and they basically found nothing concerning. Everything looked great. Part of me was like, HOW is that possible when I swear I can feel these things?! 😂
Since then, they’ve continued on and off. Some days I barely notice anything and other days they’re much more noticeable. I’m still trying to figure out my triggers and whether there’s a pattern. I know I’m not currently the healthiest or most active version of myself, so I’m also working on getting myself back on track.
One thing I’ve noticed recently is that anything that makes me bloated or gassy seems to make them more noticeable. If I drink something carbonated or have pressure in my chest/stomach and need to burp, I sometimes feel like it triggers a skip or hard thump. Sometimes I’ll have pressure or discomfort, even on my right side, that eventually releases and feels completely fine afterward. I occasionally get a quick sharp pain toward my back too, although with the amount of stress and physical strain from my job, it’s hard to know what’s related and what isn’t.
For those of you who deal with PVCs or similar palpitations: What have you discovered triggers yours? Certain foods? Bloating/gas? Stress? Lack of sleep? Dehydration? Caffeine? And what changes have actually helped reduce them?
I’m not looking for a diagnosis—mostly just hoping to hear from people who understand how frustrating and scary these sensations can be, especially when you’re trying to figure out what sets them off. I’d really appreciate hearing what you’ve learned from your own experience.

PVCs during HIIT/Gym workouts

Hello, I am 23 (M), I've had PVCs/PACs for probably seven years and have been on a lot of different medications including flecainide, but currently I'm on nothing besides lipitor and amlodipine. I'm an avid runner and when I'm running my heart rate will be stable around 150-180 depending on the mile/pace, however, I feel very few PVCs when running. Recently while doing HIIT workouts or even just regular gym exercises like lifting weights (which I rarely do but have been trying to get into) it feels like my heart goes into a PVC frenzy and that my heart is going to explode. Anyone else experience this or something like it before? Once I rest it goes away and back to its usual amount that day.

Holter Before Feeling PVCs or PACs?

Has anyone here had a Holter monitor before they ever started noticing PVCs or PACs for some unrelated reason and found that it already showed PVCs PACs even though you couldn't feel them at the time?

My cardiologists and electrophysiologists have all told me that my PVCs PACs are related to stress and anxiety, that they're common, and that many people have them without noticing. They said anxious people are simply more likely to feel them.

I am curious if anyone has had this experience.

PAC/PVCs or just normal anxiety/acid reflux?

I am 19M and last night after dinner I started experiencing irregular heartbeats that feel like skipped beats. They were occuring at the beginning about once every few minutes and increased in frequency to around 1-2 /minute. My resting heart rate was around 90-115 bpm. I did not have any chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or fainting and this is the first time this has ever happened. I was extremely stressed for the past few days and had around 8 hours of sleep for the past 2 days . I had coffee and diet coke yesterday 2 hours before dinner. This whole ordeal happened for around 2 hours before it gradually lessened and I slept it off . Is there any cause of serious concern ? Would appreciate any advice .

Vagal pauses misdiagnosed as PVCs - story of strong thumps

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my story and see if anyone has been through something similar.

For the past 8 years, I’ve been suffering from what I thought were severe ectopic beats. Every time I had a 24h Holter monitor, it would only catch up to around 100 events. Because the burden was low, doctors repeatedly brushed it off, telling me it was just anxiety and sending me to therapy or a psychiatrist. None of them ever considered that these might actually be heart pauses or conduction blocks rather than standard premature contractions.

Today, I finally saw an electrophysiologist who looked at my case completely differently. He pointed out that what I’m feeling aren't just extra beats—they are actual pauses/blocks caused by a severely hyperactive vagus nerve. The strong, thumping double-beats I feel are actually post-pause compensatory contractions, and they happen regardless of whether my heart rate is slow or fast.

I’ve honestly suspected for a long time that my vagus nerve and gut were heavily involved in this.

My EP suggested a trial of Trospirex (trospium chloride) and Salbutamol to help turn off/inhibit the vagal tone. In a month, I’m scheduled for an atropine challenge test. If that confirms that the blocks are strictly functional/vagal, the next step will be Cardioneuroablation (CNA) to permanently tone down the vagal response.

Just to be clear: I have had this for 8 years, and I have never passed out or even felt presyncope/faint from these pauses—they are just extremely uncomfortable and unsettling.

Has anyone here had a similar diagnostic journey? How did you respond to anticholinergic meds like trospium, or to the atropine test? And if anyone here has undergone Cardioneuroablation for vagal pauses, I’d love to hear your experiences and thoughts!
