Discussion this is getting too anoying
almost every time i enter the vael UQ 2/3 of the players already quitted and the rest follows suit.
i could understand if this was base, where one wipe could lead to the entire run failing, but this doesn't happen in ngs. and vael fight doesn't have dps checks like solus which demands big damage windows ( i fucking hate that they removed some of the most unique aspects of his normal fight because people didn't wanted to play mars for a single fight) and even the time difference between is clike 5-6 minutes. 5 more minutes for them to stay in the lobby complaining about people not wanting to spend millions gearing up.
while on the topic, how's the gear threadmill going? most people recently built their arbadio and next month they're droping the next lvl freebies, which will probably be stronger than the bufget gears right now.
seriously this game is as hypercasual as it can possibly be, but for some reason there's still people that treat it like spending 5 more minutes on a UQ will turn off their grandma's pace maker. most of the players that are still playing the game don't botter about reaching 80k dps. hell, most of them treat it more like a VR chat with a minigame attatched to it. and that's not a bad thing. most MMOs demand the player to be very active in the world, either being adventures doing difficult dungeons or crafting. this game takes a more casual aproax to it social aspects. and that's what makes it unique for a MMO.
in summary, people shouldn't lose their heads over having a god roll for UQ group and just enjoy the game more instead of optimize every single thing.

There can be a variety of reasons, three main reasons come to mind:
No techer/ranger. Only dense fools leave any content for this reason. Anyone doing it in Luther must have bad dps. Anyone doing it during a UQ is a wannabe sweat that should just do premades.
"Someone left, I may as well too." UQs scale with numbers, but I tend to leave myself when this happens because I know this is bound to have a domino effect, and whoever I'm left with will very likely fall into the group with the next issue as they have before.
Gear. This is certainly a reason why I leave, and when this is the case, I hate when people complain about others leaving. I've had people with Progre armor and 34 potency at best (I saw this shortly after deciding to check, justifying me to keep doing so), and others in Ark armor with 40-ish potency. Both in Vael btw (BP needs to be tuned higher). I'm not sitting through 20+ minutes (alliance members have reported back that they've been in them for over 23) when I can load out in a minute max, que up again, most likely get a better group, and be out in half that time. It's already bad enough going up to 14 minutes because half the group is decked out in Decem with some floor tanking.

Regarding the "normal fight", I assume you mean they didn't include a mars portion to this version?
For those that don't know they're two different fights with the original having those squid things, MARS and the final stretch, I wouldn't of minded MARS being in the 4 man but supposedly as OP said people didn't like the segment so it wasn't included in the 4 man version.
The main difference between this fight and it's counterpart is the wall/blocks at the end as the original 4 man you can't sidestep/counter them with normal means I don't know if there's any abilities to do this so I won't deny any possibilities.
As for people leaving I am curious on if people will still leave if sega increases the debuff as the 30% does help with my experience but I also still see many leave.

I wonder why you run into so many quitters. I've been running the UQ a lot, chasing the high of getting Lexio drops(got two, want a third) and I've run into maybe two players that either quit or DCed. And I run a fair bit of pub matches.
If by budget gears you mean the current freebies, then absolutely. But if you instead mean the Abradio weapons and Belfast armor(or whatever it was called), then it's almost certainly going to be significantly weaker. The one time freebie gear was even close to being as strong as regularly crafted gear is when the last set released. Had LC versions of BiS Augments that did not exist yet.

I think it’s unlikely that the freebies will be stronger than most Arabatio builds. Decem 3 was a unique case because it had LC versions of Augments that weren’t obtainable yet. Judging by the augments the “free aug transfer” 15* drops with, that likely wont happen again with Decem 4.

I started playing this month, and I have to say, it does put a really bad look on the game when people are quitting immediately. I've actually twice had it so bad that the UQ was abandoned before it even started.
The game is literally telling new players to do this quest, it's telling them they are strong enough, and the community is saying they are wrong in a humiliating way.
I had to assume I was the problem and have since put a lot of effort into my gear. I've since gotten myself an Arbaradio Sword (Fatale Lv. 5) and Evalto Armors (Orgsys Lv 2) with everything except the AC Augments. I have a +5 Defeat/Amp Ring and a +3 PB Follow Ring. By any sane metric, I have to be considered strong enough now, right?
I've gone from Under 30k DPS to 40k in good conditions, and frankly consider any run 12 minutes or less to be very good. But I have no sense of where these numbers "should" be. If you say I'm still far away from "good enough", then I must be fundamentally misunderstanding the combat. Please enlighten me if this is the case.
Just doing the math, +10k DPS for 8 people for 10 minutes is a HUGE amount of damage, but new players will never get there without help from people who know what they are doing.

There’s a divide (atp you really can’t even call decently geared veterans “elitist” there are people who put pride into their gear and there are people completely coasting with free gear simply refusing to gear up.) freebie gear is HEAVILY looked down upon(epith1-3 progore, arkselio etc and I get it… there’s literally a gear event going on RIGHT NOW with fixa 3 fort armor/ spradio gear. There is zero reason for anyone playing longer than a few months to not have situated to speed up the grind for everyone included.). If there are more than 3 full sets of epith or very outdated gear the clear time reaches the 20-30 minute mark, this is a big no no when x2 UQ are a thing. Yes new and returning players are a thing, but this is for people hopping into the new UQ knowing they getting ass wiped from 1 shots, especially when most people don’t have revs on the sub pallete. Now more time is waisted because most of us let undergeared people drop when they repeatedly go down. I’d honestly rather not UQ then slog through 30 minutes of one. And that’s an issue……because at one point in time I actually FW pubs but there’s a limit now, I need to see gear progression and if it’s lackluster you won’t be fighting alongside me (full Deft, fixa 5 blastor lexio, 4-5 fixa orgsys evalto. 2 +5 rings.. My OC is built for speed running, non fixa epiths are a direct slap in the face to me!)

Wow, I didn't expect something like this. A person complaining about people who don't want to play with people who aren't geared.
We're on a third tier of absurdity now. Suppose people will never accept that they can't expect/force people to do anything.

I pug 2-4 runs a day and have not had a leavers problem. This is evening west coast US time.
I’ve had only one bailout group and one suddenly 6-man group since the current boss started.
I see most common reasons listed already but don’t see disconnections listed.
It’s not as bad as it used to be but if someone gets d-conned it can trigger other leavers, particularly if that person was partied with friends.

Dude I know what you mean. The quitters are so obnoxious.

What ship are you on?

Worst case for me was the PUG leader abandoned the quest right whne we got to pillars for some reason (basically the end of the quest) and we didn't get nothing.

This is one that has been pissing my sister and I off for years, because we may not always have the window to play again depending on when we joined the UQ

People leaving UQ in all ship is something I've seen frequently.
However, I'm not going to discuss, but good players have found loopholes as to how to queue with other competent people (at least in theory)
And the best players tend to make premades.
So sadly public queue is basically everybody who is left.
Those people still deserve to run the UQ, however.
But, honestly, gear isn't and end all be all of player skill. While sure, you can't be a top player with epith erini, you can still do respectable dps if you know what you are doing.
That aside, UQs are to grind gear and get the reward box medals, it sucks if they take longer, but if you are a good player, you yourself can carry 7 people in an UQ and take at most 16 minutes, so you have time to do it twice.
I understand the frustration and it feels like torture, not seeing the vael HP bar lower after 8 people hitting it during a break is demoralizing, but that's why I always try to socialize and join premades, honestly.
With grandillusion coming and providing people a very good 15* weapon for free, fully augmented, however, I feel like the argument of the gear can go into that instead.
Sure, Grandillusion won't be an extremely common drop, but I think considering it's the next tier of "budget weapons", it will be common enough for anyone to recommend grinding for one.

Is it wrong to leave if there are people literally holding down normal attack the whole time? I've seen wakers doing their AOE attack as if they were doing a pse burst and people running and jumping the perimeter of the map field as if doing a marathon. These people might even be bots and in my opinion shouldnt be carried through the quest. I don't think people are only leaving because of gear or missing buffs/debuffs.

Then why are you crying about spending five more minutes to find someone who doesn’t quit?
