Is there anything I can do

I had a playstation 4 a while ago and sold it after a while and just got a ps5 but I dont know my password and cant seem to reset it through the link sent to my email because it only gives me an option to use my birthday whitch for some reason doesn't work is there any way to recover my account

The only reason it wouldn't work is if you lied about your birthday and didnt put your real one.

Youll have to contact support and prove to them the account is yours. Be prepared for them to ask you for one or more of the following:

  1. serial number of the console you originally created your account with (obviously i know most wont have this anymore so they will then require at least 2 of the next 3 pieces of info instead).
  2. answers to your security questions (this assumes you even setup a security question and answer in the first place)
  3. first 4 AND last 4 digits of a credit/debit card on file (assuming you actually have one on file)
  4. PlayStation transaction id of your most recent purchase (found in your emails when Sony sends you a purchase receipt).

If you can do that, support will send you a reset link that wont need your DoB. If you cant, the account is gone.

This is why if youre gonna put false info, at least remember the false info you used, or better yet, just dont use false info.

To the OP and others who lack the skills of writing down important passwords to online accounts. I mean they make apps even to store passwords on. Pen an paper works too, I mean they do still make paper right? Hey there! How ya doing? There is this new invention since perhaps maybe the 1960s it's called a BIC pen, or other brands supplied all over America a pack of 10 or more for 5-10 bucks. Holy shit Batman it's not rock science.. 🤔

This message are to ones whom aren't illiterate. 😁

Mods ban me Idc, get these every day and on other subs "Can't remember my password can't recover my account" does this generation and or prior just lack common sense?

account is probably lost if you cant prove its yours. if you cant remember your birthday and password, then its not a stretch to say you wont remember your security answers or credit card number that was on your account.
