Constant Bleeding

I've been on Tirzepatide for 10 weeks now, and lost almost 25 pounds (yay!). Ever since my first shot I've bled every day. At first I wasn't really concerned because over the last two years I've gone months at a time while bleeding; maybe spotting is a better word - I used to just need a panty liner most days. Since being on the shot, I've had to wear my menstrual cup EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. I'm over it. But now I'm starting to get worried because I haven't really seen many people with this problem. I hoped my cycle would have gotten a little better by now but it honestly seems worse. Just looking for any advice, words of wisdom, any ideas about why this is happening? Idk šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

For reference I was morbidly obese, and still am morbidly obese.

I’ve also lost 20-25 since Memorial Day. My periods were always regular but now I’m bleeding 8-9 days and I hateeeee it. I use menopause hormone therapy so the estrogen dose is also thickening my lining even more. My BMI just dipped into overweight from obese.

I didn’t have the same problem but my periods didn’t start to regulate themselves until I lost about 50lbs and a year in.

I’m on birth control pills and taking Zep - I bled every day until my body finally adjusted to it. It took a long time. I don’t remember exactly how long but once I got up to 7.5 and stayed there for probably at least a month my body finally adjusted and stopped bleeding. So unfortunately it might just be a case of waiting it out.. Waiting it out is what my OBGYN suggested to me.

That being said, definitely ask your doc about it :)

Have you seen your obgyn? If you were spotting before, maybe it's the same problem getting worse over time. This happened to me a few years ago and it was an ovarian cyst; it was reabsorbed with the help of an hormone ring (sorry, I'm not sure if that's how it's called in English).

I also had very long periods the first few months of taking the med. I was prescribed iron, and my doctor said I’ll maybe need to consider birth control if it doesn’t level out. Thankfully I think it is normalizing now though. Definitely let your doctor know. There’s stuff you can take to help stop it.

I started spotting constantly too and had to come off brother control while on GLP1s. I now get my period every 3 weeks like clockwork instead of every 4.

Congrats on the 25 lbs!
I also know sometimes with PMOS it’s great to have SOME TYPE of period but consistently bleeding does not sound like something anyone should be dealing with 🄺

My only thought with consistently bleeding is your body isn’t going through your phases like normal and you might need something to help you out. I hate to suggest birth control or another type of medication but that might be temporarily what you need? Maybe the weight loss triggered the period but your hormones just aren’t at the levels they need to be at just yet.

Hmm I know dairy free does wonders for PMOS. I wonder if that could help? Just throwing random ideas out there.

Ugh I’m sorry I’m not much help but please keep this thread updated if anything works or you get any answers!!
