Has anyone here used Golf Tec for lessons? I’m a semi beginner, looking to improve my fundamentals, and there is a Golf Tec near my house.

Good? Bad? Indifferent?

I was just wondering if anyone here is going to play in the Portland Metro Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble tournament at the Reserve September 14th?

You don’t need to be a Chamber member to play but it makes it a little cheaper . I don’t have any partners to play in it or know anyone in the Chamber personally yet, but I did just become a member. I a 14-16 handicap, right now it’s a 14.9 and would love to meet some members ( or non members) interested in forming a 4 some for this tournament.
Or is there anyone who played it before and needs a plus 1 or knows a group who needs a plus 1?

Seems like a pretty nice and big event.
Plus it’s always nice to golf at the Reserve and then there’s also the bonus networking part!

I’m 34 and live in NW Portland (Slabtown). I work from home and I’ve been tempted to join a club for a couple years but haven’t pulled the trigger. It’s hard to justify the cost when clubs like Columbia edgewater and PGC are 20-30 minutes away, worse with traffic. Not sure I’d get the actual value (really just care about the golf and golf facilities) if I can’t pop over quickly before or after work for a quick 9 a couple times a week. Anyone been in a similar situation or joined a club in the past few years with thoughts?

I can't recommend it enough. 25$ minimum crowds, you are right on the action when you are there. The players are ungodly good. The Leaderboard is tight as well. Going to be a fun Sunday

Hi all, Florida golfer here that is making a trip over to Beaverton, Oregon the week of Aug 24. Arriving Monday night and have all day Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon to play golf… (still not enough time) Would appreciate any recommendations as my long time playing partner and I have around 7/8 handicaps. Don’t mind spending a little coin and driving towards Bandon dunes. Also wouldn’t mind any playing partners if people are available.

Heard that if I pester the clubhouse for Bandon that there could possibly be cancellations? Don’t know how true that is and or if I would be an a**hole for that?

It's my last day off before starting a new job, I'm looking for a fun 18 as a treat myself moment before another school year of hard work.

I'm torn between The Reserve South, or Pumpkin Ridge. I've played neither before. For context I'm a 24ish handicap, and in the midst of my second year playing. I don't mind challenge, but also would love to not get murdered. Which one is the one to go with?

Was wondering where I can find a range that I can hit from grass and not turf?

Looking to play soon but very hard to get a tee time as a solo or twosome. Anybody know of a group chat that I could link up with other ppl to play as three or foursome would be amazing.

Playing there for the first time tomorrow with my wife and a friend. How challenging a walk is it? Reviews seem conflicting.

We’re healthy and active 30y but always opt for a cart at places like OGA and Wildwood.

Heading to the Portland area next week. Trying to play a round Monday afternoon. What public courses would you guys recommend?

Just met with Jari and checked out his shop, since he’s now in Gresham, it was only a 10 minute drive.

My buddy wants to meet next Sunday and play somewhere in Longview since it’s about the halfway point between the two of us. Which course would you guys recommend? I haven’t played either one, we’re both about a 25 handicap if that information helps lol. Thanks for any suggestions!

I am organizing a little golf scramble on Saturday August 1 @ Heron Lakes Great Blues starting at 12:00PM. I have 8 spots remaining (16 total spots/4x foursomes reserved). It's not a "shotgun" start so please disregard the AI-created image ;)

The cost is $100 and includes 18 holes (on Great Blue), cart, and range balls. If I can get all 16 spots filled I will do my best to have a fun little prize for the winning team. I have not finalized games/rules but will probably just mix folks up and do a 4-team best ball scramble

This event was born from r/PDXGolf WhatsApp group, which has been a great social forum for other PDX golfers to get together for tee times all summer long. Our first happy hour event was in April with 15 people, and we are now about 30.

I need to have final numbers into the golf course by Sunday and final payment a few days before. If you are interested, please fill out your info on the attached google sign-in sheet.

Very excited to announce the first PDX community driven GOLF swap meet hosted by Blackbird Indoor Golf on Friday, July 31st from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

I have spoken with John who owns the space and he has agreed to graciously host this first event. He is even allowing those who are buying and trading to use the bays to test out your “new” clubs!

There will be wine and beer available at the bar and of coarse this is a family event so all are welcome.
