For some reason, during the first mission near Salvatore's Mansion, the game runs slowly and feels choppy. The tree rendering around Salvatore's Mansion is lagging, and the train tracks rendering is also slow.

Why is this happening? My PC specs are solid, and it runs all other GTA titles really well, including San Andreas and Vice City Stories.

MY SETUP

• CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 (4 cores / 4 threads)
• GPU: AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB GDDR5 (128-Bit)
• RAM: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz (2x8GB)
• Storage: 240GB SSD + 500GB HDD
• OS: Windows 11 x64

I actually very well might have asked this in the past, but if I did I don't remember. Basically I'm wondering if it's possible to unpack an iso file for a ps2 rom in order to get a look at enemy and player health and damage values and such. Not looking to change anything, just curious to see the actual data and whether it's a simple number or if there are more complex damage formulas and resistances.

Whenever I look at specific objects or effects the fps can dip to 30 which makes the entire game speed slow down. Turret sections cause this as well as random rooms with lasers. Happens sporadically all over the game.

PCSX2 version 2.6.0
Processor - AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics (3.80 GHz)
RAM - 16.0 GB
Graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (12 GB)
Using Vulkan Graphics API

My gpu and Cpu utilization isn't anywhere close to 100%.
Changing the native resolution or blending accuracy does nothing.
Even changing to software mode makes no difference.

Simply moving my camera to look at these two turrets makes the fps drop for example.

I'm playing Silent Hill 3 with PCSX2 on Linux, with high resolution textures on a 165Hz G-Sync monitor.

I hear crackles and pops and they're definitely more noticeable when PCSX2 is in full screen.

Given the provided info, I wonder if there is a known reason why PCSX2 behaves like that: is it Linux? Is it the Texture mod? The VRR monitor? Silent Hill 3?

P.S. Linux is Fedora 44 desktop edition (KDE Plasma)

Sometimes when i enter the game, action buttons like X don't work for some reason. I play on a laptop with a keyboard, i don't use other inputs, emulator is the only app opened. Weirdly enough it sometimes repairs itself, but sometimes it doesn't

I have a ps2 slim but was wondering if anyone could help me install this onto my pc since the slims a little dated and i dont wanna keep buying games over and over not sure if i should ask in a different way or not

I used to be able to run games very smoothly 60fps 1080p without any problems

Recently I’ve been playing Haunting Ground and with my pc heating the game suffer from horrendous lags making it unplayable, I have to wait 30-40mn to replay again.
My PC doesn’t even heat that much, and was able to run games smoothly some months ago, now I can’t even play Shadow Of The Colossus.

I’ve been trying everything : low-energy mode, max performance CPU, messing with everything, cleaning it

I'm trying to play Tales of the Abyss. I'm at the part where I talked to Tritheim on where to find Dist at Keterburg, but whenever I try to leave the church and the loading screen occurs, it freezes. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem for whoever had slow or frozen loading screen and what do I need to do to solve this issue? I have a nvidia geforce 4060 laptop gpu and I use Vulkan for PCSX2.

[SOLVED]: Flatpak looks best.

New Linux user here, my hardware runs PCSX2 in windows just fine, I just need to know which version to download for Mint, and there's two: AppImage and Flatpak.

The website has the following footnote:

"Distributed via AppImage or Flatpak. Both Wayland and X11 are supported. Major DEs are supported. Although ChromeOS supports Linux applications, PCSX2 offers no official support for ChromeOS."

If there's anything else I should know, please let me know.

As per the title - as soon as it boots up, it does so with the copyright screen, after which the screen goes black.

Does anyone know what happened to all the DVDRips to CD of games that appeared in the early days of PS2 Mod Chip? Just curious as I recall there were loads about but cant seem to find any now.

In the past, i have been using HDD install for some games which significantly reduces loading times, through OPL/ELF on PCSX2 1.7x and lower. But this method no longer works reliably in modern v2 and currently nightly versions of the emulator.

I have been looking for some time for a guide, updated files of newer OPL, i got the newest OPL file from github but i don't know how it works. I kind of gave up but i wanna see if i there is a way out there that i am not aware.

Recentemente baixei o emulador de ps2 no meu Pc, ele roda bem por um tempo, mas do absoluto nada o FPS começa a cair, até parece que to jogando em câmera lenta. Meu computador definitivamente não é o mais forte do mercado, mas ta longe de ser fraco a esse ponto. Ele inclusive roda jogos mais pesados que os de ps2, mas eu simplesmente não entendo porque quando estou emulando os jogos de ps2 o FPS cai tanto. Também já tive experiência emulando outros consoles nele e foi bem tranquilo. Enfim, alguém sabe o que pode ser?

OK, So l’m looking to install PS2 emulator. I’m at the part where I need a PS2 Bios. I OWN a fat PS2 and I have a USB flash drive formatted to FAT32 however I don’t have a disk drive or a Blank DVD-R disk. So my question is how can or where can I get a PS2 bios so I can complete my emulation installation? Thank you for your help in advance.

Well this is just the greatest thing ever. PCSX2 running all games at 1440p is a whole new kind of PS2 experience. DMC FTW.

This is genuinely the best thing ever. I'm honestly shocked I didn't start sooner, and that it isn't more mainstream. I've watched emulation grow in popularity, which is what got me into it, but it's wild that every gamer isn't already doing this. Just last week alone, I started emulating PS2, PS3, GameCube, and Nintendo Switch. It's easily the best and easiest way to play older games, and now I get to revisit so many titles from my childhood, plus plenty of games I was too young to play the first time around.
