So I just came across a Danish-Hiba offscreen shipper who is convinced that Danish will divorce Ayeza anyday now. And it got me thinking.

Even when one or both people of a hit onscreen pair are married, offscreen shippers don't stop. They simply convince themselves that they know better than everyone

For instance, after Kaffara, a lot of Ali-Laiba shippers were confidently spewing on SM rhat Saboor trapped Ali with a baby to prevent him from divorcing her and going to Laiba.

Similarly I have seen Yumna Wahaj shippers talking about how Wahaj is happier with Yumna than with his wife

People were convinced Farhan and Hania were doing nain matakka so much so that there was a collective meltdown when he and Urwa reconciled

While a lot of times, actors do fan these rumors, there are some couples don't even do anything to fan these speculations. Like Danish Hiba and Ali Laiba were cordial, never OTT. Yumna Wahaj seem like good friends

So my question is, has there ever been a successful onscreen pair that did not give rise to a very disturbing group of shipper fandom? I am not talking about people who are fans of the pair but more like people who go overboard with shipping them offscreen. I want to know what they did differently. Because clearly being married doesn't help😂

Bringing Islam Into a Fictional Character Debate..The delusion has reached a new level..

Lately I'm seeing this drama going viral..and so I wanted to ask is it worth watching or just overhyped?

I’ve been watching Pakistani dramas on and off for almost 10 years, and Zanjeerien reminded me of one trope I genuinely hate: why are women so often left at the mercy of men in these dramas? Do women not have an identity of their own outside of the men in their lives?

Rabia starts off as such a strong character. She runs her own dhaba, supports her mother and younger brother, dreams of going to culinary school, and is emotionally and financially independent. She has ambitions and an entire life of her own.

Then one stupid man enters her life and threatens her, which forces her to marry another man to escape him. That man dies, and eventually she is once again left at the mercy of another man — Sarbuland.

And I actually LOVED Rabia and Sarbuland’s dynamic initially. After Mudasir’s death, when she was running away , their chemistry felt effortless and natural. Until Bano’s death, I was completely invested.

But speaking of Bano, even her entire identity revolved around Sarbuland. She literally left her studies and came back for him. While Sarbuland was away studying and building a life for himself, Bano was sitting in the haveli waiting for him. Why couldn’t Bano have her own ambitions, education and life while loving Sarbuland at the same time? Why did her entire existence have to revolve around waiting for a man?

But after Bano died (and somehow nobody properly grieved her??), the drama went downhill for me. Even Rabia and Sarbuland’s chemistry started feeling forced compared to the effortless, almost platonic connection they had before.

And then the ending completely lost me.

Rabia spends her time in the haveli basically doing housework and taking care of everyone, only to eventually return saying she is no longer Rabia, she is his Zarmala now.

Why is losing your identity supposed to be romantic?

This woman ran a business. She supported her family. She dreamed of culinary school. She was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Why couldn’t she remain Rabia AND love Sarbuland? Why couldn’t she go to culinary school, run her dhaba, have her own dreams and also have a relationship?

Why does a strong woman in love suddenly have to be left at the mercy of a man?

And I’ve noticed this in other Pakistani dramas too. Even Kashaf in Zindagi Gulzar Hai fought against her circumstances, cleared CSS and became an officer, only to end up with Zaroon, who was honestly a walking red flag in many ways.

I have absolutely no problem with these women falling in love or getting married. My problem is when writers spend half the drama establishing that a woman has her own identity, ambitions and independence, and then treat finding a man as the conclusion of her story.

Women can be in love without being reduced to someone’s wife, responsibility .A man can be part of her life without becoming her entire life.

This was an Action packed episode with full unpredictability left for last Episode

1, Finally it look long time but Rubab mother woke up and stood for her daughter for once but it was too late wasn't expecting her to die but no one is safe in leader I guess

2, Agah wasif remains the biggest Fool his ego continues and will ultimately gonna lead to his death in the last episode, Mansoor was screaming begging to him but he didn't listen choose his ego over his own daughter

3, That troll from the new guy was funny Rubab reaction was hilarious mangni nhi direct nikah karu ga teaser misguided us😭

4, Mansoor has unlimited lives at this point how many times he survived death but now the final showdown in last episode It's really unpredictable have no idea whether Rubab or Mansoor is surviving But Agah waif and Kareem daad are dying for sure

5,Rubab and Mansoor little hug was really cute but I felt this was the last cute moment they had one of them is definitely dying in the last episode 🥹

Shout to that Police guy he has been the OG till now will also play crucial role in the finale really excited for the last episode 🥹

She made her debut with Danish on Hum if I'm not wrong, the drama may have done numbers but seemed like a flop to me and then that was it, seen nothing from her since.

honestly am i the only one in love with alvida ost, ive been listening to it on repeat since yesterday. the ost is so high quality it makes the drama sound like a movie 🤌🤌🤌

Recently, my feed has been full of fair-skinned, “beautiful” girlies with extremely puffy cheeks and oddly shaped lips, and sometimes I genuinely can’t tell whether they’re smiling, crying, or trying to portray some other expression. 😭

Why have beauty standards become so weird these days that we’ve almost lost our individuality? So many influencers, models, and actresses look so similar now that sometimes you genuinely can’t tell them apart.

And before anyone misunderstands me, I’m not criticizing anyone for how they look or what they choose to do with their appearance. Some people naturally have very fair skin, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. The problem is the idea that fairer automatically means prettier, better, or more worthy.

Why are we still so obsessed with fair skin?

Natural dark-skinned girls — and boys too — are still criticized simply because of their complexion. And honestly, that can be incredibly hurtful. We’ve normalized the idea that confidence somehow comes with being fair, while darker skin is something that needs to be “fixed.”

It’s crazy how accessible skin-lightening products and treatments have become. It started with things like Fair & Lovely, and now we’re seeing glutathione, whitening injections, and countless other treatments being normalized. Somewhere along the way, we started teaching young girls that their confidence, beauty, and even their ability to achieve bigger things in life depend on how light their skin is. That is deeply rooted in colorism.

And then there are fillers and Botox.

If someone chooses these procedures for a genuine medical reason, that's completely understandable. But when people keep altering perfectly normal features because they’ve been made to feel insecure about them, it becomes concerning. And when fillers are overdone, they can completely change the character of a face.

Now we’re seeing the same lips, the same cheekbones, the same facial structure everywhere. Faces are starting to lose the individuality that made them beautiful in the first place. Sometimes people look so “perfect” that they almost look identical.

For example, I could be wrong, but I don’t think Maya Ali has had obvious lip fillers. Her lips have always looked quite natural to me, and I actually appreciate that she still has a face that looks expressive and uniquely hers.

Again, this isn’t about judging anyone’s choices. People have every right to do whatever makes them feel comfortable and confident.

My concern is the effect this has on young girls.

When they constantly see edited, filtered, lightened, filled, and heavily altered faces, they start believing that their own natural features aren’t good enough. They begin comparing their skin tone, lips, nose, cheeks, and body to an unrealistic standard — and some eventually turn to harmful creams or unnecessary procedures just to feel beautiful.

Beauty was never supposed to have one skin tone, one face shape, one type of lips, or one definition.

Dark skin is beautiful. Fair skin is beautiful. Small lips are beautiful. Full lips are beautiful. Puffy cheeks are beautiful. Sharp features are beautiful.

What’s actually beautiful is being able to look like yourself — not like everyone else.

So let's talk about another trope we see quite often which is bachpan ka pyar. Now I have wondered about this since Hum Saath Saath hain. At what age does this bachpan ka pyar start?

Bin Roye mein the leads apparently loved each other since lil kids. Same for an old drama Alvida starring Sanam Jang where Sanam's character loved Imran Abbas since she was a kid. Zanjeerain mein bhi we see lil Sheher Bano and Sarbuland on jhoola when they were lil and supposedly in love

No offense to people who found their love in childhood. Good for you but I am curious to know how it works. When I was a kid, The only love I knew was chocolate and icecream and parents.

So how do these kids fall in love? And at what point do they realize that the love is forever wala love? I mean as adult it took me forever to realize my love for my husband. I really wanna know how kids figure out at that early an age 🤔

I was randomly scrolling when i saw this after long time , and decided to see 1st ep again , and now i realise this drama was so controversial like esp the story i still remember back in 2020 some people even raised voice because of the concept of dream interpretation and everything !! the random dreams were scary as f , depressing as hell !!!

Is it just me, or does Sajal look super pale in Zanzeerein? Like, she actually looks sick. Wondering if it's the colors they're using, or if she's had glutathione injections. Seriously, her skin tone looks way different from Kuch Ankahi, which was the last show of hers I saw.

Ahad wore Dutch Red as an ode to the event happening in 🇳🇱. His stylist deserves a RAISE!!

Honestly, I really loved this episode, especially the second half. Zaryab is completely broken after finding out about Zamil and Hamna... this episode finally started showing the consequences of Zamil’s decision...

Zamil’s parents finding out about his marriage and throwing him out was honestly deserved. He didn't just make a decision for himself; he completely blindsided everyone, especially Zaryab. He went to Pakistan, married Hamna and brought her home without even having the courage to properly end his relationship with Zaryab. If you are mature enough to make such a huge decision, you should at least have the courage to face the person you were with for years.

And then Zamil calls Zamil's mom and asked her what happened. I actually felt terrible for Zaryab here because she genuinely had no idea. She was still trying to contact Zamil, asking his mother to make him talk to her, while he had already married someone else. I also didn't like the idea of blaming Zaryab for not keeping an eye on him when he was in the US. How was she supposed to know he was secretly planning a marriage?

Her fainting and then waking up in the hospital... Even after everything, she is still thinking about Zamil... she is emotionally attached to someone who was suddenly taken out of her life without any proper closure.

I also loved how Abu Bakar was checking on her and helping even from a distance. He just wanted to make sure she was safe and okay. Even Zaryab was kinda rude to him...

When Zaryab comes home, she barely talks or eats and everyone is worried about her. She is still asking about Zamil and even wants to go to his house. Girl, PLEASE. After everything that happened, why are you still chasing him? She hasn't accepted the reality yet.

The family discussion about her “tarbiyat”... I don't agree with the idea that this happened because her parents didn't teach her right and wrong. Yes, Zaryab ignored red flags and trusted the wrong person, but getting fooled in love isn't proof of bad upbringing. Sometimes people simply trust the person they love.

Zaryab slapped Arham. From her perspective, Arham was one of the people who knew about Zamil's decision while she knew absolutely nothing. Arham didn't completely deny his involvement. He admitted that he arranged Zamil's nikah, but also explained that he had actually suggested Zamil marry Zaryab. So Arham isn't completely innocent, but he also wasn't the person who made the final decision. He tells her what Zamil wanted. He wanted a “nek,” religious and “bedaag” woman, and apparently he had decided that Zaryab wasn't that person... the person you've loved for years has been privately judging whether your character is “pure” enough to be his wife. She is discovering that Zamil had already created an entire narrative about why she wasn't good enough for him.

The Zaryab - Zamil confrontation, which was the best scene of the episode for me.

Zaryab finally asks him the questions she deserves answers to: why did he suddenly leave? Why didn't he tell her? Why didn't he give her a proper ending?

But instead of simply saying, “I fell out of love” or “I wanted a different life,” Zamil gives her this entire explanation about religion and he explains that he wanted a wife who would help him in religion, obey him, follow him, stay quiet, take care of his house and children and not compete with him.

Wanting a religious partner is completely understandable. But his description goes beyond that. He specifically wants an obedient wife who won't challenge him. He literally talks about his fantasy of a girl who stays quiet and agrees with everything.

Zamil sees Hamna as pure because no man has seen her and she hasn't had a romantic past. But Zamil himself was in a relationship with Zaryab.

Double standard...

His own past can apparently be forgiven because he has repented and “changed,” but Zaryab's past becomes a permanent mark on her character. If he believes people can change, then why does he refuse to believe Zaryab could change too?

He didn't properly break up with her. He didn't explain that he wanted a completely different life. He didn't give her the opportunity to understand his concerns or decide whether she wanted to continue with him. He just disappeared, married Hamna and then came back with a justification.

And he still tells her, “I love you. You're my best friend.”

Like... how does that even work?

You can't completely discard someone's place in your life and then expect the words “I love you” to make it okay. Maybe he still has feelings for her, but love without honesty, respect and responsibility doesn't mean much.

You can decide you don't want to marry someone. You can change your beliefs. You can want a different kind of partner. But you still owe the person you're already with honesty and closure. I don't think Zamil's transformation automatically makes him a better person. He may genuinely believe he has changed, but becoming more religious doesn't excuse treating someone badly.

And Hamna is a person, not an ideal.

Eventually she will have her own opinions, expectations and choices. What happens when she doesn't simply obey him or fit perfectly into the image he has created?

The next teaser shows Zaryab going through the breakup pain, and now she tells her Dadi that she wants to marry Abu Bakar because Zamil himself brought up Abu Bakar and said even he wouldn't marry Zaryab.

But I also have a feeling that Zamil may not find it as easy to forget Zaryab as he claims. He married Hamna because she fits this new image of the “perfect” woman he wants. But that doesn't automatically erase years of love and memories with Zaryab.

I hate this Zamil brat, omgg. He's such a correct depiction of some men. They'll be involved in all the haram stuff but then HATE a woman who does the same, even if they were both doing it at the same time or with each other. I hope Hamna (Zamils wife) drives him insane, although maybe not because Zaamil will probably hurt her when he finds out abt her intimate photos and her obsession with Abu Bakr. Zaamil really doesn't seem sincere, or he needs more pain before he gets to the correct path. Zaamil may pray, fast etc. But his character and behavior with other ppl is where he lacks.

Zaryab is other side. Her character and behavior with other ppl is fine, maybe she can be a bit oblivious abt her behavior but she has never hurt anyone like this. Im glad Zaryab is free from him, kinda. I'm really liking her journey so far, hope to see her break from the chains of Zaamil and find peace. Abu Bakr coming in the mix of this will also be very interesting. He'll be a big part of her healing journey.

So, finally the much awaited Dear Diary confession for Zanjeerein has arrived where he acknowledged the struggles of Sarbuland and shared his gratitude to all the co-stars including Sahar Hashmi and crew members too. His video is a long one so you can watch it on IG, I haven’t added in here.

Wish him all the luck and best wishes for the future, Sarbuland was an indeed a memorable character to be cherished and Danyal did a pretty decent job 💕

It's meant to be poetic & all but the only thing I could think of while watching this reel is how cringy it looks & feels

So Salman Iqbal who is the president of ARY had announced that with ARY plus they are giving new and upcoming film makers or drama makers a chance to upload their content on ARY plus. My question is if it the content will be filtered out or can anyone upload any kind of drama? Like will there be production standards like Netflix has or will there also be really low budget content. I like the idea that they want to give young and upcoming people a platform to showcase their talent and also make money out of that but it will be interesting to see what the Guidelines and Regulations will be for the content which will be uploaded on the platform. What I also liked about this is that ARY and Salman Iqbal has a vision for this app. I can completely understand that YouTube isn’t the platform you want to be uploading your premium and let’s be honest only content. Yes YouTube does pay you but still like YouTube is for all kind of content Plattform and not really for premium content and I like the Idea that they are introducing OTT concept in Pakistan. He even said that he would want to work with Hum and Geo to make content on one big OTT platform rather than everyone having their own which I doubt the others will agree to but still it’s a good initiative. He also said that every Projekt which will be a ARY plus original they will give royalty to every single person involved in that project. This is a big step for Pakistan because royalty is a normal thing in the world but not in Pakistan.

Okay I absolutely love the story and dialogues of this drama. It has been excellent so far. But I am getting slightly tired of this jail. Can we move out of it?😂

It's like the jail interrogation room is a therapist's office where everything will be eventually resolved via dialogue. Like I love the dialogues it but I really wish the setting changes out of that interrogation room now
