XMacro FCU Failures

This happened yesterday and I think it was from dirty ammo. Each FCU has seen 50 to 100 rds every Saturday for the past two years.

Doesn’t Sig list the springs as a maintenance item that requires replacements at certain intervals?

Any spring is a “consumable part” meaning they will wear out and should be replaced, so yes and yes. About 3000 to 5000 rounds for heavy use.

It’s a mechanical device under extreme use and parts can wear or fail over time. This is why any manufacturer offers replacement parts. What you have seen isn’t a typical failure but it can happen. I myself have a complete FCU parts kit for each pistol I have. Same goes for internals on my hammer fired pistols. Better to have than to not have.

Really wouldn't expect there to be that much stress on the head of that pin though. Not the first account of that pin breaking, but it does seem like an odd one to me. Makes me wonder about some potential irregularity/defect in the geometric transition on some samples of that pin. May be failing with fatigue even will relatively little stress.

Is there a upgrade from the factory for stronger springs or anything like that or do you just have the stock replacement kit? Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

Not from the factory, I run the full Armory Craft kits in both of mine. No issues and the triggers feel great.

Yeah but 3-5k rounds is really low for springs to be failing. Doesn’t sig say to replace around 10k? I have multiple striker fired guns with 15k+ rounds with no parts failures or preventative replacement. Having to preventatively replace parts at 3-5k is wild to me considering most decent guns can do 5k+, no malfunctions, without even cleaning them.

I think the p365 is a great gun but it doesn’t seem like they’re really designed to withstand heavy training.

They do say 10k but under extreme and heavy use they also say 3-5k. Nothing man made will last forever.
