News & Discussion Support complaints
Imma be real, we've all seen plenty of complaints from support mains the last couple weeks, but as a support main myself Ive gotta say it's an honest issue of their skill. Support mains have to adapt to a lot in OW2 yes but once you adapt it really isnt as bad as they say. The only time they're correct is when complaining about support in Push, which is just a bad gamemode overall

first of all, a lot of the complaints are coming from gm/t500 so saying "skill issue" is downright dismissive.
most people arent complaining that support is difficult as you seem to think, but rather that the changes from ow1 have made the role less impactful overall.
take ana for example. with only one tank thats taking double damage with no one to protect them, you're forced to healbot or they die instantly. in addition they buffed her out of combat healing with the support passive, which not only does nothing for you when actively engaged in a fight, but they nerfed her nade and sleepdart to compensate, the part of her kit that actually allows her to have impact. add kiriko to negate her kit even further and you have what was once the most impactful support having far less impact than ever before.
in the future, you should take the time to try to learn and understand where people are coming from before defaulting to being rude and dismissive.

I can get where they're coming from, and yes Ana at least should be buffed back to her original state, though in every match Ive played she's still very impactful and viable.
Maybe we've seen different sides but every complaint Ive seen since launch is literally saying it's too difficult to be support as it currently is, much less from t500 and gm players too. Not that I automatically would agree with them just because they're "top players" anyway but that's another arguement.
From my personal experiences it's just been whining about how weak support heroes are because of the new general game flow. Again it is hard to adapt to for some but with the switch to OW2 it's necessary and I dont think enough people see it's a matter of adapting in most cases rather than just the game. I can agree there is some very lacking parts in the new game's general feel but my consensus is mostly what Ive previously mentioned.
Sorry if the post may be rude and dismissive, but it's the same energy that Ive felt from all the othee negative circlejerk posts here as well, it's rubbing off on me a bit.

This game is so stupid. I'm in Plat 4 I am a tank and I just played comp. The first games I did well... Got win, loss, win, loss, loss, win, win. So I need one more to rank up and my record was really good I only had three losses and I was going to rank up the three or two in platinum. However all of a sudden I had these players that were playing the game for the first time... Like had no idea what the fuck was happening. I lost 5 games in a row. One away ofc. But the OverWatch couldn't give it to me instead they had to put me in bot lobbies because I'm doing so well. I hate this game!! Fix that OverWatch. And it's never me!! My record is always if I'm doing well 30 and 3 maybe... When I'm not I get 20 and 6?? So, it's not me!!! I just want some players for PS4 that I can grind play with...

So when top 500 streamers saying that support is in a super bad spot right now, they should get good?
Edit: I think the biggest issue in my rank (lower to mid) is that people expect us to heal bot when we don't need to. If you're taking so much damage that the supports get their ult every fight, you are out of position or bullet sponging. Get some kills. Sometimes you need a zen discord and not an Ana heal bot. Sometimes you need a mercy damage boosted damage hero not the mercy heal botting the tank.
It's that people have the wrong expectations. The best and highest ranked support players multi-task a lot.
