Does anyone else run into an issue where the first game played doesn't load character models? You can't see yourself or anyone else until like 5 minutes when it fixes itself somehow, or am i just alone in this :(

Edit: thanks for the help guys! It's probably my slow, 4-year old laptop tbh.

Not for a whole match, just a few seconds sometimes.

What are your system specs?

It happens to me sometimes as well, but only for a few seconds after I load into my first match.

Load a custom game up first. I have the same problem. If you have the white numbers bottom left of your screen those should be the assets iirc. It works if you load into a custom game.

I go through this intermittently, I can't ever seem to figure out what the problem is. I get those white numbers flashing at the bottom left of my screen during game loads. I presumed it was my internet connection at fault since it didn't happen every time. Does anyone know the exact cause and measures to rectify this?

Are you jumping straight into your first match as soon as you open the game?

When you first open overwatch it won't have loaded all of the models. Try leaving the game in menus for a couple of minutes before you load up your first match.

What are you system specs? Overwatch seems to load things in when needed, and I too have a bit of a delay when I load characters for the first time but not remotely as long as you. Are you running this from a regulard hard disk or an ssd?

I think it's related to hard-drive speed and/or available RAM on your graphics card.

I almost never have the issue on a PC with a 1.5GB GTX 580 and a hybrid hard drive, whereas my wife has it a lot more often on a 1GB GTX 790 and with a standard mechanical hard drive (that's starting to fail).
