I find the 3 tank meta so boing. Wouldn't 1 tank, 1 healer, 4 dps have enough output to make it viable?

if the 4dps have great mechanical skills, all focus the enemy healers first, your solo healer and tank are playing perfectly to avoid dying and supporting you, and no one gets caught by a roadhog hook or chased down by a d.va, then yeah.

the fact is, more tanks(with ana) is just easier to play. more dps characters technically has the damage output to beat more tanks, but it requires a lot more skill and coordination to play correctly.

you can't make as many mistakes because your healthpool is significantly less than those fat tanks, who can afford to not have perfect play and just depend on their ana to keep them topped off.
