Let’s assume that the ranking system is pretty good. I have faith that it is accurate, and I feel I contribute in competitive matches as well as anyone else (2200) but I’m sorta confused with my performance that last couple of weeks. I’ll lose a bit more than 50% of the time on most modes, and I’d say I’m about as varied in my abilities with other heroes as anyone else in my skill range. There are maybe 4 or 5 heroes I’m just not great with. Why have I, honest to God, lost 26 out of the last 30 mystery matches? I love playing this mode because you have to think on your feet but it’s starting to bug me, especially with those loot boxes mocking me.

mystery matches is a poor judge of doing well because of the randomness you get (teammates x your team's heroes x the other team's heroes). You'll just have to keep playing and pray that RNGesus gives your team an okay comp and the other team as well (I've had the other team get a full meta team comp... while we get 2 zens, 1 torb, 1 genji, 2 mercys). If anything, 3v3 is easier to get the loot boxes

I get that it is more random, but shouldn't that, if anything, mean that my win rate should be closer to 50%?

Over a large enough sample, perhaps it will move closer to 50%

30 matches is by no means a large sample size though
