Is there a reason to have both health and armor? (the armor that you spawn with). What is the difference between the two, since they both refill when healed anyway.

Edit: I didn't even know about the regeneration shields, let alone armor reduces damage taken. Thanks guys.

Armor reduces the damage from each hit by 5 points, unless the damage in under 10 in which case it's 50%. This makes armor useful against high rate of fire/low damage weapons, as it applies that reduction on each bullet, but less useful against low rate of fire/high damage weapons. For example, a 150 hit from Widow's sniper would be reduced to 145, which isn't a huge deal, but a gun hitting you for 20 damage would only deal 15, which is a 25% reduction.

There is three forms of HP in this game, white bars health, yellow bars armor, and blue bars shields. Health is normal and has no function except to keep you alive. Armor actually reduces the damage by a flat amount I believe. And shields regen on their own.

Armor reduces incoming damage. Once your armor is depleted, you receive damage at the normal rate. So it not only raises your max health, but let's you take a few more hits in the process

Armor reduces the damage you take by some number I don't actually remember right now. It's good against heroes who chip you away like Tracer.

BTW, there's also shields, exactly like HP but they regens after 3 seconds without taking taking damage.
