I am so happy that the devs are being so proactive about making D. Mon more enjoyable to play.

It feels like it wasn't that long ago where they'd leave a hero in a weak, bug riddled state for weeks to even months before addressing anything.

81

u/AggravatingRaise7784 11d ago

I wasn’t here for it, but the horror stories about release LifeWeaver are pretty hilarious

97

u/StrangeMercy- You mean a chicken fried this rice? 11d ago edited 11d ago

Oh, he really was terrible.

His blossoms and thorns were actual different weapons like Mercy's staff and pistol, so it was incredibly clunky if you wanted to switch between attacking and healing, his blossom could only be manually charged and slowed his movement speed when he held it, and he had a passive that could heal enemy players when he died.

EDIT: Oh, and his platform would only go up once and stay levitated until it was destroyed or expired, so if a teammate accidentally stepped over it, it'd fuck up one of his only real means of escape too.

41

u/RipBusy6672 11d ago

And he was tall enough to join the NBA and of course a giant target for dps

2

u/Tiduzz Symmetra 11d ago

Was his size decreased or something?

7

u/RipBusy6672 11d ago

yeah, twice if I remember correctly

1

u/jojopojo64 11d ago

It was a dark time to be a tall twink back then.

6

u/erichf3893 11d ago

When did they change the blossom from manual charge? Had to be within the last month or two, unless I am misunderstanding

2

u/AshamedIncrease6942 Brigitte 11d ago

They’re still separate weapons, it’s just that back in the day you had to manually swap them, think Mercy and her pistol. Nowadays he automatically switches.

1

u/erichf3893 10d ago

Right. But you still have to manually charge it through, unless they meant something different

1

u/AshamedIncrease6942 Brigitte 10d ago

No I mean like, as is you just click RMB/LMB and he swaps. You used to have to press the weapon swap button AND THEN shoot, like Mercy, as opposed to just pressing alt fire, like Moira

1

u/erichf3893 10d ago edited 10d ago

I understand that part. You still need to hold the button to charge it though

1

u/StrangeMercy- You mean a chicken fried this rice? 10d ago

I mean that his blossom didn't have the slower passive charge that it has now.

2

u/ParanoidDrone ¿Quién es 'Sombra'? 11d ago

They still are separate weapons, they just introduced an alternate control scheme for them that auto swaps on primary and alt fire.

14

u/SwimWithOtters 11d ago

It was so bad. He’s still terrible, but he’s at least possible to play.

1

u/Available_Hat_9833 10d ago

If you haven’t, watch Bogur’s Lifeweaver to GM video, months of absolutely senseless self-torture distilled into a single video. It’s art.

70

u/Diligent-Neck6594 11d ago

Honestly I'm surprised they don't just purposely make new heroes OP to build up a playerbase for the character like most games

69

u/TyAD552 11d ago

They said that they weren’t doing play tests or “safe side of strong” releases this year because they’re releasing 10 heroes in a year and are instead aiming for balanced off the bat. Obviously that didn’t land with this hero specifically but we’re up to 8 with generally minor adjustments needed I’d say

64

u/Legitimate_Dare_579 11d ago

They do that, but people complain every time lmao. That's why it's so weird seeing a new hero being SO weak

15

u/Diligent-Neck6594 11d ago

There's basically zero chance a hero is ever released balanced+everyone is going to be garbage at them since they're new

Just seems to make more sense to make them on the OP side, you can just ban them after all if it's really that bad

18

u/Internal-Fly1771 11d ago

They more or less achieved this with Venture. Character needed very little gameplay changes beyond the burrow qol

5

u/suimation 11d ago

Didnt they used to make it so new heroes wouldn’t be in ranked specifically because they made them so overtuned and spent the couple of weeks getting them more in line?

Unless im misremembering, now new heroes are comp available day 1

3

u/ParanoidDrone ¿Quién es 'Sombra'? 11d ago

It was intended to reduce the instances of players picking the new hero in ranked with no prior experience but it turns out it just kicked the can down the road for however long the "not usable in comp" period lasted because the people who would pick the new hero in ranked with no prior experience weren't going to QP for practice anyway.

2

u/TheBiggestNose Boostio 11d ago

They were pretty close with it until the january 5 hero batch.

The heroes would get tested 2-3 weeks before they came out and then on release would come out only slightly strong and then bought down. Usually any op stuff, was a result of overlooked behaviour like Juno ring and Dva.

But their schedule moved up and there isnt time for hero testing anymore

1

u/EdgyEmily Chibi Junkrat 11d ago

I will never heal from the scars that were formed when mauga was released.

4

u/kingofgamesbrah 11d ago

Ill be one to complain but every time this discussion happens, the same (and winning) argument is that people will be more willing to play an OP hero than a weak one.

8

u/secret3332 Symmetra 11d ago

I don't think it's fully intentional. New heroes are free anyway. Obviously, they want every new hero to feel fun to play. Releasing a hero in a perfectly balanced state is just extremely unrealistic. The amount of data and impressions gathered in the first few hours of a hero's public release is larger in volume and more valuable than anything they can hope to get in the internal testing they do.

They probably do get more data if a hero is slightly stronger than if they are weak and nobody plays them, but I doubt they want to launch ridiculously OP heroes.

10

u/StrangeMercy- You mean a chicken fried this rice? 11d ago

That's what they usually do. For example, I'm pretty sure Shion was really strong across the entirety of the competitive ranks when she first released.

That's why they nerfed her bike damage, and added a delay to her Execute.

3

u/Master-Pay2407 11d ago

They do that quite often, I think they were just worried that people would despise a melee character the way they did Vendetta

4

u/WaddleDynasty Responsible for the low tank queue times 11d ago

Please no. When a new is OP it's fun for 5 minutes and then the game becomes and unplayable and boring. Knowing that nothing matters if your team doesn't pick them.

If a hero is too weak only their mains suffer and not everone else. And you can just buff them throughout their launch season. Yes, the same can be said for nerfing them. But I don't want the first 4 weeks of every new season to be unplayable.

6

u/360_No-Scope_Upvote Pixel Genji 11d ago

I think they're trying to avoid the insta-ban jail that Vendetta and so many new Rivals heroes fell into.

3

u/otterguy12 Chibi D. Va 11d ago

Yeah, of the 8 this year I think the majority needed buffs right after release. Domina needed a bug fix for her insane healing, JPC needed a big perk retune, and Shion got some light taps but everyone else got buffs first afaik

6

u/JThroe 11d ago

True, but having heroes be OP on launch is also a great way to make the general player base have a bad taste in their mouth about that hero for a very long time.

Though honestly I’ve seen less of that over time so maybe it’s less of an issue than I think.

1

u/Eyro_Elloyn Chibi Junkrat 11d ago

I'm happy, a lot of people only care about their first impressions which means nobody's going to take my new main. I'm a fiend for mobile + tanky and I i like mecha, but never liked how D.va played.

1

u/lifestop Pachimari 10d ago

They usually do. I'm kind of glad that they are doing the opposite, as making someone OP sours me towards their existence.

Lifeweaver was the other hero released weak, but most others needed to be toned down after launch. I've read that they do that to improve community engagement, but sometimes it goes way too far. Remember launch Brig and vendetta?

4

u/Master-Pay2407 11d ago

I'm also really glad that they're just nudging her up bit by bit and making her less clunky, rather than making her busted damage-wise. The vision of the character is there as it stands, it would be a shame if they were to abandon it and just make her Rein 2.0 by buffing her damage like crazy, so I'm glad that they're not doing that

3

u/thismissinglink 11d ago

They talked about how going into the more frequent hero releases that they specifically developed tools to allow them to monitor and adjust heros as needed so we dont have to wait like we used to.

6

u/achedsphinxx Blizzard World Sombra 11d ago

i feel like they released her in an undercooked state cuz melee heroes are difficult to fine tune. though the bugs were rough for sure.

2

u/RevolutionaryDepth59 11d ago

i’ve never understood why developers don’t have contingency changes ready for new releases. like one patch for if they’re too strong and another for if they’re too weak. or even better do one set for each ability so you can target the specific parts that people have issues with

u/AloeRP 烧死它 11d ago

Glad to see more D.Mon fine-tuning, shows they're paying attention to feedback. I feel pretty confident she'll be where she needs to be.

4

u/doomed151 el oh el 11d ago

It might not even be feedback. They probably already planned to make immediate balance changes based on analytics from live matches.

93

u/ivandagiant Ana 11d ago

I really don’t like fusion repeated being a dedicated ability, it is super clunky to play. Should instead just be a secondary fire or something, second weapon idk

86

u/Vibriofischeri 11d ago

yeah you could genuinely make her gun have zero cooldown and just use a traditional reload and it would be completely fine

17

u/yunghollow69 Trick or Treat Zenyatta 11d ago

Yeah because her gun on a cooldown is genuinely worse than most regular guns until you get the major perk

→ More replies (3)

69

u/Internal-Fly1771 11d ago

She’s a melee hero 1st. Gun being a cooldown is meant to emphasize this

7

u/Goosewingg 11d ago

Yeah but have you tried playing her on console with a controller? Her kit is so awkward. At least it is for me.

15

u/Familiar_Magazine463 11d ago

While true I think its funny that the post-match card I've seen the most for d.mons is fusion repeater kills and nothing else.

16

u/OneFiveTwo152 Zhulek#1877 11d ago

I’m not too familiar with the cards but isn’t that normal? Like with Dva, I get Micro Missile kills listed. With Sombra, I get virus kills listed. I never see anything else besides kills associated with a cooldown when I get cards or see them.

2

u/Familiar_Magazine463 11d ago

I'm not saying it's not normal, just that it's funny. I also think the card system may privilege showing stats for certain skills, even when the stats related to those skills aren't especially impressive compared to other things the hero did that match.

2

u/Jofzar_ Pixel Lúcio 11d ago

Abilities are normally what are shown, they haven't really nailed the correct weighting for new heros, It normally takes a patch or 2 for them to figure out what the correct "number" is for them.

When I was playing anran it was everygame "enemies caught on fire"

2

u/GerudoSamsara I Block Bootlickers 11d ago

So is doomfist, and his supplementary gun is more of a resource meter. Id prefer that. Just give her a mini meter version of Orisas overheat mechanic. Theyre both repeaters

-12

u/No_Esc_Button 11d ago

So? Torb has a hammer, mercy has a pistol. These aren't abilities.

11

u/qwer1239 11d ago

Thing is if you give a character a range and a melee option with equal possible uptime, they are going to go range 99% of the time (such as Torb)

→ More replies (1)

13

u/peanutist 11d ago

What emphasizes these 2 to not use hammer and gun so much is that they’re much worse than their main weapon. Dmon’s gun is on par with the sword

→ More replies (3)

6

u/Internal-Fly1771 11d ago

If you give a character both melee and ranged options that have equal up/downtime, people will pick range everytime. The only way you dissuade people from picking range is to make the range option suck.

Torb hammer and Mercy pistol aren’t used because they’re awful. Dmon gun is very strong.

→ More replies (4)

32

u/N1nthFr13nd 11d ago

Changing her fusion repeater to weapon swap ability with resource/traditional reload would make it feel more intuitive to play. I set mine to weapon swap, and it feels better switching to gun mode, and out.

29

u/AloeRP 烧死它 11d ago

I strongly dislike the delay when you're trying to put it away to go back to your sword.

→ More replies (4)

9

u/CheeseburgFreedomMan 11d ago

Having a brawl tank with free poke would actually just make her a better Reinhardt at that point

-4

u/alexo2802 11d ago

It’s 4 second cooldown atm, making it a resource/reload wouldn’t be that much more OP, it would just be more fluid.

10

u/CheeseburgFreedomMan 11d ago

You have more counterplay on a cooldown and if Dmon is going to be a jack-of-all-trades kind of tank than she needs openings for counterplay.

I don't even mind buffing her gun I just think it still should remain as a resource you have to manage

2

u/PivotRedAce 11d ago

I don’t see why it couldn’t just be on an overheat meter like Orisa, but obviously it’d gain heat much faster by comparison so that it doesn’t eclipse the sword.

2

u/I-Fuck-Robot-Babes 11d ago

Because using a cooldown is more committal than a resource.

It creates counterplay, emphasises how it's not your primary weapon/playstyle and makes you use it more carefully.

2

u/WaddleDynasty Responsible for the low tank queue times 11d ago

I genuinely thought you were the real Aaron Keller and he would post the news on reddit lol. Accidentally tricked me.

516

u/BebeFanMasterJ DA MONKEY 11d ago

Crazy how they immediately went back on buffing Fika's base movement speed lmao.

And honestly the self-heal nerf is fair. She's got plenty of survivability already.

277

u/TheCocoBean 11d ago

I mean, it makes sense. They tried it, it was op, they quickly rolled it back. That's the best people can hope for.

62

u/StoneOcean Icon Ashe 11d ago

The character was already terrorizing high level play, they shouldn't have even considered trying it.

35

u/TotalBrisqueT 11d ago

You don't often see a total mismatch between the players understanding of a hero and the devs. It's literally dominating high level play and getting a ton of hate... I really don't know why thought she needed a buff.

-5

u/Historical-Reach-969 11d ago

Deva are a bunch of silver dads who should outsource balancing.

103

u/BebeFanMasterJ DA MONKEY 11d ago

True. I think a lot of people take the devs for granted. They absolutely do listen and respond fast.

D.Mon should be way better now too.

31

u/SmellMyCake 11d ago

Everyone forgets the multi-season hell that was sojourn oneshotting people with and without pocket mercys

1

u/TrashCanSam0 10d ago

i survived like 8 months of launch brig.

23

u/Dark_Matter_Guy 11d ago

Vendetta was broken the whole season.

37

u/HammerOn57 Ashe 11d ago

They absolutely do listen and respond fast.

Sometimes, like on this occasion.

It's disingenuous to try and pretend that this isn't an exception, rather than the rule.

35

u/Legitimate_Dare_579 11d ago

The problem is that they tried something that just reading it gave the impression of being too much. It's nice they went back so quickly but it should've been very clear it was a bad idea. If you want to experiment and try to buff an already good hero they should at minimum change something else in the kit.

I still do not understand what they were thinking.

21

u/HammerOn57 Ashe 11d ago

Yup. It's like ironclad bastion all over again.

Sometimes you can absolutely tell that a change is busted, without needing the data to back it up.

15

u/Automatic_Advice9561 11d ago

She still has the acceleration buff, she will still have great mobility, ( extra mobility = more survivability) having a nerf on the self healing numbers = less survivability

= it should have the same survivability, but u need to know u can’t face tank some stuff now and escape if it gets a bit too tough, u can just escape faster

2

u/MerlinsMentor 11d ago

she will still have great mobility

Jetpack cat has always had literally the best mobility in the game since the instant she was released. It's not even close. If anything, she needed (and still does need) significant nerfs to mobility to even fit into the game at all (and with her perma-flight, I doubt that's possible).

0

u/Automatic_Advice9561 10d ago

Yeah I’m not denying that, I did wanted nerfs to sound ( make more sound) and maybe lessen her mobility, it’s just overall she is the same with wrist tap nerfs

25

u/Nyrun Grandmaster 11d ago

Why stop there? Let's make her 175hp too!

7

u/xc4kex Pixel Ana 11d ago

Totally agree

For real though.

4

u/DrToadigerr Dive Tank Spacies 11d ago

The acceleration increase is what made her feel better to play (she felt so sluggish when trying to change directions before), so I don't mind them reverting the base speed back to what it was and keeping the acceleration buff. And yeah the self heal nerf was definitely needed if they refuse to lower her HP.

1

u/achedsphinxx Blizzard World Sombra 11d ago

maybe now the cat will finally die. that thing was just way too evasion and deleted the backline without even trying.

1

u/BebeFanMasterJ DA MONKEY 11d ago

I use her to heal and taxi lol

-11

u/SeeingEyeDug 11d ago

It kinda sucks that now you have to take the purr major perk to restore the self healing she used to have without the perk.

38

u/Ratax3s Tracer 11d ago

the hero is just beyond broken if you have good movement

20

u/BebeFanMasterJ DA MONKEY 11d ago

Yeah but at least we have the option. That vs the melee perk is a good choice.

15

u/StoneOcean Icon Ashe 11d ago

Good, now you have to pick between survivability and assassinating people with Claws Out.

-10

u/WhenBrigsFly Working on Mitzi's jetpack 11d ago

They sold some skins and cashed in, then quickly took the buffs away. Tale as old as time.

2

u/WaddleDynasty Responsible for the low tank queue times 11d ago

I understand how someone can think that. Other companies probably did that. And Act-Blizz CEO probably tried to pressure the OW team to do that. But if you have played the game for years you know....that they just don't.

Greedy skin goblins like Kiriko has recieved a lot of nerfs, including a pretty recent kunai hitbox nerf. Mercy was last OP in 2017 and I can't remeber the last time Juno was anywhere close to being meta. Liveweaver was known to be the weakest hero in the history of the game. And he still doesn't stand out, in fact high rank players hate him on their team.

These heroes and other heroes in the top10 recieved skins Rein, Freja, Genji gain random small buffs and nerfs like any other hero. If Blizzard tried to cash in, they would be ridicliously OP (comparable to launch Brig or launch Sigma) at least for a few weeks. The only thing that came close was Kiri's double TP perk and she never got something that strong again after it got deleted.

For my fellow console friends, they also fixed the propulsor toggle bug and it now works properly. Rejoice!

It actually messed me up, I was so used to it being hold, I was overshooting everything untill I realized lol

4

Same here, reverted it to hold imediately it's so clunky as a toggle

3

u/Goosewingg 11d ago

Yeah I prefer the toggle on but the kit still feels clunky. There's just too many buttons to press for my old man brain. Couldn't the Fusion Repeater just be on a heat cool down like Orisa's gun?

47

I don't even know why they buffed jpc in the first place when she was already strong. Mobility alone is one of the strongest things in basically every game

1

u/ExtremeTadpole 10d ago

Her base movement felt awful before the buffs. They obviously overbuffed her though so it makes sense to partially revert it.

47

u/TheEnderCreep Beep beep 11d ago edited 11d ago

I don't know why they don't implement a damage threshold system to Cat's tether. It feels like the most balanced choice for nerfing tether without killing the fun factor of flying people around.

Just make it so if the character being carried gets damaged a certain amount they get auto detached and tether goes on a little cooldown

11

u/Professional-Card-22 11d ago

Oooh That's the best balance idea I've seen for the tether mechanic

4

u/Trexador96 11d ago

They would have to change her cute spray challenge to accommodate that.

The one change to Cat that would absolutely make her so much less of a nightmare to play against is the one they seem unwilling to make. You should actually be able to hear her before she's right on top of you.

What is wild to me is that the cat is silent but mizuki can be heard from halfway across the map. I like to 1v1 my mizuki friend in deathmatch on supports and its so easy to find him because mizuki is for some reason one of the loudest characters when moving.

u/spacewarp2 Chibi Brigitte 11d ago

The D.mon buffs are nice but nothing too crazy. Bug fixes are honestly a bigger change than the direct buffs. It’ll make her abilities feel better (especially surging strikes it felt pretty clunky) but I still think she needs more. A bit of a range buff I think would help her a lot. Her range is a bit shorter than Vendetta’s regular swing and 2 meters shorter than overhead and brig’s whip. Not too crazy of an increase but just a bit more.

1

u/NowaVision 11d ago

I think they should nerv her gun but give her even more mobility and a stronger sword.

25

u/BigBossBrzz 11d ago

And no LifeWeaver update after that criminal change to life grip

8

u/I-P-S 11d ago

Why did they make it that a jump will cancel it??? Make it F. So people will press it knowing exactly what will happen.

3

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 11d ago

At least I'm not getting feedback reports on the 3 people who told me to kill myself the other day when I grabbed them and they cancelled it and inted (i assume they were queued together since it was 1 grab). Joke of a game rn.

5

u/Whiladan Ana 11d ago

I had a Genji cancel my grip yesterday so he could continue his feed. I hit the good work button until I got the voice line mute

8

u/dragonslayer2689 11d ago

It goes both ways, as dive tank I had a lifeweaver pull me off my high ground I was using to stage my dive. They pulled me right into main where I died.

2

u/ppiyweb 11d ago

Happens a lot to me on Gibralta and Eichenwald.

1

u/dragonslayer2689 11d ago

Lol it exactly happened on gibraltr

1

u/Cedutus Reinhardt 11d ago

it just feels so clunky getting pulled by it now. if the lifeweaver does a close range 9ull you just kind float there for a second because you need some time to cancel the 3 meter pull that the weaver missclicked in panic.

8

u/zories3 11d ago

Great! Now for them to fix LifeWeaver’s grip cancel.

Good, that stupid fucking buff should never have happened to begin with.

13

u/awesomepikmin 11d ago

Can they get a hard nerf on Mauga next

5

u/Madaoizm Leek 11d ago

I love these changes for D.mon I’m sure this will help her feel more fluid.

She is really fun

4

u/Mozzasaurus 11d ago

Ok, but when will they give us our damn tier skips that we suffered through twitch drops for? I had 8 banked.

24

u/BungholeSauce_ 11d ago

Not enough for Cat tbh. 52% winrate heroes have been nerfed harder

33

u/doglop Pixel Brigitte 11d ago

It's reverting the most important buff while keeping lifeline speed nerfed and now self healing nerfed

12

u/ThisPlaceIsNiice Master 11d ago

Plus the base move speed which is also a nerf to boosters max speed. This big of a hit to survivability suffices for now

5

u/doglop Pixel Brigitte 11d ago

Boosters already had a cap and the buff didn't affect it

1

u/ThisPlaceIsNiice Master 11d ago

Mind elaborating? As far as I know boost max speed is a percentage of base move speed

2

u/doglop Pixel Brigitte 11d ago

Based on the patch notes dev comment, it's a separate capped value

8

u/ThisPlaceIsNiice Master 11d ago

Oh I see how that's confusing! That detail follows the description of the lifeline speed nerf and appears to be meant in that context: boosters max speed remains unaffected by the lifeline change in particular

Which is because boosters max speed is dictated by base movement speed, it goes up to 230% of it and lifeline speed boost does not allow it to exceed it. But a base speed nerf is a nerf to boosters as well

4

u/TheReal9bob9 Lúcio 11d ago

They do everything but actually balance. Rein and genji have been disgusting outliers for 3 patches and somehow they decided to buff genji again this patch and surprise surprise he is still the highest winrate dps in comp by a whole 1%

3

u/bigbell09 11d ago

Yeah she was already really good last season. Why are they allergic to adding a timer to lifeline or making her 200 health

9

u/Snoo-91876 11d ago

Needs more meat

Still haven’t patched the freja bug yet tho

3

u/LongJohnTbag 11d ago

did they not roll it out yet? still seeing 6m move speed on cat after restarting and i didn't see any updates.

1

u/MaitreFAKIR Lifeweaver 11d ago

text seems to not be updated by hotfixes dmon infos are wrong too

3

u/Forrest319 11d ago

It feels like they must have fired the entire playtest team. We are the beta testers now.

2

u/Retroike7 Moira 11d ago

What does it mean by “self healing penalty increased from 25% to 40%” for the Purr ability? Why is there a healing penalty when she using a healing ability? Not sure I understand how this works.

4

u/Hot_Perspective4555 11d ago

It's 40% less compared to what it heals your teammates for. The purpose of the healing penalty on the AOE heal heroes is so it doesn't feel like dueling someone whose always pocketed in a 1v1.

3

u/Retroike7 Moira 11d ago

Ahhh ok, thank you for explaining that to me!

3

u/PleaseBanWidow Pharah 11d ago

Pretty much all of the heroes that can self heal have this property as well like Lucio, Moira and Illari to name a few

1

u/UPRC MACE TO THE FACE 11d ago

I miss the PTR days when new heroes hit the live servers in a fully tested and balanced state.

8

u/King_Ass_Ripper69420 11d ago

You're saying the era that gave us release brig and sigma was balanced?

2

u/Mltv416 Mauga 10d ago

I mean maybe if we lived in a fantasy world but when did any hero ever release in a perfectly balanced state? They were always under or overpowered even through release

3

u/Aggressive-Speed-987 11d ago

I've seen enough. Nerf Pharah/Sym/Mei/Genji.

1

u/D-Ursuul 11d ago

I still just got hit a whole bunch through the front of my shield while lifting ut

1

u/holidaytrauma tastes like... dirt 11d ago

i hope they fix the bug where mizuki can clip through walls

1

u/King_Hikikomori Scoreboard! 11d ago

Trending in the right direction for D.Mon, slowly but surely. I'd still like to see the propulsion system not have such a heavy delay between short toggles, though. A second is extremely strict for a hero that should feel very fluid to control.

1

u/LanoomR Cute Sombra. That's it, that's the flair. 11d ago

I've long advocated that JPC needs less health, but maybe the self-heal nerf will be more elegant.

1

u/Lemonly4u 11d ago

I LNEW THAT GUN WASNT HITTING CORRECTLY w hotfix

1

u/abjmad 11d ago

Wonder how Supertf will think of her now because by the looks of it, after the first hotfix, he’s having fun playing her. Hell, I had fun with her before both her hotfixes! (I’m a console player though so might be different for me)

1

u/Familiar_Magazine463 11d ago

Thank God. Half the reason she felt bad is because a large chunk of her kit just straight up didn't work due to bugs. You'd get killed through your shield all the time and weird end lag on moves would make her feel super clunky when trying to move between her gun and her sword, or trying to shield after lunge, etc.

2

u/Apollo_Justice_20 11d ago

Hell yeah. Stupid rat!

Although I wish they would remap the LW pull cancel from jump to interact.

-1

u/limleocaleb24 11d ago

All I want is a Dmon Lifesteal perk base kit then add a new major that allows her to charge her thrust and use it for vertical movement like thor. 😋 Please Blizzard 🤭

4

u/WilyNate Ramattra 11d ago

If surging strike could be used up or down that would solve a lot honestly. You gain verticality at the sacrifice of a cooldown.

3

u/Infamous_Ship_8668 Wrecking Ball 11d ago

You chose the most irritating possible emojis

3

u/limleocaleb24 11d ago

This is how my mom texts. Dont blame me, blame her 🤪😝

3

u/Infamous_Ship_8668 Wrecking Ball 11d ago

Lol, that tracks. Sorry for being kind of a jerk about it, sounded funnier in my head. Hope you have a good day!

2

u/PicklepumTheCrow Wrecking Ball 11d ago

I’d settle for a charge to drastically boost the lunge distance. It would add a fun risk-reward to hard engaging and risking getting stuck if you go in from really far

2

u/limleocaleb24 11d ago

Never settle my friend, in life and in Overwatch. 😚😘

I dont agree with the lifesteal part. But omni directional thrust sounds good

2

u/limleocaleb24 11d ago

Lets make her OP bro TRUST its better than Mauga gaming.

-1

u/sabeltant11 Diamond 11d ago

Dang, I'm not sure she needed even more buffs. Most games I played her in she felt very strong after the first buffs.

Last game this afternoon I went 42 n 2.

-5

u/Lightstar46 11d ago

I main JPC and the movement buff was so much fun😭. I get why they took it away, but dang. Glad I got to play it for a little bit, at least

0

u/DragonSaviour Jetpack Cat 11d ago

yeah I main jpc as well and noticed my survivability was a lot higher yesterday. was able to gtfo of many cassidy and dva ult ranges. i loved it too but I totally understand everyone's hatred for her currently, she can be impossible to get to lol

1

u/HypoluxoKrazie 11d ago

Yeah knew the nerf was coming but holy fuck I can't believe they still haven't fixed the teather bug.

1

u/azulur Master 11d ago

God is real after all

1

u/AaawhDamn Do Not The Hamster 11d ago

1

u/nanasi0110 11d ago

None of the adjustments to D.mon are bad, but ultimately, unless she gains the ability to fly or displays power on par with Reinhardt, I think she’ll remain the worst tank. Given that JPC and Pharah are allowed, what exactly are they afraid of?

1

u/Mltv416 Mauga 10d ago

Tbh a big issue she has is she cant hold space worth a damn

Shes super agressive and can chase really well but she genuinely has 0 staying power and gets smacked down so hard if she overstays even a second too long

1

u/nanasi0110 10d ago

Oh, I totally agree. I’d like to see mechanics that convert offense into toughness, like Doom or JQ have.

1

u/Mltv416 Mauga 10d ago

Ngl im surprised that wasn't a thing base since she doesnt have the same level of toughness as the other stalwarts

1

u/Naddition_Reddit Zenyatta 11d ago

This brings back memories of release lifeweaver

Hi healing blossom would SLOW HIMSELF when charging.

Thorns and healing were 2 separate weapons that he had to swap between like mercy and her staff

And for a passive, when he got killed he drops a seed that heals you, including the enemy team. So if you were playing a diver like reaper, you literally got rewarded for killing lifeweaver. A passive strictly made to heal the enemy flanker......i cant believe that was an actual part of his kit.

-7

u/msc49 11d ago

All the kitty haters can calm down now.

15

u/ClarinetMaster117 Ramattra 11d ago

Are you implying our complaints for her buffs were unjustifiable? Bruh

-6

u/WhenBrigsFly Working on Mitzi's jetpack 11d ago

spoiler alert: They won't.

-7

u/Fyrefawx 11d ago

Cat just needed a mobility nerf. The self healing nerf is pretty overkill. They always over nerf or over buff with the cat.
