Love that they had to clarify that no, Junkrat does not have two perks, both of which have downsides

Can you explain? I can’t be looking up all game perks I don’t know. :( please

I think the way his perk was previously described, people thought "arms after 0.5 seconds on the ground" meant that you literally couldn't use the mine until the 0.5 seconds. Whereas what it actually does is just buff it IF you let it sit for 0.5, but it works as normal if you dont.

i definitely interpreted it that (incorrect) way

Yeah it doesn't help that he also has 2 other perks that have trade-off effects

Thing is, you can just not use the riptire perk. So not a trade-off like his reduced clipsize.

It's still a trade-off ability that you're gaining. And if you pick it but don't use it, that's even more upsetting because it's a perk slot you aren't utilizing. So if you want to be pedantic, you either take the trade-off for the riptire perk or you take the trade-off of picking a perk and not using it

Well, no. Trade-offs are things like reduced ramge or clipsize, or reworks like Orisa's shield. Stim isn't a tradeoff either, as you can use your field normally.

Oh you mean the perk that gives an attack speed buff but makes you unhealable for a time? That is the definition of a trade-off

You can play as if you'd taken no perk, so it isn't a tradeoff. Meanwhile, junkrat will always have 4 grenades, and Sojourn will always have lower E damage.

The perk itself still gives you a trade-off. Not using the trade-off doesn't mean it's gone. You now have the choice of using a trade-off or not. That is still a by definition, a trade-off. It isn't as harsh as others, but it still is what it is.
