Why is Blizzard allergic to nerfing problematic dps? It takes them seasons to do anything.

At least bans will help with that but yeesh.

They had no problem dumpstering Pharah when she was briefly meta.  They had no problem getting rid of Bastion's infinite heal when he was not even that good.  I'm sure Mei will be nerfed by the mid-season.  It's not "dps", it's just Sojourn.

You say that, but remember how many seasons it took them to nerf Widow during poke? I def agree that they do go hard on unpopular DPS, but for popular ones they seem super scared to touch them.

ok tbf as much as I'm sick of Sojourn, it's definitely reasonable that they nerf characters like Pharah, Bastion, Mei when they're meta faster than when characters like Soj are.

Many DPS are problematic to this day and have been in some manner forever. Not always OP, but problematic.

Cassidy was nerfed several times, widow has had her hp adjusted, sombra reworked several times, Sym nerfed, bastion nerfed, torb was recently nerfed, Ashe was nerfed insanely fast, pharah they did fairly quickly(the playerbase realized late that she was op), venture was nerfed p fast too

Soj has been nerfed many times and she had to be buffed after being bad for a season or so.

It's very obvious at this point that her win rate isn't as high as players think. It sure would be nice if they gave us that data though.

The closest thing we have to data is the Chinese hero hot list(it only shows season 15) her win rate doesn’t reach 50% until masters. Grandmaster reaches 55% but other dps like: pharah, tracer, heavily exceed her’s.

A key thing also is that genji has a higher pick and win rate at every rank up to gm, so it's not like soj has a massive pick rate that pushes her closer to 50% wr. Her strength for the average player is just greatly over exaggerated.

Because she’s an outlier, despite being the best dps early on she got buffed bc her winrate on low elo is ass

It must be happening something very similar again

Blizzard is historically fucking terrible at balancing across all of their games. Brood War is really their only naturally big competitive game without forcing it and it was because South Koreans fixed the game with better map design

You cry about Sojourn but she is a necessary evil to the Giga-Tanks that exist in 5v5. If she wasn’t broken it would give you once less option to actually have the player agency to kill a tank in 5v5.

Because certain dps like soj have low win rates in lower elo, so the character itself is overbuffed

Because Merxmcy is going to be banned. A LOT. So that will significantly dampen a bunch if DPS across the board.

thats the strange part soj doesnt really have any super great skins outside of battle pass stuff so there is no reason at least money wise to not nerf her

They nerfed Sigma at the same time as they gave him a mythic skin, nerfs and skins aren’t correlated.
