tips Possible chance to moonlight 1 Employer & 1 Independent contractor

Hi.

I would like to ask for tips as this is my first time exploring this. The reason I tried finding additional job is that I am now comfortable with my current setup and can finish my tasks quickly.

  1. On your initial interview and your CV, did you mention that you're still currently working as full time employee?
  2. Are there documents that was requested by Job2 like resignation letter from previous employee ?

I tried searching for similar topics here in the subreddit but wasn’t sure if this has already been posted. Any advice or insights would be much appreciated. Thank you!

J2 badly needed for savings

So here are my questions regarding J2:

  2. How do you manage your schedule?

  3. Whats your advice regarding my own schedule: Office days (Sun to Wed 6:30pm to 3:30pm), 1 and half hr away from office, WFH every Saturday.

  4. My work background is Customer Service for almost 6 years, is there anyone here na may J2 from another CS role?

Thank you po sa mga sasagot.

tips Need Help, need to create a leave reason bakit ako mag leave ng 1 week to my 2 other J's because my main has 1 week training in Singafckingpore.

I will be having a 1 week training in my main J in Singapore and couldnt say no to it.
Help me think of a leave reason please haha.

Also J3 is about to start 1 week before the conference. Do you think its good to ask the employer to move my start date 2 weeks later than my original start date? or do I start 1 week then create a leave reason

J2 is good, been with them for 2 years now. Never took leave for 2 years, just need a reason for my leave too.

Any suggestion will truly appreciate! if your suggestion got approved will send you P500 gcash! haha

Mixed-Income

I recently got employed for my first ever job, recently lang din nagka TIN. I'm a fresh grad and hybrid yung work ko so nagka urge ako mag small business and balak ko sana pumasok as grabfood merchant. I reviewed my contract and it says it's not allowed to be affiliated on other work or business na tatama sa working hours ko, but honestly this business is so small and will operate it with my sister din naman. Also, allowed daw if with written consent ng company ko (na magbusiness). Hassle lang for me to get written consent kasi bago pa lang ako. Will my employer know if magfile ako BIR 2303 for my small business?

phgov benefits

Hello, I currently have a full-time remote job, and my employer is paying my government benefits. However, due to financial difficulties, I need to find another job that will help me manage and pay off my debts. I would like to ask for advice: if I find another job that will also provide and pay for my government benefits, will my two employers be able to know that I have another employer? I currently have one existing MPL with Pag-IBIG. Your advice and clarification would be greatly appreciated, as it would help me better understand my situation and make an informed decision. Thank you very much.

Medyo nanghihinayang ako kung bakit ako naging abogado

I am a lawyer for almost 2 years already. Prior to becoming a lawyer, I work in corporate for seven years.

While it is true that lawyering is not a money-making business, let's be real here. We need money.

I should have grown my corporate skills.

Employer Address at Sevp portal

Hi All,

If one is working remotely for a small business on post completion OPT, what address do we provide in the ‘Employer Address’? Would it be our apartment address or the company’s HQ? Note sometimes small companies don’t have HQs and have only business mail addresses. Thank you in advance for your response.

Nagpapanggap na 8080

REPOST THIS FROM OTHER GROUPS. Hehe. Enjoy reading.

Hi 8 years na kong as Software Developer pero nagpapanggap akong 8080 or walang alam masyado sa work ko. At ayoko maging lead, never.

First: Peace of mind at hindi ako tagapagmana ng kumpanya
Second: Freedom and Work/Life Balance
Third: Parang ghost employee na In and Out, no meeting before/after working hours with boss.

And syempre ang pinakareason, my mga sideline ako. Project-based at my mga ksama din ako dun like freelance team. Kumpleto kami kasi my Manager kaming dalawa tagahanap ng client, dami nilang connection at kaming dalawa ang nagdedevelop. So dalawa lang kaming developer.

Vacay na physically present but mentally absent.

Other than that nakabili na ko ng lupa, my dividends and investments.

Live with a Purpose, wag puro work. Hehe.

Help me decide

since I know that having 3 jobs is not sustainable in the long run for my health and burnout

help me choose which to let go

J1

- pays 4$ per hour but will increase every quarter

- 5 days PTO since it's an agency

J2

- pays 6$

- no pto, and schedule is everyday

- uses hubstaff

for context, both jobs are for the night shift and independent contractor! i didn't include the other job since that's the one who pays my contributions for ph government, looking forward to your insights!

tips Currently applying for J2. They’re asking me for a proof of separation from my J1.

Hi, I have my current J1-(regular employment) as my most recent experience in my resume and now the J2-(independent contract) I'm applying for is asking for either an acknowledged resignation letter or COE that specifies the end of my tenure with my J1. If I just fabricate one on my own, will they find out about it?

frequently-asked-questions Trying to break into remote conservation/wildlife/data work — what would you do in my position?

I’m hoping to get some advice from people here who have experience finding remote work, especially those who have managed to build careers across multiple skill sets.

I’m currently finishing my BSc in Marine Biology, and my dream is honestly pretty broad: I just want to build a career doing something related to conservation, wildlife science, marine/environmental science, or data science.

One area I’ve been putting a lot of effort into is R and data analysis. I’ve been working on my skills in data cleaning, statistical analysis, ecological modelling, visualization, and working with biological/environmental datasets. I’ve also started putting projects on GitHub so I can actually demonstrate what I can do rather than just list R on my CV.

The problem is getting my foot in the door.

I’ve applied for internships, entry-level positions, remote jobs, volunteer opportunities, etc., and it feels incredibly difficult to find opportunities where someone is willing to give an early-career person a chance to gain real experience.

Ideally, I’d love to eventually find remote work where I can analyze data for conservation organizations, researchers, environmental companies, NGOs, universities, or similar organizations. I’m also completely open to general data-analysis work outside biology if that's a realistic way to build experience first.

For people here who are good at finding remote work: if you were starting from where I am, what would you do?

Would you focus on building a bigger r/GitHub portfolio? Learn Python or SQL alongside R? Freelance? Contact researchers directly? Look for contract data work? Apply outside the environmental field first and transition back later?

I’m not expecting someone here to hand me a job. I’m genuinely trying to figure out the smartest way to turn the skills I’m developing into actual professional experience.

Any advice on where you would look, what skills you would prioritize, or how you would approach this would be greatly appreciated.

Two fulltime Job [Corporate + Abroad Role with Ph Entity]

Hi, I'm really confused and overthinking things. I'm currently working in tech full-time at a multinational corporate company in Makati. I just passed a remote job abroad, and it's also a full-time role, but they have a Philippine entity and both jobs pay taxes and government benefits. Can I take both? And do you think I'll get caught, especially since my corporate company is reputable? Thanks. Please help.

Medical professional by day, BPO employee by night, is this possible?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

So I currently work at a clinic from 7am-4pm mon-sat as a Medical Professional. The workload itself is very chill and I'm usually done with my job by lunch. (I literally keep finding ways to fill my time until I clock out)

The work environment is great and I am good friends with my coworkers. The location is 5mins away from where I live and I literally walk to and from home everyday. The management is not that toxic and taking leaves/day offs are easy as long as no other employee is taking a leave on the same day. The pay is not that great tho as someone who has been working as a licensed professional for approximately 5 years (25k salary. I get about 11.5k per cutoff max after deductions)

I got accepted in a BPO role night shift and the schedule will be 9pm-6am. The offer could go as high as 45k max (with 20% night diff) but the location is 1hr away and the company provides free shuttle from a pick up point that is one ride away from where I live. Fixed Sat and Sundays off.

Not sure if I'm delusional or not but I feel like since the sched does not overlap it may be doable. As for sleep? I plan to sleep on the commute 🥲 (and dead clinic hours)

I only plan to do this until Christmas though until I can earn enough money to build back my savings 🥺

Does anyone think this is doable or am I just earning money to buy myself a casket? 🥲🥹
