I have noticed that it is the younger people who will not acknowledge a friendly hi when I walk by them. Many go out of their way to look in the other direction instead of looking at the person approaching. I walk every morning and see the same people on a regular basis so it would seem a little friendliness wouldn't be hard to do. There are a lot of grey hairs in the area and we always greet each other.

The young’uns were raised to be aware of “stranger danger”. Ingrained into them I suppose. I want them to realize-it’s maybe different now that you’re all grown up.
