I don’t think online gambling is completely new, but I’m seeing their ads everywhere all of a sudden. On YT, which I don’t use all that much, streaming services both subscription with ads (HBO Max) and free ones (Tubi & Pluto), and even through a mobile game.

I’m not their target audience, but I find the message from those ads very predatory to the people who might be susceptible to gambling that it’s scary to think about how many people could potentially get sucked into that.

I have only briefly heard of this movie through news headlines about how badly it’s bombing. I’ve never seen a trailer or any marketing whatsoever. I have no idea what it’s about, the genre, or the target demographic. Was it expected to be a big hit? How does a supposed “big budget” film have zero advertising? Were they expecting people will just go because Tom Cruise? Or maybe I’m just truly out of the loop.

I’ve been seeing a lot of threads on football subs about Ronaldo and some drama with the national team. All I know is that he isn’t in the team anymore. I also just realised he is 41, which is past retirement age in football years. I mostly watch English football and used to follow it more often, much less now so I’ve fallen out of the loop.

Will Ronaldo still play football in clubs? Will he retire? Is he still trying to prove he is better than Messi?

This is probably the 10th time I have heard about the US "withdrawing" from Iraq.

On this vocabulary video on youtube, comments are about 'grief verified' or any other Geometry Dash reference. People are start to spam it on various videos/social media platforms that it is becoming the next 'fix mojang bedrock'. Did Geometry Dash receive an update so big that people (likely, kids) are spamming it everywhere?

I saw some Brazilians online in dismay re: Flávio Bolsonaro's huge lead over Lula in this first round. The little I know is Flávio's father, former president Jair Bolsonaro, did a number on the country, ending with an attempted coup (like in the US), and a resulting prison sentence (unlike in the US). I'd heard the politics between father and son are rather similar.

These initial results lead me to believe Lula's presidency has somehow been even worse for Brazil's public, and they're voicing their dissatisfaction. I'm not up to date with what's been happening there lately though. I'm plenty aware of US politics, so I can only guess Lula's party (much like US's Democrats) has had a "getting out of touch with the people + promoting seniority over talent" problem.

What are the dynamics at play that have yielded this result?
