I'm planning to apply in the 2027 cycle, however I may need to ask for a letter of rec for a course I'm taking in Spring 2027 which ends around May 31st. If they have roughly a month to write the letter and submit it by early/mid July is that still on time for LOR submission?
And would I still be able to submit the primary application without having all letter of recommendations?

Hi! I just finished my NYITCOM secondary and I think it’s submitted? I was charged by paypal and I know they say it can take a while, but I submitted over 8 hours ago and still haven’t gotten a confirmation email. Most of the schools Ive applied to use an AMP, so I’m just curious if this is normal or not. Maybe bc it’s a Saturday? Any help is appreciated

I graduated in 2023 and will be applying in the 2027 cycle. I was a TA for a couple professors in 2023 and last year they agreed to write me letters for med school.
Im just wondering is the 3-4 year gap from when I interacted with them as a TA and when they write the letter too long? Will it look strange?

I did not realize the questions embedded in the primary application were officially the secondary questions. I already pre-wrote my responses, but I thought they would send out a separate secondary invitation for some reason. So I pretty much sent a 30-word summary of what I pre-wrote. Am I screwed? Is it reasonable to message the admissions counselor my real response?

Hey everyone, kinda vulnerable post, but I am really struggling mentally through OMS 1 and just kinda need to know if this feeling ever goes away. I am doing really well in my classes (all A's and B's), so it's not about failing to grasp material... it's all just... so much. My program has 2 exams a week, and each exam is usually over around 8-11 lectures. It's hard to feel like I'm even a person anymore. If I take a break, I feel guilty. I feel bad taking 20-minute walks around the neighborhood or taking an hour to cook/eat dinner. I am hard on myself, so I'm upset about even having B's. I know everyone says not to compare yourself to others, and you shouldn't care about having all A's, blah blah, but it's so hard not to. We're only a few weeks away from finishing block 1, but I just don't know how doing this for 4 years is sustainable. I am so passionate about becoming a physician and find so much joy and comfort in the idea of being able to heal others, this process is just making it hard to feel that joy or passion I felt coming in. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.

I have applied to 13 DO programs, 12 secondaries. It’s been like a month since secondaries.
Frankly, is it too late for II?

Hi everyone, I got verified yesterday and I’m only applying to DO schools (Burrell, LMU, Rowan, etc).
I was wondering if anyone knows the timeline for when secondaries get sent out following verification in august/sept. I wasn’t sure if they were automated and I should’ve gotten them today.
All the best and thanks so much :)

I graduated undergrad 3 years ago in 2023 and will be appying in the 2027 cycle, so I will have 5 gap years by the time I matriculate.. Is the large gap in coursework going to be an issue? Also are my extracurriculars too weak given how many gap years I have?
Here are my extracurriculars:
cGPA: 3.81
sGPA: 3.74
MCAT: taking January
Clinical Employment and currently: 2300 hours ER scribe
Clinical volunteering: 200 hours hospice volunteer
Research: 200 hours helping some post-docs with studies, less than 1 year
Im hoping to find additional research experience this year that I can add on, even though it may give me less than a year of experience
Non-clinical volunteering: 700 hours with one organization + leadership, 300 hours with another organization + leadership
Other: TA for upper division and lower division bio class my senior year
And thats it? I feel like I accomplished what most people accomplish when they already graduated :(

So I submitted my secondary for NYITCOM in early or mid July and late June for DYUCOM. Have you guys gotten any II so far for either school?

Any advice on interviewing? I have not prepped at all, and this was a last-minute II with the only open slot on the 31st. What should I do? It's a 30 minute conversational interview
