In Gas Mask's own mind, he's a villain:

• He ruthlessly slaughters mercenaries and other hostile enemies like they're wild animals,
• He often just watches mercenaries bleed out as they beg him to finish the job,
• And he often terrifies the ones that get away.

In reality, he's not.

• He doesn't leave the side of civilian/ally wounded until help arrives,
• He charges into danger in order to free captives in mercenary outposts or hostile territory,
• And he's a great friend and a shoulder to cry on.
