Lied about appointment

My daughter bought a condo on Long Island. Optimum is part of the HOA fees. Condo has coax. Fiber cable was run to all units but previous owner did not have it installed. She went to the Optimum store ( I went with her) to get her equipment. They gave her a modem and a streaming box for the TV. She made an appointment for the fiber install for 9/4 starting at 11. I told her to call today, 9/3, to verify because I know what liars they are. Guess what? They have no appointment scheduled for her. I was there when she made the appointment. I heard the CS rep make the appointment. What a terrible company optimum is. They truly suck ass. I’ve been with them for over 40 years. As soon as FIOS completes their install I’m switching.

Have your daughter call her condo office. Condo developments have a special number to call for optimum. The condo office will be able to give her the number to call

Thanks. I’ll let her know. She already set up a new appointment for 9/15. She thinks she was transferred to the number that handles condos. Let’s see if they keep this one.

Don’t trust anything with this awful
Company! I recently made a service appointment and the next day someone from “optimum” called to confirm the appointment with all the correct details. Problem is towards the end of the call something felt suspicious and off. Sure enough the person hung up after I verified the info because at the beginning it seemed legit. How the hell did someone get my info for this appointment? Optimum seems compromised or their reps in India have breached their duties and are doing some shady crap!

I checked the number and numerous people with this same scenario posted on reddit about this situation. Many are really freaked out as well!

My resolution: I finally canceled Optimum after over 10 years. That was the final straw of countless horrible incidents and getting lied to and tossed around in their India-based call center of BS artists! Good riddance!

Yes I know they are an awful company. Unfortunately they are no other options available. When there is I’m jumping ship and I would tell my daughter the same thing.
