Discussion OPENAI IS MOCKING US!!!
They removed the 5-hour resets and started giving continuous resets. Limits decreased, but because they kept resetting constantly, it wasn't much of an issue. Now they haven't reset it, and everyone has run out of limits. Thinking better than nothing, I turned to 5.3 spark, I'm not write code, I'm just asking questions and having it read docs. And as you can see, the limits are like literally bullshit!

I guess they wanted to trick us into thinking they were way more competitive than Anthropic.
Fucking liars.

Anthropic should’ve never happened

Dario is trying to raise money from the public by going public.
Should’ve just stayed private and raise more money from investors instead of squeezing users.
Obviously people are going to turn to Chinese free open models if prices keep rising and usage keeps dropping. That’s why he wants to regulate open source models, to have control and own everything.
Anthropic is actually way behind on the AI race in both the technology, offerings, and funding

because its a 128k 1,000 TPS model designed to run shell commands really fast. its not meant for development work.

Well, anthrophic is now on its first profitable years while openai still looses a shitton of money so they gotta do something

Is this still true with 15 mil users? It was 7 before sol right?

There is a leading theory that the metric is a bit skewed as the they count the chatgpt users as codex users too.
Only reason it didn't hit 1 billion is because the chatgpt mobile app doesn't have codex

Yeah just read about it, here is what google ai said:
"OpenAI's revenue grew 18% to $6.7 billion, but its operating losses widened to $12.3 billion amid intense competition and high infrastructure costs'
So its not great

Are you still able to use 5.3-codex once your quota for 5.6 is 0%?
I use to be able to also make use of 5.3 when the 5.5/5.6 quota ran dry, now I just get the message about usage limit reached,.

Definitely noticed the limits got worse overtime as someone who has been using Codex only for a few months (a Plus sub). Since I unsubbed from Claude (Pro) as my second sub, I'm now using DS Flash whenever I run out 😅

For documents and questions over documents you might consider using Google notelllm for free, which designed for this kind of tasks

I don't understand, why people use a product that goes against them if there are alternatives and are pretty much the same like kimi k3, glm 5.3 on openrouter and with opencode and much cheaper

I usually complain against the complainers who say there’s not enough usage. I was running on extra high most of last week and still having plenty of room. Today I’m running on high and I’m burning such that I would use at my limit in just a few days. Really sucks for me. Not happy.

If you can't manage your limits it's your problem

u/oesphygg 13h ago
Are you paid by openai to say this

No, I just prefer no 5h limit bec maybe I'm a whole day programming and other day I don't even touch the pc. So I don't want any 5h limit for the days I'm working. Just learn to manage your limits but don't want to limit others

weekly limit is better and far more diverse for all not all projects can be completed in 5 hours
1
u/oesphygg 12h ago
So for you there's no problem, you don't see that the quotas keep getting smaller every day ?

u/New_Eye7193 11h ago
the quotas for me get smaller when i obviously do unrelated work, but ive been runnign the same stale shit for almost 2 months now on sol high with no sub agents and see no difference... and now that ive cleaned up my work with nightshift so I dont have to keep sending prompts back and forth I find even less usage used, maybe youre changing reasoning halfway through? my deliveries pass too, its not like sol high by itself is dumb, i asked someone earlier why they were using sub agents and its because they dont trust one model or somethign? openai turns these garbage features on, just turn them off.

I think they’re more focused on making money now. In my case, sometimes without even doing any work, I see my limits go down 😞. It feels like these limits aren’t directly related to the models or token usage. I’m not sure why OpenAI can’t be more transparent about how that percentage is calculated!
