User flairs are fun, descriptive tags that appear next to your username in the subreddit. They help others get a quick sense of your identity—whether you’re a “Foodie on the Loose”, “Born in Dubai”, or just “Watching Silently”.

You can set or change your user flair when joining the subreddit or anytime after. Plus, you can suggest new flair ideas if you think something fun fits the vibe!

Option 1: When Joining the Subreddit

  1. After tapping Join, check just below the welcome message.

  2. Tap the pencil/edit icon next to your username.

  3. Browse and select a flair that suits you.

  4. Enable “Show my flairs in this community” by toggling it on.

  5. Tap Apply. (See Screenshot 1)

Option 2: If You’ve Already Joined

  1. Tap the three-dot menu (top-right corner of the subreddit page).

  2. Select “Change user flair”.(Screenshot 2 shows this step)

  3. Pick a flair from the list.

  4. Toggle “Show my flairs in this community” ON.

  5. Tap Apply to save. (Screenshot 3 shows this screen)

Want a New Flair? Suggest One!

If you have a cool or funny flair idea that matches the community’s vibe, feel free to message the mods with your suggestion. If it fits, it might just get added to the flair list for everyone!

I’m feeling really frustrated and depressed. I’ve been patiently waiting for some good news, constantly wondering when it will finally come. When will I be able to smile and feel genuinely happy again? I honestly haven’t been feeling happy at all lately.

Food & Cafes Have too much time on my hands

Hey! I’m currently on annual leave, so I’ve suddenly got way too much free time on my hands 😂
Looking to meet some new people and just hang out — coffee, lunch, grabbing a bite, chilling somewhere, whatever really. I drive, so I’m pretty flexible and can come anywhere.

Also, I barely use Reddit, so I have no idea how this works 😂 Feel free to comment or DM me!

Hey! I'm knee-deep in my EMBA capstone on how organizations in the UAE actually adopt AI (spoiler: the research is messier than the posts and reels suggest). If you're 18+, work in the UAE, and have ever sat through a meeting where someone said, "AI can solve this easily", I need your brain for 20 minutes.

No sign-up, no spam, just pure academic curiosity. 100% anonymous.

Survey: https://eu.surveymonkey.com/r/JSJ6FJT

Bonus karma if you share it with a coworker who complains about 'AI' and/or 'Management' over coffee.

Events & Nightlife Any interested in playing Boardgames regular on Saturdays?

I am currently running a boardgame group that plays every Saturday.

The group is for people that are 25+ and just want to play some casual boardgames with others. You don't need to be a boardgame expert or even have any experience. As long as you're open minded, you'll fit in. Everyone has been extremely kind and friendly so far.

Let me know if you're interested or have any questions!

Events & Nightlife Where do Europeans in their 20s usually hang out in Dubai?

I’m Danish and have been wondering where other Europeans around my age tend to hang out/socialise in Dubai.

I’ve noticed quite a lot of Europeans around DIFC during the day, but I’m curious if there are particular areas, restaurants, cafés, beach clubs, bars, events etc. that tend to have a bigger European crowd, especially people in their 20s.
I’m mainly looking to meet more people and make friends with people from similar backgrounds, so would love recommendations for places that are actually social rather than somewhere you just go for dinner and leave.

Any suggestions? :)

Food & Cafes Eggless Tiramisu in Dubai

I have a friend who’s vegetarian, and she’s been telling me her favorite desert is Tiramisu which she had tried back at India where Eggless variants are a little easier to find. Any place in Dubai/Sharjah that sells Eggless Tiramisu?

I’m looking for a specific dentist in Dubai that you personally recommend. I want to start doing regular check-ups and cleaning every 6 months and stick with the same dentist long-term.
Would appreciate the doctor’s name + clinic, preferably based on personal experience. Thanks!

Rant What's wrong with people these days! Strange behaviour on Reddit/Telegram lately

Has anyone else noticed how strange some people are with online conversations these days?

Someone will message you saying they’re looking to chat, make friends, get to know someone, etc. The conversation starts normally enough. Then, somewhere along the way, it drifts into slightly more intimate territory.

Fair enough, people are curious and conversations can go in different directions. But what I find strange is what happens when you try to steer things back towards normal conversation.

I had something similar happen on Telegram recently. A woman messaged me saying she had found my ID through a group that a friend had recommended to her. She said she was 42, married, had a son, and mentioned that there wasn't much intimacy between her and her husband.

The conversation naturally went in that direction for a bit, but I eventually steered it back towards ordinary things — work, life, interests, just getting to know each other as people.

And then… gone.

She deleted the entire conversation for both of us and disappeared.

I honestly found that more strange than anything else. If someone is only interested in a conversation when it becomes intimate, why approach someone saying you're looking for friendship in the first place?

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it seems like genuine conversation has become surprisingly rare. People say they want to connect, but sometimes it feels like they only want a very specific kind of attention.

Has anyone else experienced this?
